This is a wonderful addition to any children's library, school or public. Beautiful, color photographs show young children about the beach whether they have ever been to a beach, or this is their first introduction.

A great way to introduce the beach or explore it further to a young child. The photographs are bright and very detailed, ensuring even non-readers will find it fascinating (and grownups won't get bored either), as they show all sorts of things you might see at the beach, whether crabs, bird footprints, driftwood or seaweed. (I'm not certain about the use of "sea stars" though - I've only ever heard them called "starfish".)
I love the action shots of children climbing on rocks and playing in the surf.
As suggested, it will go very nicely with Dear Dragon Goes to the Beach, and the end pages include suggestions for parents or teachers to help reinforce new words and explore reading further.

The pictures are bright! This book is a great introduction to an ocean unit. It allows for its reader to get the big picture of what a beach is and what it encompasses.

This was an excellent informationl text for lower level readers. The photographs of the beach as well as the items found on the next are very detailed. The text is easy to read and for the readers that still struggle, the photographs help to determine unknown words. I also like that it hs a word list and critical skills in the back of the book. This is a wonderful book with great information about what you can find at the beach. After reading this with my daughter, she is ready to go look for all of the items in the book (except the crab because she says he is creepy). Great book!

This is your basic beginning to read book. I think, for my library, this will be especially exciting. I doubt that any of my kids have ever seen a beach. They probably don't realize how many different types there are. I think this will get kids interested both in beaches and nonfiction in a way that I don't usually see in such beginning books.

This is a first information book about things children may see or do at the beach. It has fantastic large, colourful images from different beaches with one or two sentences as captions for them on every page. It also has advice for adults on reading reinforcement activities and word lists.
This is a great introduction to factual texts for younger readers. The presentation is engaging and attractive. It is a lovely early reference book to inspire youngsters and I have no hesitation in highly recommending it.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley too, for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
