A Santini Takes the Fall

One thing I know when I pick up a Santini book by author Melissa Schroeder is that the Santini in the story is going to fall and is going to fall hard; it’s simply what they do the so called dreaded “family curse” but I have to admit I really wondered if this would be the book where the hero didn’t get his way because as smooth as so many of the Santini men (and women) have been Anthony Santini stepped in it BIG TIME the first time he met Lalani Hawkins something she had no problem reminding him of….often!

Out of the Marines and working for NCIS Anthony Santini is living next door to his cousin Marco, his wife Alana, and their son Jon and learning to adapt to life in Hawaii. He’s quite baffled by the rash of marriages in his family over the last few years but he relishes his single life and when he smells a set-up in the works he heads if off at the pass only to find that the beautiful Lalani is more of a commitment phobic than he is and that intrigues him more than it should and he knows he’s in trouble big time.
I really loved the verbal sparring between Anthony and Lalani and I appreciated the way they kind of fell into their relationship. It was interesting to watch them discover all the intriguing things about each other and learn to appreciate each other’s uniqueness. Yes they moved quickly into a physical relationship and then more but after all when a Santini falls they know what they want and tend to be very persuasive especially after they get their head on straight.

Full out fun and sexy from beginning to end A Santini Takes The Fall is another entertaining installment in this enjoyable family series.
