The power elite, from the government to marketers with deep pockets, are not only devouring the plethora of research being carried out to discover why we do what we do, they are also funding it. All with the aim of tweaking your psyche to suit their aims—they can get you to vote in their direction, get you to buy their products, even get you to organize protests and demonstrations that suit their agenda!

Engineering consent is accomplished with small nudges added to each other over time. The goal is a long-term objective. So what do you think of our government creating a behavioral nudge squad?

How many times has the entire nation been outraged over something they see as a violation of their freedoms, only to forget it a short while later—the new limitations becoming just a part of the normal landscape? How many times have the masses voted strongly in one direction, only to vote in the totally opposite direction just a few years later? Nudges, pushes, manipulation, brain washing, mind control—use whatever term you prefer to use, just understand that you too are a victim of this on a 24/7 basis.

To live as free people in a free nation, it is incumbent upon all of us to learn of the techniques being used against us, so we can recognize manipulation when it occurs and thereby protect ourselves.
