To Love a Texas Cowboy is the first book in the new contemporary cowboy romance series entitled Wishing, Texas from author Julie Benson. Cassie Reynolds and Ty Barnett are entrusted with the care of Ella Mitchell, the six-year-old daughter of Cassie's older sister and brother-in-law and Ty's business partner and close friend, respectively, after they both pass away. Ty is in charge of overseeing Ella's financial future while Cassie handles everything else, but the two are constantly at odds. This is a love story about two seemingly different people who are able to find something in common--their love and concern for Ella--and discover that what makes them different is what balances them both out perfectly.
There's quite a bit of bickering between Cassie and Ty, so this definitely feels like a enemies to lovers romance. It takes a good while for them to find some common ground, but when they do, there's still hesitance to actually cross that line between being co-guardians to more. Family is obviously important to both of them and I liked how these two were able to come together in order to have a united front in caring for Ella. I would have wanted maybe a bit more on Cassie's family history, especially since her relationship with her father could have used more delving into. All in all, To Love a Texas Cowboy was a sweet and sassy story with characters that you can't help but like for their being fun and feisty. This gets four stars. ♥
I loved this one and I am looking forward to more in this series. This is my first book by this author and I was impressed with her writing style, character development, and pace of the story. She's definitely gained a new fan.
This book is the story of Cassie Reynolds. A single woman who is an artist and was living alone in NY until the unexpected death of her sister and her husband leaving Cassie's young niece to raise. Now she's living in Texas, struggling with sudden motherhood, doing it alone, and being completely over her head. To make matters worse (or better), her niece's financial health is being overseen by Ty Barnett. A local opinionated rancher who has his own ideas about how young Ella should be raised!
It's a great story and so fun to watch how this forced relationship develops. I definitely recommend this one.
Cassis was scared, overwhelmed with grief and fear that she just couldn’t do this. She was Ella’s guardian now, she could no longer be the adoring, spoiling aunt of the past – she had to set rules and schedules and so many things that she never thought she’d have to do. Like put up with an overbearing, proud, handsome cowboy who didn’t think she could do a thing right, ever. And to think she’d be paired with Ty for a dozen years as Ella’s co-guardians. Oh sure, Ty was to look after her niece’s financial future but when had that line ever stopped this opinionated cowboy?
Ty knew how to take control and get the job done. He’d done that his entire life. Although how in the world was he supposed to look after his goddaughter, Ella when her flighty, artist and completely clueless on child raising aunt would be a major part of his life until Ella turned 18. Okay, so she was cute in a willowy artsy way, but she had no idea how to live an east Texas life that Ella was born and raised in. So what if he found her attractive, he wouldn’t act on it – maybe.
The Wishing, Texas series has a fantastic start with To Love A Texas Cowboy. Two people who love a little girl who has lost both of her parents in a tragic plane crash have to find a way to live in close contact. They have been given the loving task of seeing Ella grow into adulthood, emotionally and financially secure. And they also have to find a way to combat Cassie’s worries about not knowing what to do with Ty’s opinionated, strict by the book attitude toward just about everything. Opposites attract? Oh, definitely.
It was a pleasure to watch Cassie grow into her own confidence. And I have to admit to being quite gleeful seeing Ty taken down a peg or two along the way. The chemistry between them works so well. These three will make a new family – and it is a fun adventure watching that journey take place in To Love A Texas Cowboy. I highly recommend this novel and encourage you to get in on the beginning of what promised to be a sexy, lively and entertaining series. Sit back and indulge yourself.
*I received an e-ARC of To Love A Cowboy from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
Cassie and Ty are in a difficult situation, taking care of a little traumatized Ella, while mourning for Ella's parents. They tackle the situation and responsibility in an admirable way, despite the doubts Cassie have about her ability to be a parent.
The fireworks between Ty and Cassie are amazing. Though they drive each other insane, they have a spark between them, if you would call a bomb a spark...
The chemistry is palpable, but as they get to know each other, they find many things in common, and find a peace within each other's company.
There are any funny moments as they try to adjust to the new life, moments that make you sigh, and times that break your heart a bit.
Both Cassie and Ty are stubborn, prideful, independent, and used to take care of things themselves, not to ask help from anyone, and that is the biggest problem between them.
I enjoyed this story, it is one that left a smile on my face. It has charismatic characters, interesting concepts and events, good friends, and life on a Texas B&B and ranch, making it all an entertaining combination
~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
This is a sweet story and I really liked it. This is the story of Cassie Reynolds and Ty Barnett. Cassie is the guardian of her niece since her sister and brother-in-law died in a plane crash. Ty was one of her brother-in-laws best friends and he is Ella's financial guardian. Cassie is an artist who lived in New York but she gave that life up in order to care for her niece. She is struggling with motherhood and she is scared to death that she won't be able to give Ella all she needs. Ty is a rancher and a bit of a control freak and he and Cassie clash over what is best for Ella.
This is my first book by this author but it won't be my last. The pace of the story was good, as was the character development. It appears that the series will focus on friends that attended Texas A&M together and I look forward to more in this series.
This sweet contemporary western romance is Wishing, Texas, book 1. I liked it a lot. The small town of Wishing, Texas has a wishing well and the legend is you must make a wish for someone else. I liked that a lot. The hero Ty is a rancher who is financial guardian for orphaned six-year-old neighbor Ella. Her artist aunt Cassie has to relocate from New York City to look after Ella, and take over the bed-and-breakfast to boot. As her sister was the cook and hotel person, poor Cassie has a steep learning curve. Fortunately neighbor Ty can cook. I got a complimentary copy from NetGalley in return for an honest review. I look forward to reading the rest of this series about four college friends.
I like stories where a character who has no experience with kids is suddenly thrown headfirst into instant parenthood. And I like stories where a city girl who has no experience with cowboys is suddenly thrown headfirst into…well, to continue the metaphor, into a cowboy!
When Cassie’s sister and her husband, Chloe and Jack, are killed in a plane crash, Cassie relocates from New York to her sister’s bed and breakfast in the small town of Wishing, Texas, to take custody of her young niece. Ella of course is emotionally scarred from losing both of her parents, and refuses to talk, or participate in anything at school. When we meet Cassie, she is struggling to deal with her own grief, and to relate to Ella and get through to her.
Ty was good friends with Chloe and Jack, and he and Chloe were in business together. Chloe had the bed and breakfast, and Ty provided dude ranch services to her guests at his ranch – trail rides and sightseeing tours on horseback. He didn’t love it, but the money helped support his ranch and his family, which included his widowed mother and his younger sister, Aubrey. Ella’s parents had also appointed Ty to be Ella’s financial guardian, so while Cassie now has custody of Ella, Ty has custody of Ella’s money and makes the financial decisions.
I loved Ty. He adored Ella, and even when being his gruff stoic self, when Ella came into a scene he softened. He was good with her, and she obviously felt very close to him. With her father gone, Ty was now the predominant male role model in her life, and he was determined do not only guard her finances, but also to be sure she was properly cared for, even if that meant butting in, whether or not Cassie felt he had a right to.
Cassie is a pretty successful artist in New York, and suddenly being in charge of an inn leaves her floundering. She considers selling it and taking Ella back to New York with her, but since Ty holds the purse strings, he would have to approve of any sale. And he thinks it’s better for Ella to remain in her own home. So of course Ty and Cassie are going to constantly clash with each other. And of course they are going to be attracted to each other, hard as they try to fight it. Ty has been burned in love, and has no desire to be burned again.
I truly loved those Cassie and Ty clashing scenes, and the banter that flew back and forth between them often made me laugh. I could understand the reasoning behind each character's hesitance to become involved with the other, and considering that having Ella in common would keep them tethered to each other for several years, I could easily agree that caution should be taken. I do wish that Ella had actually been involved in the story more than she was. The developing relationship between Ty and Cassie was very dependent on her, as was much of the plot. But even in the end, as much as I felt I knew both adults, Ella was still more of a little plot moppet than a fleshed out person.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, featuring other members of Ty's group of college friends, and here's hoping his sister Aubrey will hook up with one of them and get her own HEA!
4 Stubborn Texas Love Stars * * * *
I don't know what it is with this city gal loving these ranch/cowboys...
It could be I use to ride and show Western years ago and in the back of my mind, I was looking and not touching all those Cowboys. After all...married and having my sons ride would do that....
But now with the romance bug firmly planted, I have a leaning towards these stories and when they are well done... it is a delight.
This is a new series which has all of the elements to be a fun group of books. The author shared with us readers how it came about and the reality mixed with her ideas gave all of it a strong feel.
It starts out with a child losing both her parents in a plane crash. With a trusted friend coming to the main character, rancher Ty, to set up his finances for his family, the words of free-spirt, impulsive and flighty were what came to mind when he remembered how Cassie, the aunt was described. Jack wanted him to be the solid, strong, steady force to rein her in. By being the financial guardian should anything ever happen, Jack told him he would feel better.
Now this was a reality and little Ella was having the same problems his sister did when her dad died. Aubrey was a handful and he took on the Man of the Ranch job without a blink of an eye. He, his mom and the grandparents held it together. He would do the same for his friend. He would make sure Ella had a secure environment even if he had to step in and lay the law down with her Aunt Cassie.
Oh, that woman.... A New York City Artist no less.... She did things spur of the moment and seemed to court trouble just by her very being ... And for her to run the B&B her sister and husband had started... Ty wondered how all of it would play out.
We see how things are when Cassie is at the same place where every one goes for food, drink and pool playing. She is getting food to go for her and Ella. She is preoccupied with thinking about all the things she is trying to handle. She loves Ella with all her heart. She had had such great times with her sister at the Inn... being the Aunt that came out... did all the fun things with Ella and then back to her life in New York. She never had to discipline or say no... that was her sister's job. She also feels she will Never be as good or able as her sister was... she was the Texas Martha Stewart/Mary Poppins. She could run the Inn, cook amazing gourmet meals and balance the position of mom and wife without a blink of an eye...How was she supposed to step into those shoes...
As she is remembering what the therapist said about not pushing Ella to speak and to just have patience...she looks down for 6 year old Ella and she is no where to be found....
Ty is with all of his Texas A&M buddies from College in the pool table area. He happened to be chatting with them and pleased to just relax a little. These men created their bond when they met that first semester and every year going forward they have come to Wishing Texas and his ranch to just hang out. Over the years they have all gone their separate ways with different careers but all have stayed tight friends with a knowing of how each of them will by being "Aggies" forever. The saying of "From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. From the inside looking out, you can't explain it." This was their bond for life and they stood by it.
Ty saw little Ella wander away from Cassie as she was paying for the to go meal and scooped her up in his arms. Ella had strong memories of this place with her Daddy... they would play pool together all the time. As he approached Cassie, he saw the look of horror when she realized Ella was not at her side... Damn... couldn't that woman do anything right...
Cassie was about to have a major meltdown when Ty came up with Ella. With a huge sigh of relief in having Ella back with her, she now had to deal with the bane of her Wishing Texas existence, Ty. Grrrr, this man. He was stubborn, a dictator and know it all. A my way or the highway type and here he was with Ella in his arms after she had disappeared.
Ella hasn't spoken since the crash and Cassie is trying to do everything the doctors have advised but tantrums have become a minefield for Cassie with Ella... she never knew when things could happen and right now she didn't want that. With an idea to let things be a little easy, she suggests they go and play pool; Ella smiles and Ty looks like he might explode.
Does this woman ever think ahead... all the tables were taken... Ty offers his table with the friends and Cassie acts like it was just the thing to do. Ty watches how his friends all take to her. Yes, she is friendly and sharp witted... yes, she is cute with short blond hair and a style all her own...
And now his friend, Zane the Player, is making his move on her... well, well... she saw right through him... hmmm she is sharp, he thought. But that little hint of interest he had for her... what the hell was that... he had to look out for Ella for the next 12 years... He could not go there ever.
Cassie wasn't immune to Ty either. He was handsome; chiseled and strong in a natural-working-on-a-ranch way... not a steroid pump iron health club way. His way was a clear winner in her book. But he was just so hard to deal with. He would take charge and not give an inch on anything. She couldn't figure out how she was going to manage all of this...and he wasn't helping.
These two have confrontation after confrontation until both of them see the light about each other. It is a very slow build up with lots of moving pieces; there is an ex fiance of Ty's who's ways caused him to mistrust everyone. There is the insecurity of re-establishing Cassie's artist following and business... Wishing Texas is not New York City.
And there is the Legend of the Wishing Well of Wishing Texas which holds all of this together.
This is a very charming series and this first entry is a huge winner in my book. There are sparks and kisses- starts and stops between these two... enough to keep us waiting for them to get together. There is a sure and clear arc of growth between both of them... he to understand her...she to get why he is the way he is...it develops exactly as it should.
The ranch, horses and way of living all add to the feel and then there is Ella...a little girl all of the characters care for...
There will be more stories for Wishing Texas... all of the other friends will have theirs told. I think this series is more than just Wishing...I think the author has a real Winner on her hands.
A gifted copy was provided by Tule Publishing via NetGalley for an honest review.
The author excels at creating characters with depth and vividness; I truly enjoyed the story development and never found myself trying to read for the sake of finishing. I would definitely like to see a continuation of the story as I now feel invested in these characters and would like to see their further development.
The only issue I had during the read was the poor job of editing that was done. There were so many grammatical errors, repeated words and phrases, sentences that needed to be reread several times to make sense of them...which definitely takes away from the momentum of reading. If the author invested in more professional editing, I feel that this book would be a number one seller!
4 heartwarming stars
To Love a Texas Cowboy was a beautiful, emotional and heartfelt romance.
This book ticked all the boxes for me, I couldn't put it down.
Looking forward to reading more from Julie Benson in the near future.
Thank you to Tule Publishing via Netgalley for the advance copy
I received a copy of To Love a Texas Cowboy by Julie Benson from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
This book is an excellent introduction to the small town of Wishing Texas. And I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
I found this to be a very nice romance novel. Would recommend it to others.
To Love a Texas Cowboy is a stellar find. The important things that matter are family, friends and every moment that you are given with the people you love. Julie Benson does a beautiful job of pointing that out. With lovable characters, important life lessons and wonderful writing the Wishing, Texas series is off to a great beginning. I received a copy of this story for an honest review.
I just finished To Love A Texas Cowboy, a book I enjoyed for the most part, though I did get a little annoyed with the little italic thought bubbles that peppered the book. I felt that they were largely stating the bleeding obvious and therefore were unnecessary.
Lead characters Ty and Cassie are poles apart in their approaches to life but opposites attract and that's certainly the case for these two. Throw Cassie's niece Ella into the mix and you have a story to tug your heartstrings.
The story is well told and easily held my interest. I liked the setting on a Texas ranch and I liked the side story as Cassie adjusted to running an inn and Ty adjusts to Cassie and her "out there" attitude to life. If you're looking for a gentle read then this book should do the trick.
Cassie is going throw a the biggest loss and heartbreak in her life, she has had her life turned upside down and she now has her niece to take care of and she needs to figure out how to keep up her with her career, her niece and getting her to heal and survive her sisters business as well. How will she survive it all and come out on top in the end. Ty has his ranch his 3 best friends, and he feels like life it going ok for now. He just face 2 of the biggest heart breaks in a long time. When his best friends sister crash into his life and turns it so far upside down he is really not sure what side it up and what side it right. Will he be able to survive everything life keeps throwing at him including keeping his goddaughter safe from her clumsy aunt, who seems to always end up in the worst case? This was a fun book to read is was slow at first but not for long. I found my self laughing and crying but over all really enjoying the book. When you swear its about to end, something fun happens that keeps you turning the page just to find out what happens. The chemistry is very subtle but when its there its there and you can not miss it. You will not regret getting and reading this really fun book, I can not wait to read more from this author and more about Wishing, texas.
Disclosure: I received this book free of charge from the publisher, but this review consists of my honest opinions, not influenced in any way by the author or publisher
I was given a copy of To Love a Texas Cowboy from NetGalley for an review an this is the review. This book was your typical romance story. The one thing I did dislike about this book was the over use of cliches. I think the author used every one she has ever heard her entire life in this book and it was getting to the point it was getting annoying. As for the rest of the book it was a sweet romantic read about Ty and Cassie with a bit of trouble to add some action to the book. The chemistry between the characters was well written and it was a well paced book.I am giving it three out of five stars because some of the dialogue just got on nerves after awhile.
Rating 4.5 This is a story of coping with grief and unexpected parenthood, getting to know people beyond your initial impressions and helping others. Set in Wishing, Texas, with beautiful countryside and a magical wishing well, this story has well developed characters with whom it is easy to empathise. It has humour as well as grief, some great retorts between the two main characters and their love for the orphaned child is key to it all. There are dramatic confrontations and unexpected events to keep the reader guessing what will happen next. Well written, highly entertaining and a real page turner, this is a great story to get lost in!
Following the tragic accident which killed her sister and brother-in-law, artist Cassie Reynolds moves from her home in New York to Wishing, Texas, to bring up her orphaned six year old niece, Ella. Having lost both her parents, Ella is traumatised, stubborn and refuses to speak to anyone. Cassie has had advice from specialists to try to help her but coping with her own grief and suddenly becoming a single Mum are dramatic changes in her own life that she is also struggling with. Ella’s financial guardian is the handsome local rancher, Ty Barnett and Cassie feels she can do nothing right in his eyes. They clash over everything and anything but both want the best for Ella and hate and love are, after all, just opposite faces of the same coin! The fireworks between Ty and Cassie are highly explosive and it is only as they get to know each other better that they find they also have a chemical attraction that is irresistible. Can they stop being so independent and learn to love and share with each other? Will their obstinacy prevent their love developing? Can they help give Ella a new happy ever after family existence to help her cope with that she lost with the death of her parents? A highly entertaining read I have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who enjoys a great romance.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley too,
for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first time reading a book written by Julie Benson and I would definitely read more from this author. I recommend this book to readers who like contemporary romance with couples who start out adversarial but are really “strike the match” opposites. This is a good opposites attract romance.
I liked the setting where Cassie becomes the guardian for her niece, Ella, but due to a career in another part of the country (New York vs Texas) she doesn’t have a relationship with Ella or the “parenting skills” necessary to become an instant mother. Throw in Ty who has a relationship with Ella and also helped to raise a younger sibling and you have an instant clash of personalities, viewpoints and confidence levels. This part of the story was really working for me.
If you need to be shown rather than told why something “is the way it is”, you may have a few problems with parts of the story. If this is your personality (I’m familiar with it as it’s mine) than you won’t enjoy the story as much as those who just go with the flow. There were a number of times where I felt that a plot point wasn’t logical or plausible or that the scene was a bit far-fetched. It’s a book and I totally get suspension of disbelief, however, in my world I need the author to show me that it’s realistic in her world.
I received this book from Net Galley and Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
The first Julie Benson book I've read and I loved it! The H/h are two totally different types of people. Ty a rancher, firm in his beliefs and Cassie an artist with a free spirit! The author has brought these two together as guardians to help raise Cassie's niece after her sister and brother in law are killed in an accident. in a story filled with angst and humor. I look forward to rest of this author's series and more happy endings!
To Love a Texas Cowboy (Wishing, Texas - Book 1) by Julie Benson will make you fall head over heels for a Texas cowboy. This book concerns serious aspects of real life, like losing parents and financial problems without becoming a down in the dumps kind of read. The author has managed to keep the story lighthearted and fun.
The Prologue with the legend and Aubrey’s wish hooked me right into this Texas tale. This opposite’s attraction story flows seamlessly right into one scene to another holding my attention throughout the entire book. Ty and Cassie are warm likable characters with amenable supporting characters in the town of Wishing Texas. I look forward to the others in this series. Ty’s and Cassie’s story was a marvelous start to the series.
The saying “Be careful what you wish for because you might get it,” is only partially true in Wishing, Texas. The wishing well where the town gets its name only grants wishes if you ask it for someone else and not for yourself.
To New York City artist Cassie Reynolds, it did not matter whether there was any truth to the legend. After all, she was in Wishing, Texas to raise her orphaned niece Ella and not trying to be the local tour guide. Or was she?
As part owner of a Bed & Breakfast, a local tour is one of extra paid services they offer. So, in short, she should learn everything and anything about Wishing, Texas. Unfortunately, one of those things she has to learn is get along with Ty Barnett, a handsome hardworking rancher, who was Ella’s financial guardian.
And if two people could be oil and water, they were Cassie and Ty. Still, no matter how different they were from each other, sparks fly between them. Everyone saw it, everyone knew it but Cassie and Ty refuse to acknowledge it!
That is, until there was one more crisis too many. Cassie and Ty had to face it together or they would lose everything including the love they have for each other.
“To Love a Texas Cowboy” is Rated T for Teens due to some adult situations. There are no sex scenes in this book.
I really enjoyed this story and was happy to hear that this is the beginning of a new series set in Wishing, Texas.
Cassie is an artist from New York City who had come to Wishing to take care of her orphaned niece. She is way out of her depth in aspects, not the least with little Ella, who on top of losing her parents, is also dealing with surviving the plane crash that killed them. Cassie is doing her best, but feels inadequate, especially next to Ty Burnett, Ella's financial guardian. Ty has been responsible for his family and the ranch for years, and takes everything very seriously. Dealing with Ella's irresponsible guardian is frustrating him to no end. As the two butt heads things are strained, but when they finally start to work together, they find the conflict hides strong attraction. Can they find their way to trust each other enough to make things last?
This was a heart-warming story of two characters having to find there way in tragic circumstances. Neither was prepared to lose Ella's parents, but are both determined to do whatever they can to make her life the best they can. All of the characters are well-developed and the storyline is strongly written. I was pulled into the story from the beginning and hated having life intrude. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book of the series.
To Love a Texas Cowboy is the first in the Wishing, Texas series. I admit I love a cowboy hero and was looking forward to reading Ty and Cassie's story. Julie Benson kicks off this new series with a sweet, enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the Wishing, Texas series.
Read in August, 2015
This turned out to be a really sweet emotional read. It wasn't angsty, but it tugs at your heart strings. It wasn't sappy but it was truly sweet. I found myself reading this in just a couple of hours. I'm really looking forward to more in this series.

Deliciously sweet and so beautifully written. I can't wait to read more from Benson. Great start to a new series!
*ARC provided for an honest review
To Love a Texas Cowboy by Julie Benson somewhat took me by surprise. It’s not the typical book I would go for although I’ve read one or two books where two different people were pushed together to take care of a child and found that I liked them, so I thought I’d give this a go. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed the book. The characters were likeable and the chemistry between them was great, as well. The plot was pretty predictable though, so that’s why I’m giving it four out of five stars.
Julie Benson writes well-rounded characters and that’s something I enjoyed, simply because, as a writer myself, flat characters are not a good thing. The two main characters of the book, Ty Barnett and Cassie Reynolds are completely opposite, except for the fact that they’re both extremely stubborn and don’t back down from someone that easily. Ty is the owner of his family’s ranch and Cassie is a free spirited artist from New York. Both are thrown into the parenting life when Cassie’s sister and husband are killed in a plane crash and someone has to care for their daughter, Ella. Cassie is wrangled in because she’s the aunt and Ty is made the financial parent. Both characters are charismatic and charming and they’re quite entertaining throughout the book. It made me laugh, smile, get angry, and want to hug it when I finished it. I love books that take me by surprise and this one definitely did that.
The book itself was well-written and easy to read through, although the beginning did confuse me a tad simply because it jumps right into the plot of the book and I didn’t have much of an idea as to what was going on. Other than that, it was great. It was vivid and imaginative and it shows that two very different people can start out hating one another and end up loving each other in the end. The secondary characters are interesting as well. We meet Ty’s group of guy friends in the beginning of the book as well and I found that they were a great add as they’re just a bunch of great guys and they made me laugh. Aubrey, Ty’s sister, was a wonderful character and does typical sisterly things (like do things behind her brother’s back and get in trouble for it later…) and little Ella, who almost steals the whole show, was a joy throughout. Overall, a great book.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review. "To Love A Texas Cowboy" by Julie Benson is book one in the "Wishing, Texas" series. This book is a great start to this series, but is also a great standalone book. This is the story of Cassie Reynolds and Ty Barnett. Cassie's sister and husband were killed in a plane crash leaving behind their daughter Ella. Cassie's life has been turned upside down going from living in the city to moving to a country town and raising her niece. Ty Barnett was asked by Cassie's sister and brother in-law that if anything happened to them that he would be over the financial welfare of their daughter. Ty and Cassie butt heads from the beginning. Ty is a planner and organizer whereas Cassie is an artist and is used to going with the flow not so much planning. Even though they butt heads there is an attraction between them. Will Ty and Cassie let all the obstacles in their life prevent them from finding true love? Watching Ty and Cassie's relationship change as they work together to provide what's best for Ella was sweet, funny, and there was lots of chemistry. I loved Cassie and Ty. FYI, contains mature content. I look forward to reading the next books in this series.

I like Julie Benson. I love her sweet stories of sexy cowboys and their humbleness. I love her sassy heroines and their determination. Her characters grow on you like aged wine that can become an addiction and I she has a great flair of putting all the ingredients of a flavorful love story in less pages!
“To Love A Texas Cowboy” is the first in her new Wishing, Texas Series and sure is good start with fireworks going off between Cassie Reynolds and Ty Bennett. Brought together by tragic circumstances, pitted against each other with the welfare of a toddler, hurt and emotions riding their hearts with the loss of their family, Cassie and Ty have a lot more to deal with then just the best of raising a toddler.
Julie Benson does a brilliant job with Cassie and Ty. Leaving her NY artist career behind to give her 100% to raising her orphaned niece with absolutely no idea of raising a child, she deals with the situation with tenacity and determination.
