Description
A CHOICE...
Laird Magnus Sutherland loves women. His prowess in the bedchamber has earned him the name Devil of Dunrobin, but no woman has ever stirred his heart. Magnus needs to provide his clan with an heir, which is the only reason he agrees to marry the neighboring chieftain’s sister. When his betrothed arrives, he discovers the chieftain has two sisters. If Magnus must bind himself to one woman, he intends to discover which is best suited to be his wife, for he wants more than a body to plant his seed. He wants a mate for life.
A CHALLENGE...
There are three reasons Lady Effie Reay refuses to vie for Laird Sutherland’s affections…
For one, she is thirty-two and would surely lose a competition to her beautiful, younger sister. Secondly, Laird Sutherland is a well-reputed rake, and she holds no desire to wed another faithless man. And thirdly, the sight of him makes her tingle, shiver and ache.
Will Effie be successful in thwarting Magnus’ advances, or will her body succumb to a temptation that can only lead to heartbreak?

"Sizzling hot, TAMING A HIGHLAND DEVIL is a witty and sensual historical romance. I loved this novella and hated to see it end. Effie wanted nothing more than to have her own family again and to marry Magnus, who made her feel things she had never felt before. However, she did not think she stood a chance against her sister and she did not want to get her hopes up only to have them destroyed. Shocking plot twists, an original plot, charming, well-drawn characters, deceit and plenty of romance make this a memorable story. Reading this novella is a great way to spend an afternoon and escape from your cares. I highly recommend TAMING A HIGHLAND DEVIL to anyone looking for a terrific read and a delightful way to spend a few hours." —Romance Junkies

Great short , sexy, and sweet story. It kept me turning the pages till I reached the end. Even though it was a short read the author developed the characters well and you were pulled into the story. Now I have to say Magnus made me very angry because of what he did. Effie was a good strong lead and I am so glad she found herself at the end. Great read! I would love to read more by this author!
I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I am a big fan of historical romances. I tend to prefer the Regency era, but after watching the first half of Outlander on DVD, I am definitely not opposed to the Scottish/Highlander genre. Taming a Highland Devil takes place at the end of the 15th century, so almost 300 years before Outlander, but a rogue in a kilt is a rogue in a kilt.
Taming a Highland Devil is a novella by Kimberley Killion. Magnus Sutherland is the laird of his clan, and he has a reputation for being a fierce warrior and for loving the ladies. All the ladies. He knows that it is time to settle down and produce an heir, and he has arranged to marry the daughter of another chieftain. However, when the other clan arrives at his castle, Magnus sees that there are two daughters. He insists on getting to know both daughters before deciding which one he will marry. It should be noted that “getting to know” is a euphemism; we’re talking about carnal knowledge here.
The daughter we are rooting for is Lady Effie. She is the older of the two- at 32 years old, she has been married and widowed and all of her children have also died because life in 15th century Scotland is dark and full of terrors. She doesn’t think that she has anything to offer this brash and lascivious laird, but she is wrong about that.
I enjoyed this novella, but it’s definitely a little off-putting that Magnus “gets to know” both sisters. Magnus and Effie have great chemistry, and he respects that her intelligence and insight. He changes over the course of the story, but his impulsive ways and insatiable appetite almost prove to be his undoing.
I would recommend Taming a Highland Devil. This is a short book, but don’t let the length fool you. It is well written, and I enjoyed the plot twists. I am looking forward to reading more from Kimberley Killion.

Short and hot! This story was exactly what I needed. It had all the elements I want in a historical read. Highlander. Strong heroine. Hot sex. HEA.
Magnus is his clan's Laird. He knows its time for him to marry and produce an heir. The only problem? He loves women. All women. When his betrothed shows up early, he finds himself instantly smitten with her older sister. He thinks she's beautiful, kind and just the type of woman he wants as a wife.
Effie is a widow and a Laird's sister. She's helping to escort her younger sister to a neighboring clan so she can meet her future husband. Magnus is everything Effie wouldn't want in a husband for herself. She was married to an unfaithful man before and that's what Magnus reminds her of.
When Magnus decides he wants to marry Effie instead of her sister, outside influences try to keep them apart.
I, again, really enjoyed this story and would definitely read more by this author.

This was the very first book I've read from Kimberly Killion and have to say I was completely impressed. The perfect blend of erotic storytelling and romance! I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author.
Laird Magnus Sutherland is known for his skills in the bedroom. Although he has had his choice of women he can't help but want more than a pretty face when he selects his wife.
When his betrothed arrives, he discovers the chieftain has two sisters and no one is more surprised than him who his number one pick is...Lady Effie Reay
Lady Effie Reay has come along with her family to escort her sister into the arms of Magnus. It never occurred to her that Magnus may be interested in her because she is a widow and her sister is young and beautiful.
Will Effie let her doubts go and give love another chance or will she let her sister have the man that she could easily love and start a new life with? Read and find out!
I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.
This is the first book that I have read by Kimberly Killion and I am happy that I read it. When I first saw it I automatically assumed this book would be short with some cliffhanger action but get ready to be surprised this book is 69 pages with NO cliffhanger!
This book was funny, hot in the bedroom ...the barn and the kitchen, if you know what I mean, and full of surprises. This book sells right now .99 on Kindle Amazon in English,Spanish and Italian and is free on Kindle Unlimited.
If you are not reading this book I am not sure what you are doing with your life. Great book for a great price!!!
