One Day at the Bottom of the Sea is a colorful and fun-filled underwater adventure! The illustrations are bright, cute, and full of personality, perfectly matching the playful rhyming text that flows effortlessly. With lots of silly sounds and adorable sea creatures, kids will love diving into this imaginative story—especially the clever twist where a girl outsmarts a shark. A fun read-aloud that’s sure to make a splash!

I received an advance copy from Netgally. I loved the cover and title and thought my daughter would like the book. The first two pages she seemed on the fence but she ended up loving the story. She laughed at the various expressions of the shark and the fish/sea animals. Some of the rhythms weren’t good but overall I thought it was adorable and loved the illustrations. She gave the book 100 stars😂

Mother of two here! We all loved this adorable story of a girl helping a shark find his next meal. Each time the shark got injured, my kids laughed out loud! We love a book about the ocean and a rhyming children’s book is always a major plus for our family! The author, Daniel Bernstrom does a fantastic job, leading you through the different ocean creatures and how they defend themselves. The illustrations by Brandon James Scott are beautiful and so clever! This book was perfect for both my 8yo and 5yo, I would recommend it to another family!
Thank you NetGalley and Astra Books for Young Readers for this eARC!

I loved this book so much! The illustrations were so vivid and cute. As a kindergarten teacher I know that my students would really enjoy this book. They would enjoy
the shark character and how he co yo yes to find food that is not right for him.
I loved the rhyming in the text.
Great story!
