Description

Once upon a time, poor little rich girl Zelda Madison wanted someone to love her, until she discovered being a badass was much more fun.

Ten years after getting kicked out of convent school and torn away from her three best friends, Zelda has worked hard to clean up her act, but her wild streak has never been completely tamed and — one midnight swim on Manhattan Beach later — she’s suddenly in urgent need of a knight in shining armor…

Hard-working legal aid attorney Tyrone Sullivan is the last guy she should call. Not only does he hold a grudge when it comes to Zelda leading his little sister astray all those years ago, he’s also supremely pissed about having to rescue a runaway supermodel from a Brooklyn police station at two am. But when Ty reluctantly agrees to bust Zel out of her ivory tower and let her hide out on his house barge for a few days, she shows him the wild side he didn’t know he had.

Zel discovers there’s nothing hotter than tarnishing a good guy’s armor… Until he starts to steal her bad girl’s battered heart…

Once upon a time, poor little rich girl Zelda Madison wanted someone to love her, until she discovered being a badass was much more fun.

Ten years after getting kicked out of convent school and torn...

She loves her job because it involves sitting down at her computer each day and getting swept up in a world of high emotions, sensual excitement, funny feisty women, sexy tortured men and glamorous locations where laundry doesn’t exist … Not bad, eh.

The second book in the Fairytale of New York series, Tempting the Knight ticked all the boxes in what I love to find in a sexy, romantic read. You can't go wrong when it's the best-friend's older brother trope, particularly when the older brother is a knight in shining armour to a woman he's not so fond of.

"Not a lot of fairytale princesses got caught skinny dipping in Brooklyn Bay."

Heidi Rice has done a superb job in bringing the classic fairytale feel to modern day New York and, like Rapunzel, Zel has the hair and is pretty much trapped in an ivory tower. I adored her and Ty; loveable and with a heated chemistry, they create plenty of passion, fun and some lovely touching moments. And with the emotion brought by their pasts, I found myself completely immersed in their journey.

"...as God in his infinite wisdom made you so shaggable, I considered it my divine duty to jump you at the first opportunity."

Halfway through the the series I'm impressed and each character has been endearing in their own way. On to Taming the Beast to see what's in store for Mercy and Sebastian.

I'm really enjoying this series. The stories are hot, sensual, yet loving and tender. The characters have real life issues, they are strong, energetic, loyal, and family matters to them. The stories touch the emotions of the reader, are inspiring, heartening, and uplifting, like the old time fairy tales they remotely resembles.
Zelda lives behind a facade, that the circumstances of her life have built around her. She has been sober for five years, yet the tabloids are writing stories of the opposite, of her wild escapes around the world. Not everything as it seems, though. Zelda is committed to her sobriety, wants more out her life than the modeling career she has had. Life is not easy, the constant rejection from her brother, the only family she has left, has shattered her spirits, making it hard for her to believe in herself as a valuable person. Ty has played the role of the big brother all his life. He is responsible, nurturing, and a planner. He has his own demons he is battling with, his mother's hard life, and her early death, that has left resentment in his mind towards the family pub, and his father. The Labor Day weekend they spent together, is steaming, scorching hot. The chemistry between them is sizzling, and soon deeper feelings come into the picture. The support, loyalty, faith, and devotion the family and the close circle of friends have for each other is admirable. There's a conversation between the two of the brothers, I wept when I read it, it is so honest, moving, and sincere. You can feel the agony and confusion life and love sometimes is. Cause life can be a mess, you can't plan everything, without having the awareness, that life doesn't always follow our plans, a fact this story brings home clearly. Yes, life is a struggle at times, and we fail, but with the love and support, and help from our loved ones, we can survive and prevail just about anything. This story left me with a smile, joy in my mind and a deep sigh. Don't miss this amazing series this summer!

Bestselling author Heidi Rice's Tempting the Knight is the second story in the multi-authored series entitled Fairy Tales of New York, four books about four best friends and the men they hopefully find their happily-ever-afters with. Zel Madison is a highly successful model who is as known for what she does on the runway and in front of the camera as she is for her supposed antics off and away from both. Her best friend's oldest brother has never seen her as anything more than a troublemaker, the bad girl who got his baby sister in trouble when they were in private school, and Zel's own opinion of Ty Sullivan went south as soon as she recognized the judgment on his handsome but disapproving face. Ten years later, Ty reluctantly comes to her rescue and the two get to know each other better when Zel spends the long holiday weekend on his houseboat and forces them to see one another in a completely different light.

Stories involving the sibling of a lead character's best friend are a favorite trope in romance novels, regardless of the age group. The unique thing in this book is that neither Zel nor Ty had any secret, forbidden crush on the other. In fact, their opinion of one another is largely negative, save for the fact that they aren't blind to the knowledge of just how good looking the other is. Both the lead characters have had difficult pasts that have shaped them when it comes to their families but in very different ways. I felt bad for Zel because as much as her brother Sebastian may come off as a bastard, I think he actually does love his sister but is still dealing with survivor's guilt. Of course, we'll get to his story next and hopefully all will be resolved between the siblings then. As for Ty, being the oldest child gave him a completely different perspective as to what life was like in their family and he understandably put some blame on his parents.

So far, I've enjoyed the two available books in the series and have the third one waiting to be read and reviewed on my tablet. Zel is a strong heroine, one who has battled her own share of personal demons and continues to do so, and Ty is the kind of hero any girl would love to have, someone who is ready to swoop in and save the day, but watching these two transform and evolve was both fun and sigh-worthy. They were obviously a great couple when everything was good, but reading about how they had to deal with the stuff thrown their way together showcased whether they were worthy of having that "something more" and one that lasted longer than a long holiday weekend. On a side note, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Heidi Rice's dedication suggesting another fairy tale-inspired series set in London with her fellow co-authors will actually push through. ^.^ I'm giving Tempting the Knight four stars out of five! ♥

This is the second in the series and we get to see Zelda's story. The last ten years have not dealt kindly with her since she was expelled from school after the Wine incident. She has no real family to speak of with her parents dead and her brother more or less abandoning her.

But she has friends and when Faith calls her legal brother Ty to get Zelda out of a scrape with the police, it starts something neither Zelda nor Ty expect. Both of them had judged the other and what they found when thrown together was that they were both wrong.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like Zelda to start with but she grew on me. So did Ty...*fans self*. What starts out as two people barely tolerating each other changes almost too fast for either of them to cope.

Loved the way their relationship developed and the background cast, including Dawn and Finn from the first book, were great. We also got to see Zelda's brother Seb, the beast from the next book. Overall this was a more engaging read than I expected with a loverly ending.

Tempting the Knight is the second book in the Fairy Tales of New York Series about 4 women, lifelong friends from boarding school, each with a different background, each with their own path to take but forever bound to each other. Each book is also a retelling of a favorite fairy tale. Zelda Madison has taken her life around despite her destructive ways since she was expelled from boarding school and taken away from her friends who were the closest to family she has ever had. Ten years have passed, with five of those being sober and away from her party girl ways. She has now embarked on a new journey which she celebrated by skinning dipping on a public beach. A phone call later and her less than charming and always judgmental knight in shining armor has come to bail her out. Ty Sullivan has always thought Zel Madision was so not a good influence on her sister when they were younger and this little stunt seems to prove she hasn't really changed much. Never mind that she's gorgeous with all that long golden hair sort of like that Rapunzel and she lives in her ivory tower of privilege which seems to cement that fairy tale for her. But despite the prejudice they have for each other, the spark of attraction continues to flame. For these two the coming long weekend holds more than a promise of sexual satisfaction, it also holds something more than they bargained for.

Tempting the Knight was very ingenious in incorporating the theme of Rapunzel and her being trapped in her ivory tower. The tale was told with a lighthearted tone and details given without becoming to overpowering. Everything just clicked. Ty and Zel had that great chemistry that wasn't coming off too strong in the beginning but just gradually built up leading to the very nice and sweet HEA. Overall this was a quick but completely satisfying read with great dialogue and great characters.

Really loved this story! Zelda may have been a rich, privileged woman, but life hasn't been easy. After the death of her parents her only family, her brother, shoves her into one boarding school after another. To get the attention she so desperately wants, trouble becomes her middle name. Now as an adult, she has even bigger demons to fight but she is pulling herself together. Meeting up with one very sexy Ty Sullivan, her childhood crush, is not in her plans. When the relationship starts to become more than a fling, she runs. Scared of her feelings.

A truly wonderful story full of hope, love, and some very hot sexy times. I definitely recommend this one.

Spunky, sexy, totally badass Zelda Madison was such a refreshing heroine in Tempting the Knight. We have become so used to the strong Alpha male in our reading pleasure – and I certainly intend to continue to enjoy those Alpha men, thank you very much. But it was so amazing and awesome to find such an Alpha woman as Zel… we need more bad girls like her in our reading material. Not a nasty girl, she was never that, but a woman who showed her strength, even in her weaknesses. She is a power to be reckoned with by any man – especially knight in armor, Ty Sullivan.

I believe the reader can easily see just how strong Zel has become, and what she has overcome much easier than Zel can. Of course, that’s the power of the story. She and Ty were so powerful together. Yes, they are definitely in the steamy sexy top ten – but that’s not all they are. Underneath the overpowering sexual tensions between them is also the beginning of acceptance of who they are individually. Both suffer from misconceptions of their past, each has deep regrets that they have and will get past, and in the end taking a chance is always worth the risks and the rewards.

I strongly recommend continuing the Fairy Tales of New York series with Tempting the Knight as quickly as you can get to your favorite retailer. You will find a story that is stunning in its emotional pull, and charming in it’s reversal of the Alpha roles commonly seen between the sexes. It was a delight to see a bad girl get her good man and live happily ever after. Pick this one up and get ready for an amazing ride that you won’t soon forget.

4 - "You only have to promise me tomorrow." Stars!

Book two in The Fairytales of New York series concentrates on Supermodel Zelda Madison and her friend Faith’s oldest Brother, legal aid lawyer Ty Sullivan. Tempting the Knight offers a really great twist on one of my favourite tropes, and I really liked Zel and Ty’s relationship dynamic in this one. Both are pretty strong confident people, they know what they want, and go after it. One very much a planner to the very strongest degree, the other flies by the seat of their pants, always in the midst of chaos, generally the one that started it… Or is she...

Zelda Madison had a wild, reckless streak that was bold, beautiful and exciting.

I think the main thing you grab from this book as Ty and Zelda’s three day sex with no strings agreement progresses, is that appearances can most certainly be deceiving. Known in the modelling world for her hair, Zel is looking to make a few changes in her life, reassessing her worth, considering a different direction, one might say a bit like Rapunzel did after being stuck in her ivory tower for such an interminable amount of time.

I absolutely loved Tyrone, sweet, sexy, with plenty of dirty and a side order of Knight in shining armour just to balance him out.

Tyrone Sullivan was going to be a hard habit to break.

This couple together, and the journey they took; from Ty’s initial inaccurate assumptions, and his discovery that there is in actual fact a lot more to the beautiful woman he is falling for than just a pretty face. To Zel’s fear of taking a step towards a different future, a future that may not mean she is on her own and her gradual acceptance that she may be worthy of love were absolutely engrossing. Add that to some pretty good snark between them and it was the perfect balance of characterisation and storyline for this reader.

”Are you saying you want to cross-examine my underwear counselor?”

The other thing that grabbed me in this book, the elusive and pretty ornery Sebastian Madison, as Zel’s older brother he features a little towards the end of the book, and to say I am intrigued by this Beast of a man would be an understatement… Luckily he along with Mercy get their story told next in Taming the Beast, book three of the The Fairtytales of New York series. Too say I am a tad excited to read a modern day version of my absolute favourite fairy-tale would be a slight understatement!

The second of a series of four girlfriends. I have read three of them now, and this one is probably my favorite so far. The only thing I wish was that it was explained more why going through AA prevented her from wanting a relationship. I didn´t understand that. Otherwise, l liked them together, and the story progressed in a steady and fun way. Ty is the ultimate guy for her, and I highly recommend this story.

The second fairy tale of the “Fairy Tales Of New York” is utterly charming and temptation galore. The Sullivan brothers are just impossible to resist and the four girlfriends are too beautiful and classy not to fall in love with them and their lives.

They say bad girls have all the fun and Zelda Madison is living proof of that. Losing parents at a young age and being ignored by her only brother, she’s got some serious issues with fate that took her to the pinnacle of being a super model. And that same fate lands her in jail and Tyrone Sullivan imprisons her heart.

Tyrone Sullivan has his hands full when he rescues Zelda and a history with her that makes him stand in judgment of her life. Circumstances have Zelda sharing his boathouse and that rocks their lives as they succumb to the attraction. But Zelda has an addictive past that threatens their future, and Tyrone refuses to be anything but her knight in shining armor, supporting her and giving her his heart forever.

Cute, charming and with enough sizzle to zap the brains, Heidi Rice did a great job weaving a fairy tale around Zelda and Ty. Loved the flow of the story and the interconnecting links among the friends. And I loved the emotion packed scenes between Zelda and her beast of a brother!

This is the second book in the Fairy Tales of New York series. The series tells the story of 4 friends who met in boarding school. This is Zel's story.....she is the poor little rich girl with the bad girl image. She has worked hard to try to clean up that image...but she still has a bad girl streak in her that can't be totally tamed. Tyrone Sullivan is Dawn Sullivan’s (from book one) older brother. He is not a fan of Zel’s. He blames her for leading his little sister astray when they were younger. He is not happy about a 2:00 am phone call from the local police precinct. Zel is in need of a “knight in shining armor” and he is the one she called. He reluctantly lets her hide out on his house boat for a few days and Zel shows him a little of the bad girl....which is the opposite of what he is and just what he needs. I enjoyed the interaction between Zel and Ty. They were just what the other needed, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. This is a fun engaging story and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I definitely wasn't wrong when I said this would be a successful series! This second in the series, from Heidi Rice, keeps the promise of the first. Tempting the Knight features a bad girl heroine (she has worked hard to improve her image!) and a gentler hero, not your contemporary norm. It works though. I found this to be a strong, well written selection. The romance was so very satisfying, and the characters so layered and interesting, I kind of hated to see it end. I am however, eagerly awaiting the next book!

do love fairy tales and knights in shining armour and this is a must read if these are up your ally as well this is the second book in the Fairy Tales of New York series and I am loving them.

This is Zelda Madison's story poor little rich girl who believes the only people who care for her are her four best friends Dawn, Mercy, and Faith she met these girls at boarding school and they have been there for her through thick and thin. Zel is a top model for a shampoo company with the best hair but she also has problems that she is strong enough to work with and overcome.

Ty Sullivan is the oldest of the Sullivan siblings a lawyer for legal aide a planner a rescuer all round good guy and Faith's brother and he is rather shocked when supermodel Zel rings him to help her get out of jail and then agrees to help her escape her ivory tower and spend the labour day weekend on his house barge.

This begins a journey to a HEA that will have you smiling and shedding tears of happiness for Zel and Ty as they open up to each like they have never done before and have the most passionate and sensual long weekend with rules attached that Zel says must not be broken. This is a story that yes you will be shedding tears in but you will be smiling the sensual banter between them is just fabulous and the bond they create is so strong and heart-warming.

I highly recommend this story it really is one not to be missed

Second series of Fairy Tales of New York. This one is about Zelda Madison the rebel of the group, who had beauty, money except love from her brother and love for herself. After wine incident , she was expelled from St. J. She was sent to another boarding school in Swiss and became a model. Madison's parents were killed when she was thirteen and her brother Sebastian was only flesh and blood left to her but he did not take care of her, but pushed her away and put her in boarding schools and hoping she will turn out okay. Unfortunately she was not okay and Mercy one of her best friend rescued her when she was in Paris. Now, she is recovering alcoholic ( I wonder why she was drinking Virgin cocktail in Sully's in first book). This becomes bigger problem later one with her relationship with Ty. But she did not enjoy being a model. One night of the Gala that her foundation, she wanted to free herself so she skips the gala and jumps into Manhattan beach and she gets caught. She had to phone Ty, Faith's older brother. Ty remembers Zelda as an arrogant and a trouble maker from St. J's days. He comes and rescues her like a knight at the police station. She is hounded by paparazzi and she just gave up multi-million dollar contract with modeling. She wanted hide from everyone. So she asks Ty if she can crash for until the weekend was over. That's when their whirlwind living arrangement starts. Ty is straight forward kinda guy total opposite of Zelda. He plans everything and he is always right. He is a legal aid lawyer trying to help and despises the pub for taking his mother's life away.
So when Zel asks if she could stay for labor day weekend, But after first night together, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. It suppose to be a fling for the weekend but he falls head over hills for Zelda. But Zelda thought she couldn't handle being loved or being in love. she was afraid her recovery will in the way.. Ty wanted to fix Zel but she couldn't let him be.. So her friends comes to rescue again for both. Can't wait to get into next on the series.. Keeps me guessing who will end up with whom.

4 Being Strong on Her Own Stars * * * *

This book touches on so many things and actually does them well, in my opinion. We have a girl abandoned by her only living relative after the death of her parents. He may have been physically there but mentally he checked out and then joined the French Foreign Legion after he enrolled her in boarding school. This 13 year old girl learns the lesson she doesn't count...and proceeds to act out to try to get some type of attention from the brother she once was close with and loved.

She repeats this pattern all over different European schools and finally lands at St. John's in Upstate New York. She finds friends who mean the world to her; Faith, Dawn and Mercy. They share a dorm and feel like sisters. Things are going great until the night they all got drunk on church wine...and got caught red handed. All of the girls were not going to tell....nope. Never.

While waiting for her punishment to be handed down by Mother Superior, there she sits with her brother. Unfortunately, he is doing the usual; not talking to he and believing the worst. He is not acting like Faith's brother... reassuring her not to worry and they will work it out together no matter what...

Oh how she wishes it were different...and then she looks at Ty, Faith's older brother and sees in his eyes his thoughts... how she wasn't good enough... how this was her fault with all her cocky rich upbringing... She wished she could slap those thoughts out of his head.

Zelda was tired of everyone thinking the worst of her...but after her brother didn't defend her; she decided... she would never care what anyone would think of her again....

Fast forward 10 years and Zelda is back in New York City. She has worked all these years as a very successful model and landed a highly paid Shampoo Contract. Pictures of her are all plastered on buildings, buses, in magazines and on the internet. Her flowing thick locks have made her wealthy in her own right.

She has been planning her escape for 5 years now...no more crazy hours, shoots or being a pawn. She notified the agent and company she was not signing to renew her contract. She felt so free, she decided to do something impulsive... dip into Brooklyn beach at Midnight. There had been no one around and she had her underwear on, so what could be a problem...

The problem was old ladies with nothing to do and calling the cops to be there when she came out of the water. Now she is at the police station and has to decide what to do. She cannot call her brother or his legal team...the publicity would kill...they are always accusing her of being drugged up or drunk when in fact she has been clean and sober for 5 years now. No.... she calls Faith and she gives her the number of her oldest brother who is a Legal Aid Attorney.

Yes, You guessed it... Smug Tyrone... who looked down on her all those years ago.

Tyrone is exhausted. He needs to be fresh to fight for a young mother who may get evicted if he cannot convince the judge to halt the action. This is what he does...he fights for those less fortunate... he believes in the regular guy and has a bit of the reverse snob in him about people with extreme wealth... like Faith's friend, the model Zel or Zelda...

He is called at 2 AM and Zelda with her British/European accent from living abroad most of her life, asks very politely if he could help her. When he hears she is at the station... he cannot refuse.

Zelda needs help more than leaving the station...as she sits and waits for Ty, she comes up with the idea of hiding...and when she explains why to Ty... he decides - fine he will let her.

What neither of them realize is this is their life changing moment for the each of them... Both will learn things about themselves and each other... important things and nothing will be the same again.

I love this series of stories loosely based on Fairy Tales. Each is written by a different author and worked around a different tale. The core is these women who boarded together at this Catholic school; the event of being caught with the church wine and all of them coming back together 10 years later with Scully's pub in Brooklyn with Faith's family as the base. It just works for me.

Each author gives life lessons cloaked in a romance between these women and brothers...If we have been reading the series, then we have grown to know and care about all of the characters. We understand their weaknesses and why... we want to see them happy.

This was a very strong part with Tyrone having to re-examine everything he has thought about Zelda, his life, how he saw his father and family. Deep stuff. Zelda looks to see what she must be willing to accept- that she is worth love; she is strong and proven it and open her self to happiness.

Heidi Rice took these characters and ran with them. I will look for other books by her due to this reading.

We have more coming and we are led seamlessly into it for it will be Mercy's story of Taming the Beast.

Hmmmmm, I wonder if an Ex French Foreign Legionnaire will know what he is up against... Should be fun reading all about it.

I loved this! I've read the other books in this series, and this was my fave of them all.

This second story in the Fairy Tales of New York Series can easily be read as a standalone (though once readers have met the four boarding school friends they'll want to read them all!). This particular story features Zelda, the bad girl of the group and Tyrone, her friend Faith's older brother. When Tyrone reluctantly answers an emergency call from Zelda at the precinct where she's being held on public indecency charges for some midnight swimming, he thinks that he knows everything about this woman and that it's all bad news. But to his surprise, Zelda is much more than he bargained for, including having a heart that's been battered and bruised and in need of some TLC. When Tyrone finds that he wants to be the man to give that to her, Zelda is afraid to accept his overtures at face value. Can she learn to trust this man who embodies a white knight to her damaged princess?

I really enjoyed this bad girl/good guy romance. Zelda has suffered through the childhood trauma of losing her parents, then being abandoned to a life of boarding schools by her brother Seb who couldn't handle the responsibility of a teenage girl. For several years she was on a downward spiral, but with the help of her friend Mercy, she's picked herself up, gotten help with her addictions and is not the woman the press makes her out to be any more. I liked her character, her strength of will, and her friendly and vivacious nature. Beneath her facade of flippancy though is a woman who is still searching for love. Tyrone on the other hand is the quintessential protective alpha male, a lawyer who champions the downtrodden and those in need of legal aid. Meeting Zelda again as an adult, he has expectations that she will be the same spoiled, willful girl she was as a teenager. But as they spend time together he realizes how wrong he's been and how much he has misjudged her. The chemistry between them is smoking hot and leads to several steamy love scenes. What starts out as a weekend fling turns into more for both of them, though Zelda doesn't want to admit that she feels anything for Tyrone as she doesn't want to feel any more vulnerable than she already does. I loved how the plot progressed as they opened up to each and there is a very sweet and satisfying happy ending to their story, with a hint of what's to come for her brother Seb in the next book of the series. 4. 5 stars.

What a great twist on the story of Rapunzel! Zelda Madison lost her parents at a young age and her brother abandoned her, completely ignoring her and her grief. So she did whatever she could for attention, earning her bad girl reputation. A model, known for her hair and contract with a shampoo company, she finally started getting her life together five years ago. Now she is ready to take control, and fires everyone, turning down a new contract. In celebration, she decides to take a late night swim in her undies...and gets picked up by the police. So, she calls her best friend's brother, even knowing he doesn't like her.
Tyrone Sullivan has always thought Zelda was a bad influence on his sister and blamed her when Faith got in trouble at school. A lawyer for Legal Aid, he is determined to right all the wrongs for the underdogs in the world and has no time for the spoiled, badgirl princess who thinks she is above everyone in her Ivory Tower. It doesn't stop him from being attracted to her when he bails her out of jail and grudgingly lets her stay the night on his houseboat. Zel things staying the weekend is the perfect solution to avoiding the paparazzi, and once they give in to chemistry, lays the foundation for a no-stings 3-day affair.
As Ty gets to know her, he finds his perceptions of Zel blown out of the water. Can they make a future work? Can he get past his compulsion to be her knight and let her take the lead toward a HEA?
Zelda is such an amazing character. She has been to hell and back and made it through, to come out stronger and more sure of herself. She finally knows who she is and where she wants to be, and is finally at peace with herself. So much so, that she doesn't feel the need to defend herself or try to change anyone ones perceptions, even Ty's. Ty is such a good man, but he has a chip on his shoulder. He realizes many things while with Zel and isn't afraid to face them.
This is the first time I have read this author, and I am impressed with not only the story and writing, but how neatly and easily it fits into the series.

Tempting the Knight is the second in the Fairy Tales of New York series. I loved the first in the series and couldn't wait to read Tyrone and Zelda's story. I loved the twist of the bad girl/good guy story. Heidi Rice hits the mark with endearing characters dealing with real issues. The combination of a glamorous lifestyle with everyday issues works and had me turning the pages. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from Tule Publishing for an honest review (thank you!). This is the 2nd in the Fairy Tales of New York series and runs right up there as my favorite along with Mercedes and Seb's book. Zelda may deal with a lot of pain and hurt from her past, but she's finding her way and taking back control of her life. She is the exact opposite to a very stuffy and uptight Ty and exactly what he needed to balance his life. He makes some pretty bad assumptions of Zelda and her lifestyle and it was fantastic to read when he realized how wrong he's been and gives into his attraction for her.

Zelda was a complex character. From the outside looking in she had it all. Yet despite the luxuries of growing up with money, she was dealing with issues of abandonment. She projected a devil may care attitude but had deep scars to work through. Tyrone was quick to judge her. As he got to know her he started to realize that she was a deeply troubled person. Tempting the Knight is a story that captures the imagination and steals the heart. Very emotional read.

Zel is a model, is rich and beautiful and broken. He parent's died in a car accident when she was 13, he brother Seb turned all his guilt inside and pushed her away. She was an inconvenience to him so she rebelled.

At 26 she is clean and sober for 5 years. No one really knows this except for her closest friends Mercy, Faith and Dawn. One night she foregoes an event she was supposed to attend. She ends up getting a citation from the police because she decided to go swimming in her panties at a beach she thought was deserted. She calls Ty, her friend Faith's brother, an attorney.

She doesn't want to go home because she knows the press will be there so she talks Ty into letting her sleep on his sofa for the night They have a strong attraction towards one another and end up having sex. The next morning she asks him if she can stay for the long weekend (it's Labor Day weekend) so they can explore this attraction they have.

It of course has stipulations. When the weekend is over so will they be. No calls, no contact. Zel feels this is the only was it can be as she has to concentrate on her sobriety, nothing can compromise that. Ty doesn't know about her substance abuse.

Over the weekend that changes, especially for Ty. He really gets to know this woman who he only thought as a rich princess. She didn't have many of the experiences that kids have because her parents didn't think it was proper, she also didn't have loving parents.

Can Ty convince Zel they are worth a chance?

Ty is the oldest brother of 5 kids and he was always the one making sure the others kids were all right. He always had a plan for life but lately he didn't understand what had happened. All he did was work all day and work even more when he got home. He didn't even have time to date.

Zel slips into his heart, as he does hers, and he wants more. Can he do it without having to be the one take care of everything. Can he let her do what she has too?

I did enjoy this book. Ty was shocked after he found out about her substance abuse and thankfully he realized it was over his head and went to talk to one of his brothers, Finn. He reminded Ty that her sobriety wasn't something he could take care of, it was something she had to deal with and that it would frighten her if he tried to. Ty actually researched the subject, talked to someone from Al-Anon, went to a meeting. He wanted to be prepared when he went back to plead his case to Zel.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

he second book in the Fairy Tales of New York, loosely based on Rapunzel. Zelda is fighting many demons in her life, including addictions. Ty is an older brother of her high school friend, ten years they reconnect, but neither do relationships, so a three day fling would be perfect with many rules. The sexual chemistry is hot, between the two is hot but once feelings come into play, Zelda runs. Can Ty get Zelda to break the rules into a lasting relationship.

I am so enjoying this series. I highly recommend. I encourage you to read in order.

Tempting the Knight is the second book in the Fairy Tales of New York series and I really enjoyed this addition. Zelda was the girl who acted out for attention when she was growing up, so she got a bad rep. Well, once she hit rock bottom she brought herself back up but her reputation still is a party girl model. Tyrone is a legal aid attorney and isn't too happy when he gets woken up in the middle of the night by his sister's friend Zelda, who needs to be bailed out of jail. He bails Zel out of jail and they end up spending the long weekend together. What starts as no strings attached fun turns into something more serious, but only Ty is willing to admit it. I sympathized for Zelda immensely. Her parents died and her brother shut himself off completely. All she wanted was to be loved, but years of rejection from her brother made her see herself as unlovable. Ty was the perfect guy to break down her walls and convince her to let him in. This was a great modern fairy tale and gets 4.5 stars from me.

Oh, what a great read. This is book 2 of the Fairy Tales of New York Series. The series is about four friends, Faith, Mercy, Dawn and Zelda. They went to boarding school together for some times, before the proverbial shit hit the fan and they were all split up. Now, ten years later, after years of seeing each others to some extent, they have reconnected and Dawn is seeing one of Faith's brother, Finn.

In this novella, we catch up with Zelda, the wild supermodel, alcoholic in recovery. Thirteen years ago, Zelda lost her parents in a car accident involving her brother Seb. Seb decided to ship her out to boarding school rather than keeping her with him. After that, Zelda's life became a big attempt to get his attention. Now, that time is over and she's trying to keep her life on the straight and narrow, which is not always so simple. When in new, she calls Ty, Faith's older brother, Legal Aid lawyer and all around White Knight In Shining Armor. Ty thinks Zel is the worst. Despite his judgement, the chemistry is so hot between them that he can't resist.

I really liked this story. Zelda is a recovering alcoholic and the author doesn't skim over the effects this has on her psyche and her life. Still, it shows in the novella what a strong person you have to be the stay on the road to sobriety and I was so glad to see a MC with real stuggles despicted in a believable way. Ty is part asshole, part prince and wow. Really, what do these Irish men have that we can't resist?

As for the fact this is part of a series, I really really recommend reading Pursued by the Rogue before going for this one. I don't say it wouldn't be enjoyable, but I think for me it would be a 3 1/2 stars instead of a 5 so be warned!

Tempting the Knight (Fairy Tales of New York Book 2) by Heidi Rice does for adult readers what Disney’s Tangled did for kids. It is a marvelous version of the Rapunzel tale. I really like the idea that in contemporary time, Rapunzel would be a model.

Zelda has lost her parents at a young age. While there is not evil witch who had stolen her, her childhood certainly changed for the worse when this happened. Tyrone Sullivan, Faith’s brother, becomes a reluctant Prince Charming, which I find amusing. I love that she is not a shrinking violet but has a take-charge type of personality.

This is the first book I have read by Heidi Rice but I enjoyed it immensely. Recommend this book to all who like always wanted to change up the original tale. I truly hope that Ms. Rice continues to write for Tule Publishing. This novella show her to be a perfect fit with the kind of stories they do best.

4.5 Stars The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.

The story about good guy Ty and bad girl Zel. Zel is tired of life in the fast lane, of keeping up appearances and so she's decided to quit her modeling career by taking a midnight swim on Manhattan beach. A couple of hours later she finds herself using her one phone call to contact Tyrone Sullivan, lawyer and brother to her best friend Faith, someone who has a huge chip on his shoulder for something that happened many years ago. He is her only chance to get out of jail without causing a huge media storm and the means to lay low until everything blows over.

But close proximity forces them to learn things about the other that neither if them knew. And Ty might just be the knight she's been waiting since forever to rescue her.

I thought this was a very cute retelling of a favorite childhood fairy tale. I did like Zelda and her reformed bad girl ways. Great secondary characters as well.

Zelda Madison wanted someone to love her; following the death of her parents and the subsequent abandonment by her brother, the pre-teen learned that being a tough as nails bad girl was way better.

Ten years after getting kicked out of convent school and having one too many downs, with the help of her friend, she's worked hard to turn her life around. But one impromptu swim on Manhattan Beach and she's in need of rescuing.

Tyrone "Ty" Sullivan is the last guy she should call; Ty really does not like Zelda, following and event involving communion wine and his little sister Faith ten years ago.

Soon the bad girl and the golden boy are coming together in many ways, finding that opposites do attract and that love is worth fighting for.

The way they come together and tear away their preconceived notions of each other had you flipping the pages like there is no tomorrow. Zelda's story is so heart wrenching, despite growing up in luxury, there was one thing she couldn't buy. Romance lovers will really enjoy book two in the Fairy Tales of New York and will fall in love with these characters.

Loved this book!

The Fairy Tales of New York series starts with the same life-changing event in the lives of 4 misfit friends - propelling them into different life trajectories. There is a nod to famous romantic fairy tales but it is subtle and not too domineering in the story. There is a common thread of insta-love/lust that jumpstarts all the relationships but the interwoven stories and well-written characters (main and supporting) do the series justice.

The second one in the series gives a nod to Rapunzel and deals with Zel and Ty...a seemingly flighty model and a very responsible lawyer. Both have demons they are running from and scars that drive them. A hot weekend together and defenses come crashing down. A lot of self-discovery and realization. Deeper, in a sense, than the first one.

This is a great addition to The Fairy Tales of New York series.
Heidi Rice gave us likable characters and a story that was passionate and touching.
The best-friend's older brother trope is one I enjoy a lot and with a buttoned-up man and a whirlwind woman as our H/h, the story sparked in all the right places!

Tempting the Knight is book #2 in The Fairy Tales of New York series.

The all world think that Zelda is another spoiled supermodel that is always looking for trouble but the truth is that she has cleaned up her act a few years ago but the media and Zelda's brother Seb are sure she is still the wild party girl she was when she was younger.

Tyrone Sullivan always held Zelda Madison responsible for his sister Faith getting in trouble in school and she is the last person he was expecting to ask for his help in the middle of the night.

As much as Ty is sure that Zelda is bad news for him and his family he has a strong attraction to her and when she ask him to stay in his house barge for a few days he just can't help acting on his attraction.

The more time Ty and Zelda spend together the more Ty realize that the real Zelda is nothing like the media version but can they have a real chance in love?

I enjoyed reading about Ty and Zelda especially when Ty got to know the real Zelda and not the spoiled full of trouble supermodel that he thought she is.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

I really like Zelda. She has so much in her life that should keep her down, but she clawed her way back and became really awesome. And Ty? Obviously damaged in his own right, but these two just work well together. It bothered me that Seb couldn't be there for Zel, but I know it's only a matter of time before someone calms him down.

I like this series...it's adorable and I like seeing the girls' friendships reconnected.

Then Zelda acts up and eventually ends up in a convent school where she makes three great friends. But then after a misadventure Zel is kicked out of school and her friend Faith’s big brother Tyrone blames Zelda. Ten years later Zel is a successful model and landed a highly paid shampoo contract. She let her agency know that she would not be renewing her contract. It took her five years to free herself and to celebrate she decides to take a swim at Brooklyn beach at midnight.f course she is caught and arrested by the police. She calls faith who gives her Tyrone's number who is now a legal aid lawyer and she calls him at two am, he does bail her out and lets her hideout with him which ends up with them having a strings sex weekend. But Tyrone starts to care but Zelda is afraid of being hurt.
Excellent story and plot. Really kept you reading this story. I could not put this done until I was done. I also loved the characters especially Zelda and all the ups and downs she went through. I felt bad for Zelda’s character. So this is an excellent read as far as I am concerned. I highly recommend.
