Very lovely and comforting book. This is written by a young woman, who is now involved in educating others and raising funds, which tells the story of dealing with her Mom's cancer. Happily her Mom is fine and this young woman is now in high school and is reaching out and helping others. The story is well told and provides comfort and resources to cope with major illness of a parent (or other loved ones). The writing and illustrations are comforting and appropriate. I am glad Mom is fine.

This is a parent-child, mother-daughter bond story which withstands the cancer experience.
The author, who is now a grown-up (still a young one), reflects on the time when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. The author was 9 years old, and shared a lovely bond with her mother. She tells of the difficulties her family experienced during her mother’s (successful) treatment. In this brief book, she manages to illustrate the pain, the hardships, the coping, and the aftermath with some tips for the young ones. She mentions a particular tip which I found to be extremely helpful and creative.
Read this with my 9yo. They were happy the mother is healthy now.
