I loved this book! It ticks so many boxes: misery memoir, coming-of-age story, family dynamics, comedy, drama, love story! More than that I loved the quick witted, talented, creative Isis [main character].
Set in the 1980s, this drama pits the harsh urban reality of the inner city against the inherent innocence of youth - with no moralizing or judging. Come as you are - leave how you can.
A real page turner!
