Mystery Rider,***** Horses and Friends series book 3 e-book by Miralee Ferrell
Mystery Rider is the third book in the Horses and Friends series. Like the other two books in the series, this book is geared for young readers, however, adults will enjoy it as well—I did. Kate, Tori and Colt continue to grow in their friendships and have added a new friend, Melissa—but is she really a friend? From Melissa’s past behavior toward them, I think I would be a bit suspicious of her too. There is a mystery—a hooded rider on a magnificent black horse shows up near Kate's home and then disappears. As these four young friends seek to learn the identity of the mystery rider, we see their emotions as they decide what to do—if anything. Besides the mystery, there is adventure, faith, friends learning how to get along and trust each other—true friendship and trusting God in their lives. I could feel the tense moments as they investigated the mystery horse and rider—excitement, fear, danger and surprises. I like the spiritual aspect woven in throughout the story, not preachy at all, very realistic. I really enjoyed and grew fond of the mystery rider—not telling who it is. It is interesting to see the different backgrounds each of the friends come from and their home life and how this played out in their developing friendships.
