I strongly recommend this book to cozy mystery readers! It's light, easy to read, the characters are believable and easy to relate to in life. The situations they find themselves in are also believable and they do reasonable things to solve problems, not fantasy just true life. Caprice is a great pet owner and throughout the story Smith promotes responsible pet ownership, rescue, and gives some excellent tips on acclimating new pets! I'm trying them as I write this review! Great story, great series, and you need to hurry and pre- order it!

This was my first exposure to Kare Rose Smith and her Caprice De Luca series. The premise of 'staging' is so interesting and the characters are delightful. I feel as if I was way behind the curve not having read previous books in the series, however I appreciated obvious progress in relationships as opposed to an often utilized technique of stringing the readers on book after book. I plan to go back and catch up on this wonderful cozy series!

Caprice DeLuca’s life is a tad complicated at the moment. She’s torn between two different lovers, her grandmother is getting weaker and her uncle is causing no end of problems. A job staging the home of an 80’s rocker should be just the thing to keep her mind off the mess that is her life. Unfortunately the rock stars girlfriend is a poisonous little toad with odious taste and tries to upstage Caprice. When the toad is found strangled with the tie back from one of her own tacky drapes, Caprice can’t say she’s sorry to see the last of her, still, no one deserves to be murdered. As Caprice pokes around to discover what really happened, she’s unaware that her snooping is putting her squarely in a killer’s sights

Drape Expectations is a mystery that leaves cozy lovers and animal lovers begging for more. Filled with food, family (both 2 and 4 legged), friends, and suspense, the 4th Caprice De Luca Home Staging mystery is a terrific addition to the series. *For newcomers to the series, home staging is the decoration and setup of a home to highlight its best features and facilitate a sale.

As a favor to her friend Ace, a famous musician, Caprice agrees to stage Alanna's home. She quickly learns that beneath Alanna's southern charm lies a demanding and selfish woman. Even her beautiful Persian cat, Mirabelle receives little attention and affection. When Ace discovers Alanna dead the day after a very public quarrel, the police suspect him of murder. He asks Caprice for help finding the truth. With Grant as backup, and possibly more, Caprice digs into Alanna's life discovering secrets and plans that provide several with a motive for murder - and a motive for stopping Caprice's investigation permanently.

One aspect of the novel I loved was the attention paid to Caprice's relationship with her pets. Her efforts to integrate Mirabelle into her household are familiar to those of us with multi-pet households. I liked how Caprice not only spent time training her puppy Lady (using only positive reinforcement) but also took time to bring her to the dog park, etc. Caprice's pets are clearly part of her family, as much as her relatives are. The author does a wonderful job bringing Caprice and her family to life. As an animal lover, I like books where pets are more than window dressing and are given proper care and attention.

Drape Expectations is an entertaining light mystery with an appealing heroine, cute pets, and very little violence. It is a good choice for mystery lovers of all ages - particularly pet loving ones. As an added bonus, there are delicious recipes included at the end.

Drape Expectations is the 4th Caprice De Luca home staging mystery. The books do not have to be read in order.

Drape Expectations is available for preorder and will be released July 28, 2015.

I love the Caprice DeLuca series. She is an intelligent, feisty and determined woman who will stop at nothing to protect her friends and family when needed. She is also a loving daughter and sister with a big, kind heart towards all animals . Caprice works as a home stager and when her friend and former client rock star Ace Richland asks her to stage the home of his fiancée Alanna, Caprice cannot say no. Alanna is a diva, difficult to work with and Caprice is shocked to hear her planning with Ace's bandmate to sabotage his tour in order to get him to retire. When Alanna is found murdered Ace becomes the prime suspect and Caprice is drawn into the investigation to help him. It is a puzzling mystery with lots of family love and drama and a sufficient helping of romance for Caprice to keep me turning the pages,

A wonderful addition to a series that is fun to read. It's like visiting old friends. This is the book where Caprice decides between hunky doctor Seth and equally hunky lawyer Grant. A cozy mystery with enough twists to keep you guessing, a touch of romance, and a heroine who is intelligent, spunky, fun, and often stubborn enough that she isn't always as careful as she could be. If you haven't read the other books in the series. I would recommend that you do. The background of the characters flows from one story to the next.

I absolutely LOVED every minute of this book. While I had figured out many of the twists in this book I was completely surprised by the reveal of the murderer. I am excited to see what lies ahead for this great cast of characters.

This is the first book I've read in this series, and I'm definitely hooked on it. There is a love triangle, but it is resolved by the end of the book, so I can overlook it. :)

Caprice stages homes to help sell them, and in the course of her job she manages to discover dead bodies--and then feels compelled to solve the crimes. She is also an animal lover, as are the majority of the other characters in the story, so we are introducted to a variety of pets as well as people. Caprice's Nana is one of my favorite characters, with her kitten and her wonderful words of advice.

The mystery is very well played out, with red herrings and honest clues all along the way. The relationships between Caprice, Seth and Grant are honestly written, with all of Caprice's doubts and concerns about each one as she tries to choose between them.

Can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

Caprice DeLuca is a very busy young lady. Her profession of staging houses for clients who are attempting to sell their homes seems to bring her into many interesting situations. As in previous books, this book is doesn't fail to provide. Karen Rose Smith, an animal lover herself, shares with us Caprice's love for animals too, Along with family and the fact Caprice adopts her clients as family, you can be guaranteed to get that warm and fuzzy feeling. Will the answer to Caprice's romantic relationship be found this time around? Time will tell. How will Caprice solve the who done it can only draw the reader to not be able to put the book down. As the previous books in this series, it is an enjoyable read and will leave you wanting for the release of the next book in the series.

Caprice is a home stager who is doing a friend a favor by getting his girlfriends house ready for sale. When that girlfriend is murdered, he is the prime suspect for murder. This is book 4 in the series and Caprice is getting pretty good at solving the murder. I haven't read the previous books but had no problem with the cast of characters. A nice cozy read with a touch of romance.

. Once again Caprice gets draped into a murder investigation and that’s when this wonderful adventure takes hold of my attention. This whodunit had a nice pace and a comfortable tone that added to my reading pleasure. The mystery had me quickly turning the pages as the author had a way with presenting this story that put me right in the middle of all the action. I enjoyed watching how this all played out with some surprising twists and turns that eventually lead to the identity of the killer. Caprice is a fun character and I’m so happy a resolution was made in her personal relationship. This is a good mystery with a good plot, great cast of characters, engaging dialogue that entertained me throughout. I look forward to more exciting adventures with Caprice and her friends.

In this book Caprice tries to help her friend Ace when his girlfriend is murdered and he is a suspect. It seems a lot of bad things are happening to Ace, like his guitars getting stolen and other things and Caprice wonders if that is a clue. His girlfriend also had a sordid past and Caprice tries to unravel it. Meanwhile, Caprice comes to a decision about where she wants her love life to go. She also has to smooth out the rough waters in her family when her uncle shows up. She also saves herself from the murderer this time, which was a great thing. Very enjoyable book and looking forward to seeing where Ace's life goes as well as Caprice and the rest of the gang.

This is the first book that I have read in this series and I enjoyed it. I will be looking forward to new books in this series, as well as catching up on the previous books. I enjoyed meeting the characters and found them to be complex and real.

Caprice De Luca enjoys her career as a home stager in the small town of Kismet, Pennsylvania, but is wary of her newest client. She agrees to help Alanna Goodwin sell her home, only as a favor to Ace Richland, a prior client and friend. Alanna is difficult to work with, but when Alanna is murdered, Caprice is saddened and also worried about her friend Ace, who seems to be the main suspect. Caprice is determined to find out who is really responsible for Alanna’s death, even if her informal investigation may made her the killer’s next target.

I’ve not read any of the Caprice De Luca Home Staging mysteries before, but “Drape Expectations” is the fourth in the series. I was able to quickly get to know Caprice and her friends and family. Caprice is a free spirit, preferring Beatles t-shirts and flats to business suits and heels, but she is intelligent and creative and makes an excellent amateur sleuth. I love seeing Caprice interact with her family since they are all there to support each other in times of trouble. Caprice is also right in the middle of a love triangle. She would love to see if she could make a relationship work with Dr. Seth Randolph, but he is away in Virginia for a one-year fellowship and his future plans are unsettled. She has known Grant, who is now an attorney, since he roomed with her brother Vince in college, but recently their long-time friendship seems to have potential to become much more.

I found the mystery to be interesting and Caprice a refreshing and likeable character. The dialogue is well-written, although some of the transitions between the characters’ conversations and the book’s narrative could sometimes be smoother. However, I enjoyed the book and would love to see what happens next for Caprice. I enjoyed reading about her custom-themed open houses, which are really spectacular real estate events, and this unique profession makes an interesting addition to the story. Cozy mystery lovers will like this clever, fun-to-read mystery.

I received an ARC of of this book from NetGalley via publisher Kensington books for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

This is the 4th book in the Caprice De Luca Mysteries Series by Karen Rose Smith, and another fun addition to this series. I have really loved reading all of the books in the series. I have enjoyed the characters and their pets, which are very believable and relatable. Karen Rose Smith is amazing at character building and plot building. I am always amazed that I have a hard time pegging the "who done it" of these books, which I thoroughly enjoy! I especially loved the storyline between Caprice and Seth and Caprice and Grant in this book. I knew who I wanted Caprice to end up with, but it didn't seem that it would ever happen and until the end I wasn't sure which way it was going to go. I think the way Karen Rose Smith handled the love triangle aspect of the storyline was perfect.

There are also some terrific recipes in the back of the book.

All-in-all, another awesome book in the series! I can't wait until May 2016 when Book 5 in the series, Silence of the Lamps, gets released!

A good cozy mystery, that had me guessing until the end. Lots of red herrings that led me astry. My copy had lots of parts in italics, which confused me a bit, since I didn't know if they were flashbacks or thoughts, etc. Also, not sure of the point between having Seth and Grant in the background. I actually liked the cop better as a possible love interest, but this is the first book I've read in the series, so that might make a difference. I would recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. Cozy mysteries are my favourite genre and this book doesn't disappoint. Karen Rose Smith creates characters that draw you in, and you find yourself emotionally invested in them. Drape Expectations is the 4th book in this series about Caprice De Luca, Home Staging Mystery Series. I enjoyed it so much I am going back to read the first 3 in the series, and can't wait for more!

If you love cozies as much as I do, this is a series you should definitely check out!

Caprice Deluca was asked to stage a house for Ace Richland's ( an 80's rock star) girlfriends house. Alanna is a tout cookie and not only does Caprice stage her house but finds out what a horrible person she is. She is the person we love to hate, but when she is found strangled Caprice goes on the hunt. Beside staging house, deciding which guy she wants to be with, and trying to help Ace, and her family issues she has a lot on her plate. the police are not happy she is asking questions and someone is trying to get rid of her. She still stands strong in the end.
This book was fun to read and it kept me interested and intrigued.

Cozy characters that interact well make this an easy read but not an easy solve mystery!

Caprice DeLuca's decorator services include home staging. When rock star Ace Richland asks Caprice to work for his fiancé, Caprice arrives to find Alanna strangled to death in her home, and Ace is a prime suspect.

Caprice, along with her entourage of pets, investigates to prove Ace innocent and finds herself in danger.

In her personal life, Caprice must choose between her student doctor boyfriend, Scott, and her brother's former college roommate and now lawyer, Grant. She's turning 33 and it is time to commit to the life she wants - when she can figure out what that is.

Great series.
