From the Author- "I was born in China in 1922 , in a garage, of a Russian mother and an Ukrainian father, refugees of the Russian Revolution. Having gone to Shanghai and not finding a future there and threatened by the invading communism, my mother left me alone at the age of seven for ten years in a convent in Qingdao and adventured her life in Brazil. At the age of seventeen, in spite of a war between China and Japan, I joined my mother in Rio de Janeiro. For five years I was schooled within the scrutiny of a severe stepfather, to meet the challenges of life in business. When I was twenty-three I eloped under dramatic circumstances, and in doing so forfeited a rich inheritance. I began then my journey of seeking my spiritual beliefs through seven religions. Living a family life, and working until I was seventy-two, I went though many adventurous experiences and life changes. I feel that I have achieved my purpose, found my peace and at the age of ninety-two I am able to write the story of my life."
