Description
"The Essential Introduction for New GOLD Prospectors" is for anyone curious about the United States' vast gold resources, and wishes they had their own gold mine!
Most Americans aren't aware that:
· The first gold rush in U.S. history happened in 1799 in North Carolina,
· One of the largest gold deposits in U.S. history, 175 million+ ounces of gold, was discovered as recently as the 1960's,
· Much of the gold recovered in the United States isn't found "gold colored" in the ground,
· The US Government estimates over 18,000+ metric tons of gold is still undiscovered and more than 13,000+ metric tons of that is in the lower 48 states.
· Where gold has been found before, it is ALWAYS found again!
Additionally, Most Americans aren't aware that they may live in or near an area where gold has already been found, and don’t know there are easily accessed tools to research identifying, locating and collecting it. "The Essential Introduction for New GOLD Prospectors" has been written to provide that information and introduce each individual to the tools they need to find their own gold.
This eBook introduces the reader to the ideas and tools that are critical to gold prospecting success. The basic knowledge, skills, and information sources needed to successfully locate and gather gold and other valuable mineral resources are described. This book is packed with links to internet documents and videos to leverage its value through the power of the Internet.
The author is an award winning former U.S. Geological Survey Scientist, a published technical author, and a degreed engineer with 13+ years of professional experience collecting geologic data, samples and reporting on natural resources for U.S. Federal agencies, Municipalities, and Private Industry. He has training and experience in the fields of Hydrology, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Cartography, Numerical Modeling, and Petroleum, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering.

"My name is Jim Young and I have been prospecting for a long time and I do a lot of research in a lot of different aspects of gold prospecting. I am also the President of South Mississippi Chapter-Gold Prospectors Association of America and also the Mississippi State Director. I state the above information so that you can understand that I do know what I am talking about. But, to make this very clear to all, the statements provided herein are my own personal thoughts and beliefs and I am NOT nor am I authorized to speak for the GPAA.
In case you are wondering about why I am saying all this is that, FINALLY, I am really happy to see that someone has put so much information under one cover. I have, probably, most of the information in the book already but it is scattered through many studies, research papers, government documents, and other books (the accuracy of which sometimes is questionable). That is why I can foresee this book becoming THE GOLD PROSPECTORS BIBLE. This book contains a ton of information under one cover that could take a prospector or researcher hours and even days to find independently. Mr. Rapp openly states in his intro to the book and also in his press release that most of this information is freely available to the public. I agree with that, ...it is. However, as many long time prospectors know, finding the information and then trying to interpret technical or scholastic jargon and put in layman's terms is a trial in itself. Mr. Rapp has put the information in this book in a simple-to-read and -even an enjoyable reading format that even a brand new "newbie" can understand it.”

"I am a recreational gold prospector with 10 years of experience in several gold bearing States and find this book very useful and exceedingly interesting. The author amassed a cornucopia of gold prospecting information that can serve as a bible for first time weekend enthusiasts as well as many long time recreational gold prospectors. I suspect that the chapters describing the geology surrounding gold deposits will be useful even for gold mining professionals. Mr. Rapp provides detailed information about tools, procedures and processes used by prospectors and the geological formations where one may have better chances of finding gold. His multiple internet links provide source material that could never be condensed in a 300 page book. If a subject isn't completely explained in the book, he posts hot links to other sites for more detailed explanations. It could easily be the text book for an undergraduate geology class for gold prospectors.
I
highly encourage prospecting enthusiasts to read the book and join a local gold
prospecting club to put what you learn into action. Also, please place
particular attention to your State DNR/DEQ and local prospecting laws and
rules. They are all different and what may be legal in one state could carry
large fines in another.
Disclaimer:
I am president of the Remus, Michigan Chapter of Gold Prospector's Association
of America, www.michgpaa.com, but my comments are mine alone and I don't
attempt to represent those of GPAA, www.goldprospectors.org. And yes, we have
very fine gold disbursed throughout Michigan."

"So much information in such a concise presentation. Fascinating and easy to understand explanations of geologic processes that result in the various types of gold deposits. Clear instruction on how to identify different strata that are likely to contain gold. I'm looking forward to applying these techniques in the field."
