Description
Clementine doesn't know what animal she is, she was just born and there is no one like her around. She meets Cricket and Moth, who explain that she is an insect, but they don't remember which one. She thinks she might be a star because she has light, like the ones they see in the sky.
That very same night, a little girl leaves her house to chase the small lights that illuminate the forest. They will meet and become friends. Will the girl be able to help Clementine understand who she is?

A short story of Clementine, a firefly, who finds many creatures but is lost from those similar to her. The dark pictures paint a great bedtime story.
The Journey of Clementine is a sweet picture book that follows a lightning bug on a journey to find out who she is. The illustrations in this book really stood out and were definitely the star of the show. I liked the plot, but wish there had been a couple more pages at the end with Clementine at her destination. Overall, a super cute read for the littles and the illustrations definitely made it worthwhile! Thanks to NetGalley, Publisher Spotlight, and Alessandro Montagnana for the chance to read and review. My opinions are my own!
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!
This picture book is absolutely beautiful! I loved the illustrations. The story follows a little lightning bug trying to find others like her and a little girl fascinated with the pretty lights in her yard. My 3yo liked Clementine and the other bugs. She really liked that the other lightning bugs were all different colors, especially the purple one. 😊 I highly recommend!
Oh my goodness, why am I about to cry because of a children's book?! This was such an adorable, short story to add to a little one's library. Clementine is a newborn firefly trying to find her place in the world. The ending was so sweet!
The Journey of Clementine is about a firefly named Clementine who doesn't know what she is. She meets some helpers along the way that help her make the journey to meeting other fireflies. The overall story and illustrations reminded me a bit of Eric Carle and fans of his would probably also enjoy this story.
Thanks to NubeOcho and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
Clementine is new to the big woods she was born into. Eager to find out what she is and others like herself, she meets several creatures that are equally curious to know what she is. Come along this short story with beautiful illustrations capturing the beauty of compassion, bravery, self discovery and friendship.
This is so cute!! The art is beautiful and it really makes you appreciate nature more. Every page looked so peaceful and I just wanted to jump into the book itself and go exploring with Clementine. The firefly aspect of the story kind of reminded me of the fireflies in The Princess and the Frog movie and it just felt very nostalgic. This would be perfect as a bedtime story for children!
