Jaden is a fifteen year old girl, with a sister (who has a bad case of the stepsister syndrome) and a mother who seems oblivious to their issues. Mom drags the girls down to Louisiana for the summer to flip the family's inherited estate.
Our girl is having a really bad day, when it suddenly goes from bad to worse. What she stumbles into will change everything.

Remember when you were six years old, and you'd wake up screaming for Mommy, sweating buckets and trembling? No? Well, if you read Sweet Desire,Wicked Fate, you will.
From the blurb, I couldn't really tell in what branch of the paranormal this book was going to go, so I won't get into too much detail either, don't want to spoil it for you, but I will tell you this, it's a very original branch! I certainly didn't see it coming, and that's all I'll say about the plot.
I really liked the characters on this one as well, they were all very complex and they all played a role in this story. Also, the location, I love the backdrop, Louisiana, the Bayou is almost a character in this book and I find it fascinating!
All in all a great read!
I'm looking forward to reading the next installment!

I enjoyed this book; the world-building was very good it is filled creatures that the author equipped with their own idiosyncratic characteristics and humans that you like and of course, those that you don’t. It's fast-paced, the writing flows effortless and it’s enormously entertaining; I think readers of all ages; especially teenage girls, will love this book. While there are references to sex, there are some good messages in there which includes abstinence even when you are tempted and/or urged to do differently. Young women will enjoy the strong female characters as they recognize the fears and problems that weigh teens down. I can’t wait for the next book in this series; since it’s been almost a year I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to see it soon.
