A Deal with the Devil was every kind of hot sweetness mixed with a bucket load of passion-filled fireworks!

So many secrets, deceit, and deception in this story. Is it right to accuse someone, do an expose on someone, if you do it in the name of revenge? I have mixed emotions with this story. Cause I think the bad boy Rey was more honest and open, within his lies, than Kate was with her deception, while seeking for her revenge.
The story is dark, edgy, and dances on the borderlines of the criminal world, with gambling and fight clubs, deals, and justice by your own hand.
But like saying, amongst all that, in my opinion, Rey was the one with honesty, openness and direct approach to Kate. Kate came off as argumentative, difficult, and judgmental. She overreacted on situations, seeing only what she wanted to see.
Ray was a bad boy personified, but he was trying so hard - to do good, to do right, to make a difference, help where he could.
Their encounters are hot. They obviously have chemistry, and allure for each other. The attraction is fierce, and raw, the deepness of it confuses both of them. The romance based on dishonesty, chicanery, and lies seem doomed from the beginning. When Kate's eyes started to open to see the bigger picture, it appeared to be too late already. It was an interesting tale, I did read it at once, after starting it. I wanted to see, how Kate could get out of the web of lies she had put herself in. There was casino life, fight clubs, one wild affair with the boss, but there was also one badly abused boy trying to find his way in life, and older sister, fighting for justice, in a questionable way, for her brother

A good story. Truly liked it. I found it to be well-written with only a few minor issues.

A Deal with the Devil has more of a darker edge to the story. That does not make it any less intriguing however. Rey has issues with demons from his past that does not allow him to trust anyone easily. Kate is an individual that is caught in the middle of tough decisions. I was on the fence for a long time with this story. I read it twice just to make sure that I was giving it a chance. My conclusion is that A deal with the Devil is the story of two complex people that are trying to make the right choices within their lives. Louisa George has written a story with a deeper meaning, all decisions have consequences. A complex and indulging story. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

A Deal with the Devil by Louisa George is a story about how love is worth fighting for and when it comes down to making the toughest choices in our life that will either make us or break us, can waitress Kate Wilkinson choose love? Kate is lucky when ex-boxer and casino tycoon Rey Doyle comes to her with a proposal. He needs a fiancee to help him seal a deal. Kate takes this opportunity to find out everything she needs to expose the criminal inside the man who doesn't trust anyone. But as she goes about the ruse of his fiancee and digging into who he is, Kate will have to make the hardest decision ever. Will she go along with her original plan to expose than man or will she fight for love?

Louisa George has incredibly captured her audience with the irresistible bad boy Rey Doyle and Kate who started off on revenge but soon learned that it wasn't what she really wanted in the first place. Rey undoes her whole being both inside and out and that is very dangerous territory for the both of them. I enjoyed reading each character's perspective and their blooming romance between two that should have been enemies. A funny twist to this well written novel. I highly recommend reading A Deal with the Devil by Louisa George. I look forward to reading more by her in the future. Overall, this story is a five out of five stars.

Deal With the Devil An International Bad Boys Novella Louisa George

Rey Doyle grew up with violence in his own home and lost his mother to his father's beatings. Rey turned that anger and rage for his father into a very successful boxing career, and is now the owner of a multi-million dollar casino. He is the Casino King.

Kate Wilkinson is a journalist hoping to get a hot story. A very personal story. Her brother Jake recently was nearly killed in a illegal boxing match and Kate knows Rey Doyle is responsible. Sh is undercover as a waitress in his London casino and is thrilled when she is assigned to a private party he is hosting. Here is a chance to bring the Casino King down.

I had very mixed feelings about this story, Kate was argumentative, sarcastic and self righteous. I understood her anger, but even Jake has told her Mr. Doyle wasn't responsible. Rey Doyle intrigued me and I found myself enjoying his character more and more. This is a novella with romance and heat.......just not a very nice heroine. She does redeem herself near the end and I found the ending enjoyable.

Rey is a tycoon from the wrong side of the tracks who believes that trusting anyone can be your downfall. But when a business deal requires him to look like a family man, he hires Kate to be his long time girlfriend. What he doesn't know is that Kate has her own motives for working at his casino. \

After nursing her injured brother back to health, the journalist goes on a mission to ruin the one man that got her brother hurt. Soon Kate and Rey find themselves in a relationship that neither of them expected or wanted but it happened just the same.

The passion and mystery in this novella was both thrilling and captivating. I couldn't put this book down. The writing style of this author was so on point that I didn't feel like I was reading a novella but more a full length novel which is very hard to do. The characters were developed to perfection and the sex was panty melting.

Personally I would gladly read any book that this author comes out with next. This is the perfect example of what a novella should be! I couldn't ask for anything more.

It’s said that revenge is a dish best served cold. That may be true, but how can anything stay cold around a hot alpha male like Rey Doyle. Certainly not Kate Wilkinson that’s for sure. She should be keeping her cool, remembering how he injured her brother, how she intended to bring him down as the sleazy, corrupt monster that she knew he had to be. How was she supposed to do that when she melted in his arms like an ice cream cone in the summer heat? She never should have agreed to this pretend girlfriend crap. She knew it, but it was the perfect way to get close enough to learn the truth about him, to get the dirt she needed for her expose. Just… why did he have to be so nice at times, so sexy?

I enjoyed A Deal with the Devil. It’s not easy to change your mind about someone, especially when that person hurt someone you love. Kate tries so hard to hold on to her hatred of Rey, but she can’t overlook the good guy underneath the surface that he shows to most of the world. He’s not what she expected and she never, ever expected to fall for him.

Layered people fascinate me. Sure, we’re all layered to some degree – but there are those that just go to a deeper level. Maybe for survival, maybe because of past hurts. Yet I loved the layers to Rey. I wouldn’t call him an easy man, I would call him a deeply layered man and the more layers I discovered the more I enjoyed his story.

Let’s face it. We all love a hot, alpha male and his beautiful, secy lady. If these are the types of couples you love to read about then go out and pick up a copy of A Deal with the Devil. You’ll enjoy these two. I’ve come to expect a happy ever after – it’s why I read Romance. I love it when I can fall in love with the characters, see them as people and cheer when they find their own happy future. If that is what you look for in a story – then this one is for you, too. Definitely recommend for readers of all kinds of love stories.

Rey can tell that something is not quite what it seems when it comes to Kate, but there is an undeniable pull to each other that neither of them can resist.

As the hidden truths about each of them come to light, they can only hope that what they feel is enough for them to have a future together.

After Ryan, her seventeen year old brother, is seriously injured in an illegal bare knuckle fight, journalist Kate Wilkinson decides to go undercover to investigate the fight promoter, Rey Doyle. She’s determined to expose his illegal businesses and goes to work in his casino as a waitress. Ex boxer and casino tycoon Rey trusts no one but needs someone to play the role of his fiancé to help secure a business deal and Kate’s there. This gives her greater access to Rey and his business than she’d ever dreamed of but there’s a big catch - they’re mutually attracted to each other. Will he trust her? Will she trust her heart or bring him down?

Packed with lies and deceit, this dark story explores the undercover world of organised bare knuckle fighting and gambling. It raises questions about the impact of lies on relationships and shows that sometimes all is not as clear cut as we’d like it to be. This is an engaging story, well written with plenty of emotional turmoil, strong characters and a great romance. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it.

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too,

Absolutely love the International Bad Boy series...

I have to say that I liked this story. Rey is a former fighter turned casino owner and Kate is a journalist. Kate starts working at Rey's casino with the intent of exposing his underground fight club after her brother is seriously injured while fighting there. As Kate gets to know Rey she sees where he comes from and what makes him the man he is today. She eventually has to make a decision as to what type of story she will write about Rey. The characters in this story fall for each other rather quickly...so if you are one that doesn't like that type of story this may not be for you. I thought it was well written and I enjoyed seeing Kate peel back the layers that were Rey.

Another hit for me with the International Bad Boys!!
This is book 6 in the multi-author collaboration published by Tule Publishing. All of these stories can be read as standalones and in no particular order.
This story was kinda cute for me. We have a casino owner with more secrets than the CIA and a journalist posing as a waitress who's only goal is to bring said casino owner down. Yeah, sparks are gonna fly one way or another !!
OK, so this isn't anything new that hasn't been written before, so there's not much I need to tell you that you can't already figure out, plot wise. But what I CAN enlighten you on is how very well these two characters were defined in the story. It's short, so you won't get a huge development, but what you do get, is what's most important. Kate is looking for someone to blame for her brother's death and Rey just happens to fit the bill. Rey needs a fiance like yesterday, and Kate seems to fit the bill. But what starts as two people using each other for their own means turns into a really heartwarming love story! #TRUST ARC kindly provided by Tule Publishing for an honest review.

I thought this series had 3 books, but evidently there is more to it, including this offering from Louisa George. It's a good, solid read, a well balanced novella and it stands alone. The premise was interesting, and the author did a good job telling a complete story in this limited format. The pacing was even, the story well plotted, and the happily ever after quite satisfactory. I'd read more from Louisa George.

The story of how Rey and Kate deal with issues of trust, violence, and outside influences in their lives and relationship.
Well written love story highlighting issues around gambling and undercover bare knuckle fighting with the repercussions it has

If you're into a bit of intrigue with your romance, this novella might be just the ticket. Predominantly set in a London casino the story of journalist Kate Willoughby and casino owner Rey Doyle had me turning the pages.
I thought author Louisa George did a good job of portraying Kate as a rather nervous journalist with a vested interest in bringing down Rey after her brother is seriously injured in a fight at an illegal fight club she believes Rey runs. Rey too is portrayed well as a complex character with much more depth than Kate has been expecting.
The storyline is a little bit improbable but that is easy to gloss over and the tension between these two develops nicely as the book progresses. Worth reading and I'll be looking for more from this author.

This book was a good book. It was a quick, easy read that I enjoyed. There was a good story line to it. It was easy to follow and had some suspense to keep me reading and wanting more.

The only thing I would like different is a little more back stories on the characters, especially Jake.

This was a quick little read. Nothing earth shattering, overly angsty, or disgustingly fluffy.

Rey Doyle is a fighter who has transitioned into owning casinos. He still occasionally fights, and even runs an underground fight club. Kate's under age brother got hurt at the fight club and she's decided he needs to pay for it since he is the source behind it, so she goes undercover at the casino to get the info she needs to write a scathing expose. Here's Kate's problem, she quickly learns things are not as they seem. Life is not black and white and while yes, he runs an underground fight club, he also helps street kids who have no where to go and he has a tortured past that still haunts him. Kate learns all this while pretending to be his girlfriend cause Rey is trying to close a deal for another casino.

There's a bunch of lies being told here and a lot of insta-love flowing. But honestly, it was just what I needed today :)

Rey learned early on in life to fight for what you want. Starting out as a boxer, he has worked hard for his money. He is now the owner of four casinos, two in London and two in Las Vegas. He is in the process of opening another in Macau.
Rey is advised he needs to present a respectable image to the clients from Macau when they are in town to discuss the new casino. Having a woman in his life would be a big benefit right now. But he has never been known to keep any woman around for very long. This is where Kate comes in and Rey asks her to pose as his girlfriend during the meetings.
Kate's protectiveness towards her brother is believable, and how she reacts to his situation is believable. She loses a bit of perspective because she is so determined to seek revenge...but she ends up finding so much more than she anticipated!
Kate and Rey are both attracted to each other, but reluctantly so for very different reasons. How they were together was both entertaining, hopeful, hot, and heart warming. But could it last? Kate's hiding something big from Rey, and will she use what she finds out against him despite how she feels emotionally towards him.
The hero and heroine were both unbelievable will they turn and trust each other and will they get together

Kate Wilkinson had vowed to revenge her brother’s near-death experience in a fight club. So she took an undercover mission – busting through the Casino King’s lair, and pretend that she was a waitress. But when she finally met Rey Doyle face to face, she got more than she had bargained for. From waiting tables, she became Doyle’s fiance, charming his associates and business partners, and eventually his trust and heart. Caught in a web of deceit, lies and lust, Kate must find a way to forget Doyle, before she gets drowned in his love. A quick read, a promising plot, two level-headed yet stubborn people, a series of lies, one complicated relationship. Yep, that’s about the gist of this book, perfect for an afternoon read. I liked that it wasn’t full of sex-scenes, although it hinted a full-on palpable sexual attraction among the main characters. Dealing with the devil never sounded this exciting! Louisa George made sure that the readers would be left satisfied, but also begging for more.

Kate Wilkerson is on a mission to expose Ray Doyle, who is an ex-boxer and now is a successful casino owner. She is after him because her little brother who she has been raising since her mother passed away from cancer is recovering from being beaten in an underground boxing fight club. She believes the Doyle is the owner of the fight club and by proving he is responsible he could lose his casinos. She goes into his casino as a waitress under cover and somehow she ends up working in the high roller area. When he sees her he is attracted to her but at the same time he feels that something is slightly off about her. Later that night needing someone for a business meeting he is having with some foreign investors he asks her to be his fiancé and she agrees believing that this will get her closer to finding the truth. Going with him to the meeting actually turns out good for her but not so good for him. The new investors take a liking to her so the next few times they are in town they have to make sure they are together. She begins to find more out about his fighting and that he is not such a bad person. This all throws a wrench into her plans because she is starting to feel maybe he did not have anything to do with it. As the story goes along you start to find out about more characters involved in the fight club and the relationship between the two of them become stronger but she still has her doubts though she wants to believe him. The end of the book puts it all together and all of the questions are answered. This is a fast paced and at times fun story. A good book.

I love this International Bad Boy series. I was excited to read about bad boy fighter, Rey. Add in the twist with Kate, bent on seeking revenge. The pace was quick and kept me turning the page. I liked the instant attraction and couldn't wait to see what Kate was going to do.

This was my first Louisa George title, I'll be looking to read more from her.

Let me just say from the beginning that I have never read anything by this author before. However, as soon as I finished this quick read I wanted more. A Deal with the Devil by Louisa George is part of the International Bad Boys Series and while I have only read about half of those novellas, this is by far the best of the ones I have read.

No Royalty or Sheikh who is trying to deal with his lot in life in sight. Instead is one London boxer who had to fight his way out of poverty and abuse. Now Rey is a billionaire casino owner. Kate, an investigative journalist, is out to expose him as an illegal fight club owner. Attraction, mutual likability, not a small amount of lust, and finally love get in the way of the goals that Rey and Kate have.

Without giving away this engrossing story, I will say there is deception, lies, remorse, some steamy scene, and fighting in the rink and love is all part of this nine chapter novella. It read as it is was longer than that so the chapters are long. A Deal with the Devil is very well written with interesting authentic characters that I liked. The fact that the ending felt rushed is the only downside to this book.

A Deal with the Devil is also very different from most of what I have seen published by Tule Publishing. No matter, I would highly recommend it, especially to fans of Katie Reus’s Serafina Casino Series or L. P. Dover’s Series. Louisa George is an author to watch and I truly hope that there are other books coming in the future with the supporting characters.

***3 "PADS" stars from me***

Passion
Attitude
Determination
Sacrifice

I like the way Rey was thinking. His PADS approach was really interesting!!!
But it's better to start talking and i have to start with Kate...

Kate was a journalist and she was sneaking as a waitress to Rey Doyle's casino because she wanted dirt for him!!! You see, Kate was seeking revenge from the notorious cazino king because except this work, he was the owner of an illegal secret fight club in which her baby brother get hurt very badly.

Now, she is pretending someone else and she wants to find everything she can to destroy him... But everything were changing when Rey ask her to pretend his girlfriend for a night and that deal with this devil sealed her fate forever...

The pretending of Rey's girlfriend forced Kate to be more closer to him and to learn things for him that nobody else knew... and that things made her change the bad opinion that she was having for him...

And not only that, but she found herself attacted to this mysterious man and she couldn't resist him...

And how could she??? Rey was handsome, successfull and he knew what he wanted from life... Also he used to be a fighter and deep down inside of him, he was having a golden heart...

But what will happen when Rey finds out the truth???
Will he manage to forgive her or each one of them will take a different path???
Will Kate find the strength to proceed with her previous plan???

Well, this novel was a very quick and interesting reading...
The story was very good and i found myself to enjoy it!!!
The only thing that it didn't thrilled me so much was the tiny space of time that everything happened between them...
It was too much insta-love for reality, but i really had a good time!!!

A Deal With the Devil was a good read. The story kept me engrossed until the end of the book. The story is about a woman seeking revenge against a man, only to find out she was wrong, and fell in love with him. It is about a powerful man who meets a woman and decides to be a better man for her and to stop fighting. They find their HEA.

A very short quick read between Rey and Kate. An enjoyable read.

Copy provided by Netgalley This was a quick read. The were a lot of lies and pretense in the beginning. Kate was pretending to be a waitress to get dirt on Rey Doyle. He is the Casino King. He also runs an underground fight club. Kate's underage brother is seriously hurt during a fight. Kate blames Rey and wants to bring him down. When she gets close to him, she realizes that he is not exactly who or what she believes. Pretty predictable but entertaining. Not much as far a surprises or angst. Quick paced due to the short length. Rey's character had few layers and he had some deep secrets. Kate's character was pretty routine.

A fast paced story of revenge but finding love in the end. Rey needs a fake fiance for a business deal, the perfect stand in,is Kate. Kate is a waitress at Rey's casino, who is seeking revenge on his illicit fight club where her brother was injured. But can they fight off the mutual attraction between them, with their secrets.

Loved the growth of these characters and the protection that Kate showed for her brother. This is a big story in a short book, that you will not be able to put down.

What is it about bad boys? Maybe some women can't resist the allure because it makes them feel free and wild, maybe they think they can be the one to tame them or change them...maybe they want to fix them or protect them...whatever it is, books, TV, movies, we can't get enough of them. This book isn't going to change the world, but it does make one think about that old saying, maybe it was Confucius, but it goes something like, before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves. Ms George has shown us, seeking love is way better than seeking revenge.

From the publishers Tule Publishing via Netgalley

Kate Wilkinson is an investigative reporter looking for her big break and believes she's found it in investigating Rey Doyle, an ex boxer and now casino owner. Kate believes that his past is even shadier than people suspect, including illegal fight clubs that have had a negative impact on the people that Kate loves. She goes undercover in an attempt to uncover enough to expose him, not expecting to get closer than she dreamt of when Rey needs a fiancee to help close a deal with the Chinese.

Rey's past as a boxer is clear on his face, due to the punches he has taken to win all the titles he did whilst boxing. His interest in fight clubs is on the wane and whilst they have principles and rules, the one time that something went wrong has shaken his belief in the clubs doing good, and he decides to shut them down. He is also trying to win a new contract for Hong Kong, and so needs the backing of the Chinese in order to land the approval. With Kate on the scene instead of his usual waitress, he has to wing it, and finds that Kate is a lot more interesting, but also dangerous than he ever thought possible.

The book shows that there is more to Rey that Kate gave him credit for, and that perhaps her need to expose him is misguided. Since the death of his mother years before, Rey has shut himself off from all but a few people and when he finds that Kate has been investigating him in order to write an expose, then he shuts down even more. It's only the piece she writes subsequent to their breakup that makes him realise what he's missed out on. The novel is a quick read, there are few surprises, but a novel take on a standard romance novel (boxing, casinos, fight clubs etc). Recommended for anyone wanting a decent romance for an afternoon.
