Description

Despite having the most expensive healthcare in the world, Americans do not always get better health outcomes than people in other developed nations. The care we receive is expensive and not always safe. The healthcare industry has not kept up with information technology and the processes are incredibly complex and hard to understand.

In Health Attitude, John R. Patrick explains what is wrong with our healthcare system and how to make it better through consumer use of mobile health technologies. He explains how healthcare providers can take advantage of the cloud and big data to develop effective and affordable care on a population basis.

In terms that even newcomers to the healthcare policy debate will understand, Health Attitude reveals the key attitude problems in healthcare culture that drastically impact cost and quality. Patrick does not stop there; he promotes a vision and set of solutions to help us become healthier and happier with our health and our healthcare system.

Dr. John R. Patrick holds degrees in electrical engineering, management, law, and health administration. He has more than four decades of experience in business and ten years serving on the board of a hospital.

Marketing Plan

My primary marketing strategy is to personally be an active communicator. I post to Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, and Twitter multiple times each day. I select substantive topics to share with others. Several times per week, I write a post about my point of view on a topic in healthcare or technology in the Attitude LLC blog. I write about inequities in the American healthcare system and breakthrough technologies which are beginning to make things better. I send a weekly blog summary to 500+ readers. I am using curated mailing lists to reach out and seek new subscribers to the blog. I have held 16 book events at hospitals, libraries, and community events. I have written an op-ed in a major metropolitan newspaper highlighting how high deductibles are making healthcare unaffordable for millions of people. I am actively seeking out reviewers. Amazon is showing nine so far. I have made the book available in multiple formats to make it readable for everyone. I am advertising on Amazon and through the IBPA. I have sent books to multiple radio and TV producers and journalists.

As a healthcare provider I found this book very informative. Many of the issues discussed are going to affect all of us, both as providers and users, for a long time to come. The more we understand the better we can make the system.
