"One More Day is an absolutely riveting book. It's a rare novel that combines intrigue and suspense with so much heart--but that's what makes it one of my favorite new books of this winter." - Sarah Pekkanen, bestselling author of Things You Won't Say and The Opposite of Me

Carrie Morgan is living a nightmare. She only turned away for a second to the parking meter , but when she looked back her little boy, Ben was gone. Suddenly Carrie is not only living her worst nightmare, she’s the center of a media firestorm and a suspect in the disappearance of her own child. She berates herself over and over and her world becomes filled with the biggest words in the English language “if only”. She wishes she could have her little boy back, even if for just one more day. Then miraculously, he reappears in his crib. How could this be? She’s overjoyed, so much so that it takes her a while to realize that even though her son has been missing for so long, he’s still wearing the clothing he was in the day he disappeared. And he hasn’t grown at all. The next day, Ben is gone again. Is she crazy, or has she just been granted an impossible wish? Heart rending and impossible to put down
This book kept me glued to the pages until I finished!
Thrilling to the core. Absolutely breathtaking.

Received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is definitely a book that left me thinking (it had me thinking during this last portion of the book) after I read the book. I'm not quite sure how much I enjoyed the book. It was not what I was expecting. We, the reader, know that Carrie's son has gone missing, right away. A year later, he shows up in their home, in his crib, and she has just "one more day" with him. As the book continues this begins to be a theme for her.
Things are not always what they seem in this book. I really liked how the story unfolded and how, like an onion, this book had many layers. There were certain parts that I wanted to unfold; the stalker husband for one. John was over the top in following his wife around to "protect" her. I was hoping for more of a story arc with this angle of the book.
This is a hard book to review, as I don't want to give away any spoilers. What I find interesting is that none of the characters really stood out for me and yet I found myself enjoying the book. Sure I thought John was creepy and Carrie made excuses for it. They both had their issues and both were had to feel sorry for at times. There is a twist at the end. An explanation of things so to speak. I wanted to know more about the little girl at the end, perhaps there could be a book about her.
In the beginning of this book I wasn't sure I liked it. I kept reading and found that as I did so, I enjoyed it more and more. I had many questions: Was Carrie mentally ill? What really happened to Ben? Who is responsible? My questions were answered and not in the way that I thought they would be answered.
Interesting book. May not be for everyone. I enjoyed it.
This is a book about a mother whose child disappears when she turns to pay a parking meter and she wishes to have one more day with him. Does she really get that one more day or does she imagine it and so much more. Kelly truly keeps you guessing as to what part the mother played in the disappearance. I did not want to put the book down until I knew that answer.
MY REVIEW: When reading the description of One more Day by Kelly Simmons, I was drawn to the book. I don't know why I am drawn to child abduction stories as they are my worst nightmare and could not imagine living through such an experience regarding my sons. Haven't we all wished for just One More Day with a loved one? Carrie and John Morgan were granted that wish, just one more day with their child who had been abducted 15 months earlier. After the one day, their son Ben is missing again. The reader then embarks on a suspenseful, fast paced journey to discover what happened to Ben?
I love books that you think are going one way and you find yourself heading in a different direction. The story is more about the characters and psychology of grief and how people each handle it differently. I found the character's emotions well portrayed and strong. I understood Carrie's past, it's effect on the present, her pain and confusion.
One More Day by Kelly Simmons is psychological suspense about parenthood, family, relationships, loyalty, faith, and hidden secrets with a paranormal twist. While other reviewers disliked the twist, I enjoy a book that takes me on a different journey than I was expecting.
MY RATING: 4/5 - One More Day by Kelly Simmons is a fast paced story about my worst nightmare, a lost child. This is a story you need to come to with an open mind. I read One More Day in nearly one sitting. Even though I questioned some elements of the story, I just had to find out what happens. I will admit, that at one point in the story I got actual goosebumps. That has never happened to me when reading a book.
I don't want to give too much of the storyline away, but there is a twist which left me wondering was this paranormal or a psychological reaction to grief, guilt and stress. One More Day is definitely worth the experience and read. Make sure you set some time aside to read One More Day as once you start, it is hard to put down. Yes, my house and family were neglect until I could finish.
This is the first book I have read by Kelly Simmons and I will certainly be reading more of hers.
This story was riveting from start to finish and I was hooked from the first page. Imagine the unthinkable thing to happen when your child disappears and then after a year he appears again but only for 24 hours because he vanishes from his cot!
People around the small town start to question the motives of the Mother Carrie and you do yourself whilst still feeling her heartbreak until you discover that she has this wonderful gift of seeing people when they have died. This book treats the subject sympathetically and is not judgemental.
Despite the heart breaking subject I enjoyed this book immensely and would recommend to anyone.
.
This book held my attention from start to finish. A good read. Recommended.
This book started out with a child abduction and then the child is returned which seemed a little unbelievable and the mother began noticing the child hadn't changed in the year since he was abducted. 24 hours later the child goes missing again and this time they find his body. The mother then starts to see people from her past who are deceased and they also disappear after 24hrs or less. This book was a little confusing at times and I'm not a big fan of the supernatural but it was still a good book.
I knew this one would be suspenseful, but I had no idea to what degree. Usually I don’t read other reviews of a book I am reading as an advanced readers copy, but as I got a few chapters into the book something started niggling at the back of my mind. This wasn’t going to be a straight up suspense read so what was it that I needed to understand before I continued. I’m glad I did as it made me open my mind up to the possibilities of what the main character, Carrie Morgan is experiencing.
From the synopsis, you know a child is missing and this his mother is a possible suspect, but only after he comes back and disappears again. What follows is a mother's perspective on what happened the day her son was taken and just how it happened, the guilt and anguish and eventually we get to why she believes it happened. In Carrie’s world nothing is as it seems, but is she crazy or is there something else going on with her senses?
Much of the story is about John and Carrie Morgans’ marriage and the state it’s left in as they navigate through the minefield that is the loss of their son. The story is mostly from Carrie’s perspective but the author includes the backstory of their relationship, which is a mystery in itself. It's just really hard to get a hold on what motivates John, the doctor, the police, and the members of the community. One More Day is a 3.5 to 4 Star read. I can’t settle on one because there are a lot of surprises and I’m still noodling through some of the occurrences. Not everything gets wrapped up in a nice bow and in some cases I don’t mind this ~ the mystery continues.
Recommendation in the suspense/mystery genre.

I found One More Day a fascinating and haunting read. I was so intrigued by the plot that when I finished the book I went back and reviewed some sections to make sure I understood all the threads and what really took place. I have the urge to read this cleverly told story again.
Most of the stories I tend to read are character driven, however I believe One More Day was more plot driven. Still, this story wrapped me up and would not allow me to leave it until the last page.
A fantastic read with themes that will encourage discussion with friends.
I will publish to my blog closer to release date.
A difficult book to get into at first but then the story opened out.A paranormal kind of book about a missing boy who comes back for just one more day. Carrie is the mother of the missing boy Ben and has the ability to see ghosts and many find this unbelievable . A poignant tale of a family's loss . I recieved a free copy of this from Netgalley in return for an honest review I give this book 4 stars
