Description
At sixteen, Alasdair Gilbride, heir to a Scottish earldom, fled the Highlands and an arranged betrothal. Ten years later, Alasdair must travel home to face his responsibilities. It’s a task that would be much easier without the distracting presence of the most enticing woman he’s ever met…
After one escapade too many, Eden Whitney has been snubbed by the ton. The solution: rusticating in the Scottish wilderness, miles from all temptation. Except, of course, for brawny, charming Alasdair. The man is so exasperating she’d likely kill him before they reach the border—if someone else weren’t trying to do just that. Now Eden and Alasdair are plunging into a scandalous affair with his life and her reputation at stake—and their hearts already irreparably lost…

This entire series has honestly been one of the best I have ever read. I have loved every single installment and I am sad that the series is over.
Alec and Eden aka Edie are great leads. I loved the banter between them and the chemistry was undeniable.
Edie has caused a scandal and her parents want to send her to Yorkshire to wait out the scandal. Edie's sister Evelyn's new husband Will has a better idea. Go to Scotland with his best friend Alec. Alec thinks this is a great idea because one he wants Edie and two because he has a plan to use her to help him with a problem he has - a betrothal that his family entered him into against his wishes years ago and the reason he left. He is hoping to break the betrothal and win Edie. As they say the best laid plans...
This book has it all - villains, humor, heartache, steamy love scenes, life or death moments and true love.
I really enjoyed this book - as with the other books in the series - it is well written and the plot flows perfectly. I would highly recommend this book and the entire series.
My only complaint would be that even though there is an epilogue - I wish it had encompassed all the characters and had been set a few years later. But that is just a personal wish because I am not ready to let these characters go :)

"How To Marry a Royal Highlander" by Vanessa Kelly
What I liked about this novel..
I loved this historical romance story of Alec[Alasdair Gilbride] and Edie[Eden Whitney]. I will say I laughed so hard at some of the bantering that went on in this novel with Alec and Edie but also especially that of Edie's mom. I was able to catch some of Edie's feeling for Alec quite early in the read, but was quite surprise at a lots of the twist, turns and drama in this read that was so very interestingly presented by this author. The characters were all off the chart well done...being well developed, defined, portrayed, engaging and so very believable. I also liked the way this author was able to give the reader one hot steamy highlander romance story as the heroine and hero are brought together in their lively interaction throughout the read. Who knew that a horrible kiss and being snubbed by the ton would cause such a uproar that would force Edie to have to leave London for the Highlands. And that there would be plans by Edie's mom to start some match making for Edie. I found this read not only fascinating and entertaining with a good depth, a great plot but also a well paced read that will definitely keep your attention all the way till the end.
A great read that blends the Regency era with the Scottish Highlands. Romance, mystery and great characters. See link for a longer review.

*This book while part of a series can be read as a stand alone*
How to Marry a Royal Highlander is the fourth book in Vanessa Kelly’s Renegade Royals Series. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am impressed! Filled with a humorous well-developed cast of characters this book took off from page one. The sexual tension between the hero and heroine practically leapt off the pages and their lively interaction throughout this work was irresistible! Grab a seat and be prepared not to leave it until you finish this highly engaging story!
How have I not read anything by Vanessa Kelly before? I know she's on my tbr. I may even already own some of her books. Well, I'll definitely be digging them our cause I loved this book!
The banter between Alec and Edie was great! Alec was suave and charming and Edie would get him so twisted cause he had feelings for her. It was refreshing to see the hero get tongue tied and say the wrong thing. Edie's mom was a great secondary character. She put a smile on my face :)
I loved it. Excellent writing and story building. Loved the romance and the characters.
This Arc was provided by the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
Splendid! I mean this was freaking amazing!! Alec and Edie are so charming and wonderful. Both the characters had this charisma and one couldn't help but root for them. I also liked that the setting and plot for this story was completely different from the rest of the stories in this series. The secondary characters also made the story not only fun but they brought much more depth and dimension. There were times when Edie dearly needed her mother's advice and I was glad to see a different side to Lady Reese.
