Do you have deep dark secrets? How far would you go to protect the ones you love?
This book is about Jessie, a mother of two who is just trying to take care of the ones that she loves. Then, one day, while she is out, she crosses paths with a young girl, Misty, who is trying to get Jessie to help her. Jessie doesn't want anything to do with this girl, yet somehow Misty tries to worm her way into Jessie's life. Causing Jessie to fear that her deepest, darkest secrets will come to light.
This book will make you laugh. It will make you cry, and it will make you think. It has all the emotions, as it takes you through Jessie's life and struggles.
The ending of this book threw me for a loop. I did not see it coming, and I definitely wasn't expecting it.
If you are looking for a really good book to read. One that has all the emotions, lots of spice, and an ending you will never forget. Then this book is for you. Check your trigger warnings, though, because there are some. This book touches on some heavy subjects, so just check your triggers.
I gave this book a five-star because I believe J.C.P. Thomas did an excellent job writing it. Her writing makes you feel as if you are actually in the story, and you can feel what the characters feel.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good book to read.

Thoughts
I found this book to be very interesting.
I liked the main side hustle. Parts of this book felt very relatable. Even parts of the story made me mad. Also a little confused at times. But it all came together with the twist I didn’t see coming!
Thank you so much for letting me ARC read this for you!

I really enjoyed the characters and the connections they made with each other during this story. The author crafted good action for each of the women and was able to capture my attention with each chapter. I was invested in the outcome and liked seeing how the story unfolded. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Three's A Crowd by JCP Thomas is a multi-faceted book, and one I was very impressed with. There's erotica, possibly of a kind too extreme for many, domestic drama, a complex love story and a devastating insight into a few potentially triggering issues.
In lesser hands the same plot line could have been exploitative and tacky but author Thomas's notes show that that's the exact opposite reason for her writing this book and it's very personal and important to her to give her characters a voice.
Jessie is a housewife doing her best to support her family,a son, daughter and unemployed husband . She has 2 sidelines, one unexceptional, another frowned on by much of society that is far more lucrative where Jessie's lack of boundaries sees her in demand in its niche field.
With her closest friend Emily constantly querying her choices Jessie is approached in a supermarket car park by a wraith-like young girl, Misty, who claims to know her and seems intent on telling her story.
This is an excellent, involving, story with considerable insight. There are some complicated relationships and even more complicated decisions involving the main characters that JCP Thomas weaves into a thought-provoking and often surprisingly deep tale.
A great read but please be aware that several topics that might prove upsetting to some form part of the story, which at times is both explicit and brutal.
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started this book. There are lots of trigger warnings for this one. Lots of spice, some dark subject matter and quite the reveal at the end.
Jessie is a mom of two, in a dead end marriage. Money is very tight, so Jessie becomes an escort. Jessie likes being an escort though, she enjoys sex, and lots of it.
The story is actually much more complex than I initially thought it would be. I was quickly turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. You meet Emily, her best friend, Misty the young troubled girl trying to get help from Jessie, and Sam. Sam is a client, that becomes much more than that.
The book was well written, the author makes you feel a range of emotions.I sympathized with the main character, while at the same time, I often didn’t like her. By the time I turned the last page, I just had to sit with my thoughts for a moment.
It’s hard to put this book into a category, because it really does include many tropes.
Although I felt it could have been skimmed down in parts, I thought it was a great read.
I hope J.C.P Thomas continues to write, she’s pretty darn good at it!
I have to be honest here... I originally selected this book because I needed a break from the intense books I typically read. I thought something a little fun and dirty would be perfect. There was soooo much more to this book than just some "smut." Some of the content was deep; like thought-provoking deep...
From the beginning, the book had me wondering, what lengths would I go to in order to continue to provide for my family? Jess's husband, Phil, loses his job and they find themselves struggling to make ends meet. Jess decides to take extreme measures, and she ends up putting herself in difficult, often unsafe situations. In her travels, she meets mysterious Misty. When Misty speaks, it seems as though she's attempting to send cryptic messages as they are disjointed and don't fully make sense. Misty has her questioning her own choices and sanity. Jess also finds herself confiding all of her deep, dark secrets to her best friend, Emily. To me, it felt like Jess and Emily had a love/hate type of relationship.
One small thing that really, REALLY bothered me was the amount of times the author used the incorrect "your/you're". Example: "He thinks your special". "I don't know what your doing". Drives me BONKERS!!!!
I do have to say that this was one of the best books I read in 2024! Five stars 🌟 from me and I'm very stingy with my stars!
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion/review.
Three’s A Crowd by JCP Thomas was not what I was expecting, and I was pleasantly surprised! The story is more complex than I had anticipated, and the reader quickly gets sucked in. Yes, there is some darkness but kudos to the author for bringing it all together. Well done. 4 stars because it was a bit long in some areas for me but a great story nonetheless! Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to provide review. All opinions are my own.
I don’t even know how to put in words how impressed I was with this book. This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and at times gave me whiplash. The storyline was amazing and it also included some well done spice. I have never read anything else from this author, but now I am interested in any and everything they have written.
WOW!
I won’t lie, I nearly gave up on this book. I’m not usually one to read long books (over 400 pages). However I persevered with this one. Boy I am so glad I did!
I have NEVER read a book like this in my life. I laughed and I cried and I felt the raw pain in this book. This book may have triggered me in ways that I was not expecting in the slightest but once I worked through it, I have an understanding as to why I reacted the way I did on a deeper personal level.
I will say to please check for trigger warnings for this book as it is dark but almighty powerful, however, YOUR MENTAL WELLBEING IS NUMBER ONE PRIORITY!!🫂💓
I have only just come across this author but I definitely will be reading more as they get released!
I was very late reading this book due to personal circumstances and seeing as Threes A Crowd is available on Kindle Unlimited at the time of this review I chose to not read the advanced reader copy provided by the author and NetGalley in return for an honest review but instead read the available kindle unlimited edition in order to support the author. ✍🏻 Note: This review is still 100% my honest opinion.
