Thoughts:
MY MOTHER'S QUILTS: Devotions from a Legacy of Needlework by Ramona Richards is an amazing devotional drawn from family, life, history of the quilting craft, and creations handed down with love!
Quilting is a fascinating craft, but the history that goes along with this author's story pulls us into the family pieces and guides us through them ending with our own faith enrichment. The memories shared are heartfelt and awe-inspiring, threading love, faith, and hope through Scripture, history, and family devotion into action through prayer.

Ramona Richard's MY MOTHER'S QUILTS: Devotions from a Legacy of Needlework shows through stories, Scripture, and prayer that history, love, and faith matter. She demonstrates the yesterdays of those who are now gone live on through more than inheritance but also through lessons learned, life struggles, and stories passed to the next generation.
While Biblical verses frame each devotional tale, the family member's life showcased through the quilting craft brings together new ways to think about history and ancestors while the prayer starter ends as a bridge on this new path.
MY MOTHER'S QUILTS: Devotions from a Legacy of Needlework brings into focus God's everlasting love and His grace upon all generations.
A wonderful collection of stories about quilts and their part. Beautifully written and a such a peaceful devotional for quilters. The added photos are a plus.
Ramona Richards has put together a devotional book that meshes spiritual thoughts with quilts in her family. Each chapter is a different quilt, a scripture and a prayer to go with it, and a complete description of the quilt and its importance to her. I have loved reading about the quilts, how and why they were made, the colors, the block designs, and how the quilts have impacted Ramona. She has a wisdom to share through her thoughts on the quilts. Her scriptures match the quilts and their patterns quite well and her prayers help the reader take the quilt patterns to a new level.
Five Stars, Two Thumbs Up, and a quilt to keep you warm.
My thanks to Worthy Inspired Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book.
An inspirational collection of short devotionals, blending together the author's love of quilting, family and faith stories. Starting with a Scripture, these are quick reading, and a great way to start or end the day on a good note. I enjoyed the author's personal touch in each one, relating how the original quilt was created and how each had been a blessing to someone. Recommend!
You will find your own lives reflected in the precious memories carefully woven into these quilts. God's grace, love and faithfulness is stronger than the tightest bonds of generations. Here we slip back in time as the beauty of these quilts weave rich memories and poignant recollections to make the past come alive before our eyes. Here are heartchanging devotions for you to enjoy!
As a quilter, I was looking forward to reading this book! I enjoyed the short stories about the quilts made with love from family of the author. They were touching tales of the various quilts. She is very fortunate to have these treasured quilts passed down through her family.
I read it as an ebook and I think it would be better as a hardback or paperback. This way you would able to see better pictures and details of the quilts. Still I could see that they were all so lovely.
I knew this was also a devotional and it is a large part of each quilt story. I read it more for the quilt stories than that part. But it was an enjoyable book and I thank the author for sharing her family legacy with us.
