Mere words seem hollow whenever they are proceeded by such a powerful and extraordinary masterpiece as Beneath These Scars. The last I want to do is to detract from the unabashed beauty and exquisite honesty that we see and feel throughout these precious pages. My purpose is to proclaim to you in a meager few words of the worthiness and the uniqueness of this magnificent labor of love that would hopefully convince you to take a chance on this utterly compelling and all-encompassing journey of pain to healing and fear to hope. I can only hope that my simple words are enough to prove to you that this is a story that absolutely needs to be read, experienced, and savored for the spectacular work of art that it is.
Lucas Titan is a force to be reckoned with. The man has a one-track mind with no form of conscience to go with it when it comes to business. He is ruthless, brilliant, and efficient. He is not one to dispense with niceties, and he doesn’t waste time on trying to be liked. He knows what he wants and he doesn’t mince words or actions to get it. Fate is most definite not without a wonderful sense of humor when it brings Yve Santos into his life. She is a breath-taking hurricane that overtakes Lucas in the most emotionally jarring and life-upending way possible. She turns his life inside out and thaws his icy heart. Just when he thinks he can’t take anymore, he finds that she has somehow penetrated his reinforced steel walls leaving him with more answers then questions in her wake. Has Lucas finally met his match in all areas of his life, or will fear of turning human have him rebuilding his walls a thousand times stronger to keep even Yve out for good?
Lucan left me forever perplexed about his closed off and harsh personality. For someone to be as heartless as he is meant that he had some very deeply hidden pain from his past that he had yet to deal with. Only a women just as closed off and stubbornly determined could ever reach him on any level. Yuve was his perfect opposite in every way. She pushed him fiercely and pulled him off balance at every turn. Only she could draw him out and break down all of his defenses, and only she could show him how to truly love and cherish another human being. He was without a doubt the beast to her beauty, and she showed him that he was just as beautiful, loveable, and worthy as any other person. In turn, Lucas was able to heal the hidden scars that Yve carried and opened her heart to the possibility that she was more than her history, more than experiences, and more than her fears. Together, they discovered true freedom and independence, unlocked the power of love within their broken and jaded hearts, and looked towards a stunning future filled with every possibility imaginable. Meghan March is without a doubt a true and undeniable master at creating astonishing masterpieces that thrill the mind while completely overtaking your heart. She knows the perfect method to pull you into the story with out of this world characters that push you into a realm of pure ecstasy. Reading a Megan March book is unlike any other experience you will ever have. There is good writing, and then there is the excellence that you will only ever know from reading a book by this fantastic author. I challenge you to take the time to pick up one of her amazing books and prove me wrong.

Damnit. Dammit. Damnit

Lord or Titan? Lord or Titan?

Seriously, the struggle to pick just one book boyfriend for this series is real because Ms. March pulled off making an unlikeable character likeable without changing him drastically in anyway and good God all you want to do is lick Titan up.

That really was the question of the hour. Could Ms. March make the most unlikeable character in the series into a man you’d fight over without changing him? And the answer is a massive YES! Lucas Titan is still the dominant, single minded, ruthless, arrogant prick we met in Beneath This Ink from start to finish and yet so much more. As the story progresses you get to see underneath that armour, though that armour is never fully shed, and see the true man beneath and hell if he isn’t as amazing, and damn sexy, as the rest of the alpha males in the series.

Yve has been around since Beneath this Mask and has always come across as a full blown Miss Independant. She’s confident in herself and knows what she wants, without apology and to finally find out what she went through to become that woman was just crazy. But what I really liked most about her, was that while she wanted to be independant and do everything on her own, she also knew when to accept help when it was offered. There were times when she fought it, but as she states in the book she “wouldn’t cut off my nose to spite my face”.

Titan and Yve together were smokin’ hot! What starts out as a one and done turns into more as they each try to figure out why they can’t stop thinking about each other. The beauty of their relationship is that even though they fight for the upper hand, in and out of bed, there is still a balance of power and with that comes mutual respect. I’m typically not a fan of the constant push away with one hand, pull towards you with the other situation, but this one worked for me. I found it amusing to watch as they both tried to rationalize what was going on between them, which made the fall that much better.

The writing, as always, was engaging and flowed well, Ms. March does a wonderful job with first person POV. The twists and turns in the story were well done and there were a few things that I didn’t see coming. The couples from the previous books in the series make appearances, some more than others, and we are introduced to a few new ones, Levi and JP were awesome, but Jerome I absolutely adored. And then there is everyone’s favorite Detective Hennessy who I’m praying will be getting his own book soon.

The Bottom Line: I devoured this book in a few hours and cannot wait for the next one!

Yve and Lucas. Oh My. The passion and strength of both characters was enthralling and I couldn't put this one down. I loved Yve's sassy independence and think I might need to borrow some from her :)

Ok, if you have read the previous books (which you absolutely should!) you come into it kind of hating Titan. And for the first part of the book, he only reinforces that feeling. I wanted to throat punch him and I wanted Yve to kick him in the balls. I was kind of mad at her for giving it up so quickly to him. Talk about the definition of hate f*$k though...However, Meghan manages to take this unlikeable man and this damaged girl and turn them into people you root for. Turning a villain into a hero is pretty epic and Meghan does it so well you don't even realize when you stopped hating him. Its quite amazing really! Review will be on my blog during the blog tour

Oooooh the sparks!! Seriously, my kindle was sizzling. I love Yve. Theres a lady who knows her own mind and isn't afraid to say what she really thinks. Lucas as well - watching two people butt heads has never been so much fun :)
I can't say enough how much I enjoyed reading Yve. She was tough and stubborn as well as vulnerable. She made no apologies, she was driven and determined and real. Yep, she made mistakes - but always pulled herself together and moved forward. Fabulous heroine.
Lucas was everything we've come to expect of Ms March - alpha, arrogant, sexy and protective. Swoon. These two together were amazing! Thanks so much!! I wonder.... who's next?

This is my first Meghan March and if she can deliver every book with such quality, I will gladly read every single one of them. I'm new to this series and have no problem getting suck into the story.

The reason I picked this book is because of the title. I love reading scarred hero and the whole 'Beauty and the Beast' idea intrigued me. However, I don't consider this hero to be scarred, but he do live in a mansion with a big ass library.

Lucas fucking Titan, his name alone makes me wet. His personality is the highlight of the story. He is bossy, arrogant and sexy as hell. I love how he is such an unapologetic asshole and how he was misunderstood as the villain by people around him.

"You're a dick, you know that?"
"I'm aware."

Yve is a tough chick from an abusive marriage. She is one stubborn lady and I enjoyed the fact that she started off hating Lucas because he is a rich prick. However, at one point she's testing my patience with her sheer determination and independence. I understand where she is coming from, but I do have a limit when it comes to such tough chick. Thank goodness she manage to turn around before I label her as 'heroine who annoys me'.

This woman pushed all my buttons, taunted me, challenged me, mocked me. And the perverse son of a bitch that I was, I wanted more.

Lucas was all about getting Yve, the woman who run away from him at every turn. He just can't seems to let go of her. While Yve is adamant that she wouldn't follow her mother's footstep as someone who needs sugar daddy and Lucas serve as such a strong reminder to her ex-husband. But a little fucking, will do no harm, right?

"For every time you tell me never, I'm going to make you beg longer to come the next time I have you."
"Go to hell."
"I've been there, and it's not pleasant."

Beneath These Scars is a story that is easy to read and has a perfect pacing that I finish it in just one evening, albeit one with lack of sleep. I enjoyed the way Meghan lure me in with the hidden agenda and secrecy with her characters. There is an underlying hint of danger when Yve find out that her ex was out on parole. I definitely loving the little twist thrown in at the climax. Never see it coming at all! The situation was so bizarre and entertaining.

When I finish this book, I wish it was longer. I am visualizing how Meghan can explore more on Lucas's work. He seems to be pretty fixate on a certain ambition and his involvement with the politicians. We definitely can have a more complicated story with that angle. About the whole Yve's ex angle, I wish he came into the picture earlier and stir up more trouble. Anyway, I still adore this book, especially Lucas Titan.

To be cross post on Amazon and my blog on later date

Well I have to say Ms. March made me (yes “made me” because I love her books) read a story with a billionaire and I liked it. Lucas and Yve are both scarred by events in their past, so even though they are hot for each other they have a hard time facing the idea of a relationship.

Lucas Titan is convinced he is the bad guy due to some damage from his past but he is really a good guy deep down. Yve is dealing with scars of her own in the form of a bad past relationship. She is also in the process of trying to buy the Dirty Dog and make it her own. Yve has lost a little faith in herself but is determined to do it on her own. Lucas is trying to push his way in so he can have her to himself but he also wants to fix things for her. Lucas means well, he has the means to make life better for her and wants to. Yve is too damn stubborn and is fighting him every step of the way.

I loved the chemistry between Lucas and Yve. Two scarred people that weren’t looking for love but found it anyway. I was frustrated with how long it took Yve to admit she wanted and needed Lucas. It made the ending feel a bit rushed because she spent most of the book saying no. Beneath These Scars was a great read especially if you love Ms. March’s books. You get a fabulous Alpha male, great side characters, a surprise villain, and plenty of steam.

I can’t wait for Hennessy’s book it looks like he is going have a sassy female on his hands.

HOLY HELL THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! Yes I am yelling that because that's how much I love this series. Meghan has done is again. Simply amazing.

Wow! This book was amazing! Lucas Titan is a billionaire. He's also a huge jerk. He wants people to think that, he doesn't care. He's hard and focused on work. Yve Santos left an abusive marriage to a rich man and swears she will never date another rich guy. She doesn't ever want to depend on someone else, she wants to be totally self-sufficient and achieve her goals on her own. Yve can't fight the chemistry she and Titan have and when she needs someone to have her back, she sees a whole new side to Lucas Titan.

This book blew me away. The writing was completely captivating. From the first page, I couldn't put this book down. It's told in dual POV which I think really added to the story. I loved being inside Lucas Titan's head. Yve was a kick-ass strong heroine who fought for what she wanted and was determined to make her own way and be her own success story. I love a strong heroine and Yve Santos was a very strong heroine. Her perfect match - Lucas Titan. He was amazing. The chemistry between these two characters was some of the best I've ever read. There was a twist I didn't see coming, great suspense, fantastic characters, and incredibly hot sexy time. This is a top book of 2015 for me and also going on my all time favorites list. There was not one thing I didn't love about this book!!! Highly recommend!

LOVED, LOVED IT, It completely surprised me :)

I loved everything about this book. Between Lucas being an alpha billionaire, asshole and Yve being a badass, sassy chick that doesn't put up with his crap, these two made this a book I couldn't put down. Highly recommended.

My Thoughts I went in to this story not really knowing what I was in for. I love Meghan's writing and other books, so I knew it would be a great read, but I had real doubts about if I would like the H/h. In the end I got a story of two scarred people that weren’t looking for love but found it anyway, and I loved every second of it.

Lucas Titan was the man you loved to hate in the other books in this series, but man Lucas Motherfucking Titan is so much more than that. He might seem to be the asshole that everyone loved to hate, and I'll admit he was a bossy, arrogant, demanding alpha billionaire, but for anyone that took the time to look even a fraction deeper he was so much more.

Yve Santos is strong willed, sarcastic and doesn't let anyone push her or her friends around. She was an all around strong bad ass chick. But just under the surface her scars tell another story. She is a woman with painful past and a strong dislike of relationships with rich men. She has kept everyone at arms length for so long that when Lucas sneaks his way in she has no idea that he would be the one to put her back together again.

These two broken people start closed off and slowly open up to each other. Their journey and transformation made this amazing story even more beautiful. I highly recommend every book in this series, but Simon from Beneath This Mask may have found a contender for my favorite Meghan March man.

I’m the guy you love to hate.

Oh yes yes he is. When we last left off in Beneath These Chains Lucas Titan was become the thorn in everyone’s side. He was a mystery for me and I couldn’t couldn’t wait to get his story. Boy did she not let me down!

“Everyone lives according to the laws of Lucas Titan. You just don’t know it yet.” He leaned in closer until the green of his eyes reflected the interior light of my car, and I could clearly make out the five o’clock shadow shading his jaw. “Don’t worry, sweetheart, you’ll enjoy the hell out of it.”

Lucas Titan has had a semi hard life. He’s known as the villain to everyone and he’s ok with this. He works hard and he plays harder. Till he meets her.

Yvonne Santos is trying to get on her feet. She is trying to move on with her life. Trying to leave the past in the past. Except the biggest part of her past is now starting to make it’s way into her future.

When she is backed into a corner and left with nowhere to go she accepts the help of her co-worker. Just one little problem, his brother. The pain in her side. The bane of her existents. The reason that she is pulling her hair out and also dying to get into his pants.

“You’re right-I do. Because if you’d come to me like I’d wanted, it would’ve been your lips wrapped around my c*ck again instead of my hand. I will f*ck you again. It was too damn good to let you walk away.” I slid my hand into her hair and cupped the back of her head. “I spent all night wondering if you taste as good as I think you will.”

She is about to self combust, taking him with her. She has rules to getting involved with men and he is everything that she isn’t suppose to want, yet she has no control on how to work him from under her skin and stop him from entering her heart.

How had I let this happen? Another rich guy? One who wanted nothing from me but my body, which was all I was supposed to want from him. If I wanted anything else from him, I was going to be in trouble. Because it was guaranteed I wasn’t that person for Lucas.
Men like him didn’t look at women like me for anything more than what he was already getting. Right?

She is from a long list of women who love being the other woman in a man’s life. She isn’t one of them. He is trying to move out of his father’s shadow. He wants to be bigger and better.

They are kind of both running from the past, the question is at who will be standing at the end and will they be able to cure the scars beneath them.

“I promise,” he added They were just two words, but in that moment, coming from Lucas’s lips, they felt like a vow. It seemed like he was talking about so much more than what could happen on this horse.
“I trust you.” My response, while unexpected, was totally honest. I wasn’t sure when it had happened, but I did trust Lucas.

The falling into love made this book so much more than I thought it would be. Two people, two different views, two different lives, but one love weaving their way into our hearts.

I do have to say that Lucas. Lucas, Lucas Lucas, I loved him like no other man from her book. He was hard on the edges. Never apologized for anything, because he’s Lucas, he doesn’t need to, He had me at the first time he said hello!

I can’t wait for more!

I just recently discovered this series when the second book was on sale and I was really happy to see that the fourth book was on NetGalley. Even happier when I got approved.

If you read my review for Beneath This Ink, you may have noticed that I thought Lucas Titan was an ass. Forget everything about what I said! I love that guy! He was smocking hot and I have to say sorry to Con, hero of Beneath This Ink, because I have to throw him from the thrown. Lucas fucking Titan is my new favourite of this series.

He's such a bad boy, but with a heart of gold, hidden under many, many, MANY layers.

And Yve is now my book girl crush. I loved that girl. She had sass and always did the exact opposite of what Titan wanted from her. She was hilarious and I would love to have her as an real life best friend. I instantly liked her from the beginning.

I loved those two together even more. This whole hate relationship they had going on was fascinating and delivered really good tension between them. I love books where hate turns slowly to love.

The conversations between Yve and Lucas made me smirk a lot and let me tell you, smirking in the tram is just wrong. You get a lot of weird looks from surrounding people.

Beneath These Scars can be read as a stand-alone. Also why are you still reading this review? Go, get the damn book, because if you love Contemporary, you will love this!

I really need to read the other two books of the series as well, like yesterday.

Rating: 5 stars

I love this series! Sassy tough women and bossy men who get taken down a peg. Red hot romance too --

I know I'm supposed to hate him, but I just can't.

"No one makes it through life without scars. It's impossible. But they're not signs of shame; they're badges of honor showing that you fought and survived..."

Lucas comes off as this majorly arrogant man, but deep down, he just wants to find that one person that will heal his all his scars. But he'll never admit to that. And to have Yve be that person, goes against everything he ever wanted. But sometimes you don't have a choice in who you fall for.

I was taken in from the very first chapter. What can I say? I'm a sucker for the bad boys. And when Lucas sees Yve and instantly wants her, I was secretly hoping she doesn't make it easy for him. But knowing what Yve has dealt with, in her past, she has every right to give him trouble. She doesn't wanna go through that again.

There were quite a few scenes that had my heart racing. I was so scared and was glad I read it during the daytime. :) And then my heart was racing for a totally different reason. Their attraction was instant and intense, and I loved every moment of it.

There were a few other people, in the mix, that I am curious about and I hope they get they own books later on.

Beneath These Scars by Meghan March 4*

To say that I wasn't #TeamTitan in the previous books of this series is an understatement so I was absolutely looking forward to Lucas Effing Titan's story and the woman who would bring him to his knees. Yve certainly fills that role verrrry nicely and matches Lucas's pure alpha hotness, stubbornness and arrogance with gorgeous looks, determination and a sassiness of her own.

Watching these two come to grips with their developing relationship was exciting to be a part of, particularly witnessing their battle for dominance. And while both carry scars from their past, perhaps they can heal each other.

March marries up a suspense-filled storyline with captivating characters that had me begging for more. Frankly, I'm impressed that the man we grew to hate in Beneath This Ink is now a firm favorite of mine, while staying absolutely true to his arrogant self.

I don't know who the next book in this series will be about but you can bet I'll be on the lookout for it!

This is one of the best hate-fucking books I’ve read in a LONG time. Angry sex in the pool? check. Hate fucking in the kitchen? check. ‘Fuck you’ being screamed mid-orgasm? Triple Check. While Yve’s mind desperately wants to hate Lucas, her body has other ideas.

There is a new word for obstinacy and I shall call it Yvestinacy. That sounds a little bit like a disease, and I’m sort of sorry for that. But SERIOUSLY. Yve is incredibly stubborn, but I get it. She escaped the clutches of a terrible situation practically all by herself and she’s been relying on herself for so long she doesn’t know what it’s like to have support. Her scars run deep and are about to be ripped back open. I hated her pain but loved her triumph.

Lucas is a giant, muscular asshole who is equally scarred but beautiful. He’s really a dick. Completely and totally. If it’s not making him money, he doesn’t care. If he paid for it, he’s going to get his money’s worth. He takes charge and has control over every aspect of his life and he gets what he wants. Which is why when Yve tells him to go fuck himself, he’s both pissed and turned on.

The sparks between Yve and Lucas combust like the Big Bang, creating a new, stronger, version of each of them. As Yve learns to trust and Lucas learns to let go, there have to deal with hurdles of whatever this is.

Sexy and endearing, this modern day Beauty and the Beast tale made me fucking smile. Full of growls, demands, commands and hot as hell sex, I am all in when it comes to Lucas Titan. 5 stars!

Beneath These Scars is a love story about two broken people. Yve with a ex-husband who is due to be let out of prison any day now and Lucas who has a past he'd rather not share. This might be my favorite book in the Beneath Series so far! Meghan was able to pull some emotions out of me that are rare when I'm reading a book. She had my heart racing out of fear then out of excitement. Then of course she made me cry. The unexpected twist and turns throughout the book just made it. I'm glad Yve and Lucas got their happily ever after. They both deserved it! Great job Meghan! Keep writing.

I absolutely loved this book. Lucas is rich (mega rich), arrogant and demanding. Yve is strong and independent - she has been seriously hurt, both physically and emotionally by her ex-husband. He too, has secrets and pain in this past. Their story is SEXY, troubled and touching, all at the same time. Mystery and intrigue make up part of the story, which makes for some creepy times. Again, an absolute winner, a must read.

"You challenge, rebel against me, and pushed me on every level. I wouldn't have it any other way."

Ahhh.... I finally read my first book from Meghan March and now I'm hooked. I've been hearing nothing but rave reviews and praises for her Beneath Series and so when I was able to get my hands on Beneath These Scars, I was instantly captivated right off the opening pages. It was more like I was addicted and couldn't get enough of her writing and story-telling. Literally, I was only halfway thru the Beneath These Scars and I knew I had to one-click the previous three books of the series.

Each and everyone of us has our personal scar whether it be physical or emotional. Our scars are our own personal story. It is a reminder of our past, our ups and down, and most importantly a reminder that we are living. For some, scars may be a reminder of guilt, remorse, and sadness. But for others, scars may be a reminder of survival. And in Beneath These Scars, Ms. March engrosses her readers as she introduces her readers to two broken characters who both have physical and emotional scars. And beneath their scars, is a story of two strangers finding comfort, healing and love within one another. Their scars didn't define them as they are able to share their burdens with one another and prove to the world that their scars didn't destroy them but made them stronger emotionally and physically.

"He consumed me. With every thrust and retreat he unraveled me."

Beneath These Scars was an amazing read!!! This book had it all from a gripping and well-written story line that was filled with so much raw emotions, passion, beauty and suspense to keep readers like myself engaged and captivated. I love reading books about broken heroes and heroines because it allows readers to see imperfections and vulnerabilities which makes them more real and relatable.

Lucas Titan was the guy you love to hate. He was arrogant, cocky, and a total alpha male who has no problems making enemies. In simple terms, this man doesn't have many friends. So when he meets Yva Santos, he was immediately drawn to this sassy and feisty woman who had no problems reminding Lucas of what she thinks of him. Lucas is intrigued by Yva and her strong personality. She doesn't care that he's a billionaire. And when Yva didn't fall for Lucas's charm,it enticed him and he couldn't stop thinking of her.

Yva Santos does not want to ever be a kept woman. She vowed to herself that she will never be a victim. The physical and emotional scars that her ex-husband left was a reminder that she will no longer be that woman who lives in fear. But when she learns that her ex-husband has been released from prison, she finds herself retreating and slowly fears for her life and safety. Fear that her ex will want retaliation. But what Yva didn't expect was that fate was a funny thing. As much as Yva wanted to avoid Lucas, their paths kept inter-crossing and soon she find herself trying to fight off her sexual attraction to Lucas. Well she tried, but the more Lucas engages with her, she couldn't hold him off any longer but submitted to her desires and lust. And it only took one taste of each other for them to be both addicted. Soon Lucas and Yva were involved in a sexual relationship. Yva makes it known to Lucas that she wants only sex but soon they find their feelings and attachment to each other beginning to intensify. So can Yva let Lucas into her heart and make herself once again vulnerable to a man? Can Lucas show Ysa that her scars are a reminder that she is a strong, resilient, beautiful woman who survived? Can she allow Lucas to shoulder her burden? Or will Ysa push him away and allow her ex and fears ruin her chance for a happily ever after?

"I might be a little ragged around the edges, but I no longer felt like I was going to shatter into tiny pieces."

I absolutely adored and loved this book. Who doesn't love an enemy to lover trope? Because I know I sure do. There is nothing like getting lost in a story of two people finding an unexpected love. And the best kind of a love story is the unexpected. It's the unexpected that changes our lives. And for Lucas and Yva, their unexpected encounter lead them to love. What started off just as a booty call turn into something meaningful. For Yva, Lucas came into her life where she expected nothing out of it but suddenly she found him to mean everything in her life. So if you are looking for a story that reminds us all that love heals scars then I highly recommend you to read Beneath These Scars.

What can I say?

First, seriously, I love this series. It is one of my favorites. I started out of order, actually having read book 2 first, then went back and read 1, then 3, now 4....

I will admit this, I was predisposed to dislike Lucas Titan. You first meet him earlier in the series and honestly, I cannot recall one single redeeming quality about him.

You almost still dislike him in this book, however, underneath the arrogance there just may be a decent guy...

This is Yve's story...again, I may have even been predisposed to dislike her as well due to her HX with Con...but, I have to understand that Con was a ladies man before Vanessa so ok, I will get over that.

Yve comes from, as she puts it, a long line mistresses, if you will. However, she bucks tradition when she marries a rich man. However, this man was an abusive POS who ended up incarcerated due to his behaviors.

Years later, after his grandmother helps her get divorced and everything is swept under the rug by his father, she is working at the Dirty Dog boutique in NOLA. She encounters Lucas because she is friends with Elle and Vanessa, who are with Lord and Con, at the gym. Lucas begins his pursuit of her then, and of course, the rest is history. You have some pretty awesome sexy times between these two as the "hate f**k" their way towards working out their feelings in their heads. Fortunately, only one crazy stalker and psycho ex try to break up this happy home, but Lucas, true to his word, protects what is his.

All in all, I enjoyed this book. I mean, Lucas is no Lord, but really, who is ;)
I can't wait for the next installment

The book was a good. I like almost everything, the writing, the pace and romance but I just think that the H and h took a little too long to realise how they felt about each other. Apart from this as i said it was good read. I'll probably read another book by this author in the future.

Meghan March seduces her readers perfectly with the man should not want.

Lucas Titan makes you want to strip your clothes off and slap him upside the head within two minutes of meeting him. An egotistical, dominating, and power hungry man, who's this amazing complex character that you would have never seen coming. Irritating and enticing, once Lucas has sank his claws in, there's no stopping this sinful wicked man.

Yve Santos is a sassy, snarky and will lay it out like it is. She's not afraid to go toe to toe with the best of them. Yve has am amazing strength that keeps her moving forward, when most would retreat and hide. Yve surprised me at the powerhouse of a woman she is.

I never thought I would ever say I like Lucas Titan. If you have followed Ms. March's Beneath Series you know Lucas is not a good man. Everything he does benefits himself in every way. Rude and crude are great description of this man. And now we learn the other of side of man who I thought couldn't feel.

Lucas and Yve challenge each other on every level. Hate with attraction, that moves to sexual tension like none other, to insatiable chemistry. This dirty talking arrogant man needed the right kind of woman to stop in his tracks, question himself, and look beyond his wants. Seeing what love does to this hard ass man makes Beneath These Scars a top read of 2015.

WOW! What a great story! I was hooked from the moment I started reading. Sexy billionaire, Lucas Titan and vintage store manager, Yve Santos make an unlikely but awesome couple. The sparks start flying whenever they're in the same vicinity. The sex is smokin' and the descriptive dirty language coming from Lucas is enough to make a girl have to fan herself. Both of them have their issues from the past to deal with, which leaves scars on the inside and the outside but do the scars leave this unlikely couple too different to make it work?

Meghan March has done it again. Bravo! The story progressed smoothly and any questions you may have had while reading are all answered by the end. Great characters who each have amazing personalities. I can't wait to read more from this very talented author.

5* read.
I love Meghan March's Beneath series so when a chance came to review this one I jumped at it. This is book for in a series but can be read as a standalone although why would you want to just read this one, you need to read all the others first too and see for yourself how amazing this series is. Meghan writes the best stories with relatable characters who you fall in love with, including sexy alpha men and strong sassy females who take no sh**. My perfect type of book with my favourite type of characters, what more could a girl want.
This is Lucas and Yve's story who both have scars in some way from their pasts. Lucas is your typical domineering alpha and hot as a desert who also happens to be a billionaire. Yve is your strong independent woman who speaks her mind and take now bullsh** from anyone. As you can imagine you put these two together your going to expect fireworks and a whole lot of sexual tension. Its also not all plain sailing and there is some twists that you wont expect. I loved these two together and I completely fell in love with Lucas who is now my new book boyfriend (until Meghan's next book then I may change my mind again or just make room for another book boyfriend). Meghan's writing style completely captivates you from the very first chapter and has you reading none stop till you finish the book. I honestly can't wait for the next book in this series, I need me some more of Meghan's sexy alpha's. Great read and another outstanding book in this series.

This was my first Meghan March book. I suppose book 4 was probably not the smart place to start from but it didn't slow me down any. I can't wait to go back and read from the beginning.

This story is told in alternating POV's between Lucas fucking Titan and Yve Santos. Yve comes from a long line of mistresses. She refuses to be anyone's "kept" woman. She works hard to provide for herself and is not looking for any hand-outs. Lucas is a asshole billionaire who sets his sights on Yve. While on the outside he comes off as arrogant he is actually quite the provider and caretaker. He prefers to let everyone think he is a jerk though. Yve and Lucas are both very broken characters that have long and sordid histories. Together heads collide and sparks fly.

"No one makes it through life without scars."

This book packed a big punch. I was not expecting so much depth to the characters and such a interesting, winding plot. Lucas makes such a great character. There is a certain love/hate thing he has going on. I look forward to hopefully getting updates on Yve and Lucas in future books.

This is a great romantic read that draws you right in from the beginning.

Yve immediately hates Lucas the moment she meets him. He is everything she despises in a man: powerful, arrogant and cocky. He is also absolutely gorgeous and as much as she wants to hate him she wants him more. Yve battles between what her body wants and what her brain tells her. She is adamant to not end up like her mother and all the other women in her family: a woman who is taken care of by a man who wants to keep her in secret. Lucas seems to be the type of man who would want that of her despite what he tells her.

Lucas is a rich, powerful man who likes to control everything in his life. He is constantly battling his inner demons, desperately trying to silence the dead man's voice in his head as he tries to prove the voice wrong. Lucas knows that Yve is all wrong for him: he should be with someone who can help him further his company and has political power both of which Yve lack. However he can't help but begin to fall for her as they end up spending much time together than either of them expected.

When Yve's past comes back to haunt her can Lucas step up and save her or will his own demons prevent him from going after her?

Both of these characters were very easy to relate to and had pasts that I think most readers could relate to as well.

The book was a quick read but it didn't feel like anything was rushed or left out. This is the first book by Meghan March that I've read and it definitely makes me want to read other books she has written!

I so loved that Yve and Lucas were rounding each other in this story. Lucas fancies himself a bad boy that no one likes. Then Yve comes into his life like a hurricane and he wants her badly. Yve doesn't want a wealthy man as it goes against her fight to change her family history. She will be no man's mistress. Thus comes her challenge as she is very attracted to Lucas, but can't let herself have him. Thank goodness he is just so damn hard to resist as they are scorching hot together. I so loved this series as Meghan just draws readers into the lives of these people. Yve and Lucas are broken yet together they make the most perfect sense. I so enjoyed their story.

I give Beneath These Scars 5 hearts!

I have not read anything by Meghan March before Beneath These Scars. It has a true beast wearing a suit hero and a sassy, with-a-chip-on-her-shoulder heroine. I wasn’t sure how this book would when I started reading it. Lucas is definitely arrogant, obnoxious and lacking in people skills. As I read on I could see the prince beneath the beastly amour he wore. As for Yve, I begin to admire this survivor who stood her ground. Their relationship is purely based on lust in the beginning but even that changed as the story progressed.

The story is told from his and her POV very effectively. This is a strength of the book so that you can see the complex personalities besides just seeing their actions. At times, the language and actions of the characters is crude and rude giving the story a street feel instead of how the rich and famous live. Even more the plot has some twists that I did not see coming. I was pretty sure the ultimate villain causing problems was not who Yve thought it was. It came as a surprise to me.

The ending is very fitting too for the characters. Beast does not suddenly become a prince, nonetheless he is the princely beast that Yve wants. Maybe not a Disney happily ever after, but a real life kind of one.

5 saucy stars!

Wow. Stinking WOW. You never know what to expect when embarking on a book by an author that's new to you. Which, is exactly how I felt when I began Beneath These Scars by Meghan March. I absolutely love it when I'm knocked off kilter by amazing writing, demanding characters, and intrigue laced with total hotness. YES PLEASE!

Lucas Titan is an arrogant billionaire, and devastatingly handsome to boot. Yve Santos is a curvaceous, jaded, sassy pants that positively refuses to fall for Titan's advances. Until she does. Neither are willing to bare their deepest scars, choosing to have a 'benefits only' type of relationship. We all know how fate intervenes in such situations though, and it was an absolute delight to watch Titan and Yve loosen their grip on fear, and allow themselves to be loved. Delicious, powerful, and oh-so-gratifying.

I will absolutely, positively be back for more by this author. Her story combined all the elements I adore in a 5-star read. This was an intoxicating experience that I thoroughly enjoyed! In fact, I already gifted the Kindle edition to a friend!

4 Hot Scorching Stars!

This is the 4th book in the Beneath Series. It can be read as a standalone, but there are characters from previous books that interconnect with this one.
This is the story of Lucas Titan and Yve Santos.
I will start with Lucas Titan, the hot brooding cutthroat of a man, especially when it comes to his empire. He has no problem on playing dirty to get what he wants for his empire and he has made some enemies along the way. He doesn't care who he tramples on in the process to get what he wants, until he meets a certain Yve Santos and Lucas wants her but she shoots him down flat.
Yve Santos is a woman determined stand on her own two feet. She doesn't want to be anyones burden or a kept woman by any man, especially Lucas Titan. She doesn't want anything to do with him and shoots him down often enough, but her body has a mind of its own and eventually she can't resist him any longer.
The sexual tension between these two is scorching hot and it certainly kept my attention throughout the book! But that wasn't the only thing to grip me with this book. The past of Lucas and Yve are both heartbreaking and you can understand why they are the way they are. It really made me feel for both of them.
This is the first book of Meghan March's that I've read and it won't be the last as I thoroughly enjoyed it! It has great characters, romance some scorching sex scenes and of course fantastic writing! I will most definitely be picking up the rest of the books in this series and so should you!

Ms. March's Beneath series continues to entertain with its delicious and compelling heroes, steamy interactions, engaging pacing, and likable heroines. This tale captivates from the first page to the last and once the final page is turned I'm already longing for more as Ms. March's talent looms large.

Titus is a larger than life man, focused on getting ahead despite who he walks on. While his arrogance might make him less than heroic in some reader's eyes I found myself enamored with him and his hidden heart of gold. He's a commanding presence, honest in who is, who oozes sex appeal and who can get any woman he wants. What fuels this story is his inability to get the strong-willed Yve who leads him on a merry chase which brought a smile to my face as he was left bewildered by her actions. His connection to Yve crackled from their first meeting which led to lots of angry and scorching sex as she continually denied her feelings for Titus. Through it all he fought for her which added to his sex appeal and left me drooling over him.

Yve is a strong-willed woman left bruised by an abusive ex. Never wanting to give a man power over her again has her trying to fight her attraction to Titus continually, with not much luck. Despite their scorching interludes Yve won't open her heart to him which leaves her life in jeopardy as her past comes back to haunt her in an exciting yet over the top conclusion. Ultimately Yve's a likable heroine, a formidable match for Titus, who kept him on his toes in a sexy battle of the sexes. Though I did become frustrated by her push and pull I could understand it after what she went through with her ex.

With its delicious and misunderstood hero, this fourth installment in the Beneath series keeps readers entertained in a world full of people just trying to survive. It's a gritty world at times and easily immerses readers in its intense emotions, scorching sexual interludes, and compelling characters. Though it can be read on its you'll soon find yourself wanting to discover more about the delectable Titus by revisiting his past. Ms. March's talent continues to shine with this book that has me hoping for more installments in this series!

"'No one makes it through life without scars. It's impossible. But they're not signs of shame; they're badges of honor showing that you fought and survived. That's why I've never hidden mine, but you've never moved on.'"

A build-up of sexual tension that slowly makes its way to the top before it explodes. Lucas and Yve have an intense love/hate relationship that will draw you in, and that mixed with Meghan's writing style will have you glued to the pages.

Yve Santos is a fierce, independent woman. She doesn't want or need anyone's help. She's fought for every single scrap of dignity and bravery that she puts forth, and she'll be damned if any man tries to put her down even the slightest notch. When she meets Lucas Titan, he becomes everything that she's known for hating...and yet, something in him stirs something deep down inside of her. She hates to want him, but he isn't making it easy for her to resist. And she knows that's his game plan.

Lucas Titan is known for being the enemy. He's ruthless, ambitious, and is more than happy if he has to step on a few toes to get what he wants. And he's used to getting what he wants; what with his handsome appearance and wicked skills in the bedroom, no one tells him no. Except for Yve. And she's not playing hard to get either. She fascinates him, beguiles him, and yet...there's something he's seeing in her that goes deeper than all of that. He'll end up going from the villain to the leading hero real quick without even a thought.

I loved the banter between Lucas and Yve. They had this great push/pull going on. Ms. March wrote another great, sexy story that had characters with depth, real-life issues, and attractive personalities. I think this was her strongest heroine yet, and I loved it. In their moments of weakness where they truly connected, both physically and emotionally, it was electric and vibrant. You craved the pull so that the push was that much better. I can't wait for more in the series.

A good well-written story. Enjoyed it a lot. Hard to put down.

I have been sitting on this review for days. There are many things that I want to say about this book, and in particular its author, Meghan March. You see, I really believe that one of the best things I think I have done as a book blogger was sign up for Beneath This Mask way back almost a year ago. Now I know this review is for Lucas and Yve, in Beneath These Scars, but really and more importantly, something that I want you to take from this review is how amazing Meghan March’s writing really is. I am always instantly drawn into the story from the very first page and she always blows me away with her skill. Meghan has a knack for writing extremely strong female Heroines, they have depth, and a back story to rival their male counterparts, which by the way, are nothing short of stunning. They are strong as well. They love their girls fiercely, and there is always a healthy dose of conflict to keep you guessing what might be ahead.
Beneath These Scars is no different. Lucas Titan is not a good guy, and really that is the truth. He is my favorite type of male in a story, the anti-hero. The guy that you don’t know if he will change his stripes, but pull for him the whole way. The bad boy that might have good intentions hidden beneath the surface. The one that would fight to protect everything he has. He is intense, to say the least. He is successful. He’s cocky because in Lucas Titan’s world, it revolves around him. He gets what he wants, and he is used to it. He is not used to having to chase after something, but has a fun time doing it.

Yve Santos is the snarky woman that runs the vintage store Dirty Dog. She is highly successful as well. She doesn’t own the store but she might as well. She has been doing everything involved with it by herself for a long time. She has a past as well. In fact, it’s a little traumatic and she tends to keep people at arm’s length. She has this abrasiveness to her, but she’s loyal. Yve is friends with Charlie, Elle, and Vanessa, so when Mr. Titan comes to blows with someone close to them, she doesn’t want anything to do with him. And that is putting it lightly. She hates Lucas.

These two are both fighting past insecurities that always seem to bubble up, and the both of them have to realize that neither one contributed to past transgressions. Set in New Orleans, as with the rest of the Beneath Series; Meghan always gives vivid detail of the city, and I feel like I can see it. Even though I have never been.
Beneath These Scars sends us down a path of suspense, love, and maybe a little redemption for the anti-hero? These two will have a fight on their hands and I want you to read, no I urge you to read this book to find out what happens, when you look Beneath These Scars.
So really, in closing, which sounds so formal. Ha! What I really need for you to understand, is that Meghan March is a gem. I can only name a handful of authors that make me feel the way she does, when I have one of her books in my hand or on my kindle. She’s one of those authors that you don’t need a blurb to know if you are going to read the next book or not. An instant one click. A, she could rewrite the phonebook and I would read it, author.
Pick up Beneath These Scars. Even though I am very, very partial to Beneath This Mask, Lucas’s book is the best of the series. Everything flows together beautifully, and before you know it you’re at the end wanting more. They just keep getting better.

5++ Stars. A must read now, recommendation.

Another great read from Meghan March! This has become one of my favorite series – I just love all of the characters and each and every story in this series has pulled me in and kept me reading well past my bedtime.

Lucas Titan is the guy we all love to hate. He’s got it all, but he also has the scars that he carries inside that drives him to be the villain that he sees himself as. I loved watching his world get turned upside down by Yve – she was just what he needed, someone to stand up to him and challenge him at every turn. He’s so used to calling the shots that when Yve won’t fall in line like everyone else, he can’t help but be intrigued and ultimately ensnared by her.

Of course Yve knows getting involved with another rich guy is only setting herself up for more hurt, but she simply can’t get her mind and her body on the same page. She’s been a victim in the past and is determined to never be one again. Of course she’s so intent on being strong she is scared to put trust in anyone to help her, something that Lucas is determined to do. I loved the strength that Yve had and it was wonderful watching her begin to trust and rely on someone other than herself – even if it was Lucas Titan!

These two were HOT together – even though they don’t like each other (or so they said!), their attraction was off the charts and there was no denying they wanted each other. This made for some great dialogue between the two – it was so much fun watching Yve try to put Lucas in his place and keep the upper hand.

The suspense part of the book was well done. Watching Yve’s past catch up to her made a nice backdrop to the relationship part of the story. Without this plot line I don’t think there would have been a chance for these two to break down the emotional barriers they both had built. I loved the plot twist at the end and loved the way all the parts and pieces came together.

Emotionally I didn’t make as deep a connection with Lucas and Yve as I did with the characters in the other books. I loved both of them and was rooting for them to find their happy ever after, but because of how these characters were made, it was hard to get beneath the surface to really “feel” with them. Both Lucas and Yve are wrapped pretty tight, and although there were a couple of moments, these two kept their emotions pretty closed off.

I loved catching up with many of the characters from the other books. One of my favorite parts about this series is the interaction between all the characters and coming across bits that are referenced between books – the author has done a great job weaving all these stories together!

I highly recommend this book and series – as I said before, this series has quickly become one of my favorites and Lucas and Yve did not disappoint!

Loved it! Amazing writer! Amazing series!

This was one of those books that made me wonder why I haven’t read this author's work before. I was also not aware that Lucas Titan had a bit of reputation. But you know what? It does not matter. Lucas Titan has my heart and nothing can change that.

Lucas Titan has earned his reputation as a dirty player. He does not abide by anyone's rules and does what is required to fulfill his desire for success. He will use you without any second thoughts if it serves his purpose. But underneath this entire tough bad guy exterior is a man who fiercely cares for the woman he loves. You just know that Lucas Titan is going to own your heart and you would happily hand it to him on a silver platter. Just his name is enough to give you shivers.

Yve Santos is determined to stand on her own two feet. She strives hard to be independent and when Lucas comes roaring into her life, threatening all that she lives to be, she needs to stay far away from him. Too bad her body thinks otherwise.

This book is so much more than a cocky billionaire meets a sassy independent girl. The emotions in this book leave you raw, the chemistry and passion between Lucas and Yve leave you panting for more. Their delicious love - hate relationship turned out to be such an emotional bonding.

The book kept getting better and better. The characters clicked, the story was captivating, the romance was heartfelt and good God the sex was scrumptious.

Meghan March made this book a perfect combination of everything I love to read and I had to other option than to fall in love with every word of this book.

I truly thought I was done with billionaire heroes, but Meghan March roped me in with this one. It's just such a tiny piece of the dynamic, complex hero, that it contributes to but doesn't dominate the story. How refreshing. This is the 4th in a series, I have not read the others, but I was not at all lost or confused. The secondary characters are quirky and memorable enough to warrant seeking out the previous books. I appreciated the depth and layers of both the hero and heroine. It was easy to make that emotional connection and root for them to reach that happily ever after moment. Beneath These Scars is evenly paced, well crafted, and extremely entertaining.

I became an instant fan of Meghan March when I first read Beneath These Chains earlier this year. Her writing, her alphas, the super sexy romance, the story, everything about her book just…worked for me. Now while I did feel like I was missing a bit of a backstory here since Lucas was first introduced in Beneath This Ink and I haven’t read that yet, that never once diminished my enjoyment. Meghan does a fantastic job giving readers that backstory so the book can be easily enjoyed as a standalone. BTS teaser-DGRLucas. Fucking. Titan. Just that name alone gives me shivers. I mean, the man is as intense as he is hated, and for good reason too. Lucas hasn’t exactly been making friends in his determination for success. He has no problem using people or playing dirty and that’s certainly amassed his share of enemies. But Lucas isn’t a man that cares about that…until he meets the woman that tempts him beyond reason…and turns him down flat.
I held his stare, not wanting him to see how easily my body responded to him. “Never gonna happen.” “For every time you tell me never, I’m going to make you beg longer to come the next time I have you.”
Yve Santos is determined to stand on her own two feet. She’s no one’s mistress or kept woman. The last thing she needs in her life is an entitled billionaire, even if the asshole is sexier than sin. She wants nothing to do with him, and tells him that often. Unfortunately her words lack conviction when said asshole also turns her own body traitor on her and turns her on with just his broody stare and husky voice alone. BTC teaser-DGRSo basically we have delicious hate lust, an asshole billionaire, and a sassy, smart mouthed heroine that isn’t shy about putting him in his place…and I loved it. It was like this book was custom written just for me. Truth be told, nothing revs my engine more than enemies to lovers trope, add in an underlaying of sexual chemistry strong enough to level a building and I’m putty in your hands. I absolutely devoured this book. DEVOURED it, I tells ya!
He consumed me. With every thrust and retreat, he unraveled me.
But it’s also so much more than billionaire meets sassy but down on her luck heroine. There’s a very solid story that weaves flawlessly with the romance to make this one unputdownable read. While it’s clear that Lucas has his secrets, Yve has her own, and they may just be deadly. Can she let Lucas in enough to save her or will they crash and burn with their fiery passion? Guess you’ll have to read to find that out. You didn’t expect me to tell you that, did you? What I can tell you is that these books seem to get better and better for me. I loved everything about it; the characters, the romance, the writing, and the oh sweet baby jebus scorching hot sex. What? I never claimed to be virtuous here and the sex was that hot. All growly and hatey and everything. DELICIOUS. If you haven’t read this series yet, I strongly recommend you do. While you can just as easy read this book as a standalone, I think it’d be best enjoyed read in series order. Besides, if the last 2 heroes I read by Meghan March are anything to go by, Con and Simon are sure to be just as hot. Trust me on this, this is a series you need to read.
No one makes it through life without scars. It’s impossible. But they’re not signs of shame; they’re badges of honor showing that you fought and survived

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. A solid 4 stars for contemporary characters that grabbed my attention and built steadily so that I was eager to keep reading. If you've followed the series, Titan will be a familiar name and character. He is the perfect bad boy that also happens to be a savvy businessman with a lot of money. He lacks scruples and is out only for himself. Yve, also a familiar character from Beneath these chains, runs a vintage clothing boutique. Their paths cross through mutual friends and Titan is taken with Yve........for what he can get. These two have angry sparks and intense, attraction sparks. Their interactions are invariably clashes and it makes for fun reading. There is a good storyline running through the book that supports the relationship between these two well. This series delivers consistently in quality and enjoyment.

I LOVE this book and I LOVE the series. I have been hooked from the first and they just keep getting better. I have to say that I wasn't sure about this one because when we met Lucas in a previous book he was such an a**. Lucas is drop dead gorgeous and sexy but he is a complete jerk....but hey...it works for him. He's not looking to make any friends and his money pretty much assures that things go his way and he gets what he wants. Well....he sets his sights on Yve. Yve knows about his past and the situation with her friend so she really dislikes him. But she can't deny there is a mutual attraction. Megan March does a great job of turning up the heat and this book is no different. We get to see Lucas brought to his knees by Yve and yes his is basically still a jerk but you just can 't help but love him.

I think this is probably my favorite book of the series. They are all fantastic and I highly recommend reading them starting at book 1.

Beneath these scars is a wonderful book that takes not only readers on a journey but the characters themselves. Lucas Titan isn't the nicest person around. He's unapologetic for the most part and full of Alpha tendencies.

Yve hasn't had a good life, she suffered for years, and now her past is coming back with a vengeance and she's left floundering to keep herself steady. She doesn't want to need anyone, but truth is she jsut might this time.

I loved Lucas, I have always had a thing for the bad boys, and he was definitely that, but inside his arrogant alpha self, he was also a really GOOD guy. Yve also stole over my feelings with her unfolding past and the way it was coming back into her present. I couldn't help but watch as these to stubbornly strong people fought their attraction and primal chemistry.

Beneath these Scars had everything I could ask for in a story, Drama, action, steam, and characters that sucked you in and had you taking their sides and hoping for the best. Meghan March wrote a masterpiece between these two characters, a story that grabs you and keeps you right on the edge of your seat as you can't wait to turn the page to find out what is coming. Emotions bleed off the page and its easy to see the painful pasts and how they have affected the lives of the characters.

WOW!! I think Lucas Fucking Titan just took Con and Lord through them over the wall!! He definitely wins for alpha male with a heart, but don't tell him I said that!!

Yve is a strong, tough, determined, stubborn woman. She does everything herself and doesn't need anyone's help. Her past reminds her of that. Lucas Titan won't stop showing up places and trying to lure her in a different direction. She can't allow that to happen and she as shit isn't going to let Lucas Fucking Titan rule over her! But when her apartment gets tampered with and she has nowhere to go, Lucas comes to the rescue, unknowingly, damn him!! ;)

Lucas Titan has been called many things but the words that spew out of Yve's mouth are the best. Her spitfire attitude has him raring to go at all times. But he just needs a few dally's with her and he has to get back to making his millions....he doesn't have room for a woman right now. After few HOT encounters, though, Lucas is thinking and feeling differently, now to just get Yve on the same page. When Yve's past becomes more problems than she can handle Lucas becomes the man she needs and hangs on to in her weakest moments and he'll be damned if he ever lets her go again.

Lucas is FOR SURE my fav guy in this series!!! His cold unfeeling asshole heart found someone to unthaw it in the most "I hate you" unconventional way! These two definitely did not plan on EVER liking each other, much less having some MIND BLOWING, HOT SEX!! I'll never look at a store counter the same after this book. Don't even get me started on how hot that was!!! Let's just say a fan blowing wasn't enough to cool me down!! Another great book by Meghan March!!

When I read the first book in the Beneath series I was completely bowled over and couldn’t wait to read more of this author’s work. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to read books 2 and 3 which I plan to remedy before it’s too late. I do believe that failure to do so would be a travesty especially after reading Beneath These Scars which I have to admit I totally enjoyed. What I like so far about this series is that each of these books can be read as a stand-alone.

This story is about Lucas Titan and Yvonne Santos. I must admit that initially I did not like Lucas and after reading the other reviews I realise that I was not alone in my feelings. He came off as arrogant, cocky and domineering. He was feared in the business world and not well liked in the social world. However, as I got deeper into the story I realized that there was more to Lucas Titan than what meets the eye. He is a complex character and I enjoyed uncovering all his layers. It just goes to show that being rich does not exempt one from having human flaws.

Yvonne (Yve) has a troubled past, but she is not going to allow it to control her life. She is strong, independent and sassy. She is not the typical woman that Lucas usually dates. As such he was confused when he found himself attracted to her. Because of the terrible events of her past Yve had trust issues when it came to accepting help from others, especially from the arrogant Lucas Titan. She preferred to fight her battles on her own. I was pleased to see her finally letting go of her insecurities and realizing there is no shame in accepting help even if it’s from a billionaire.

I loved the interaction between Lucas and Yve. They brought out the best and at times the worst in each other. The sexual tension was off the charts and when these two eventually became intimate I thought my kindle would combust. Yve tried to fight her attraction to Lucas but that was not an easy feat. Her body would just not cooperate with her mind.

I loved the suspense that was included in the story. It was evident that someone wanted to hurt Yve. I loved the twist that the author introduced; I must admit it took me by surprise. I believe that it helped to pull the whole story together. It helped Lucas and Yve come to terms with the issues that had caused them to erect the emotional barriers that were preventing them from ceasing their happily ever after.

Beneath These Scars is the type of story that will remain with you for some time. The writing was good and the story riveting. It held my attention from start to finish. I was sorry to see it end. I highly recommend this title.

My Beneath These Scars Review ...

"No one makes it through life without scars. It's impossible. But they're not signs of shame; they're badges of honor showing that you fought and survived. That's why I've never hidden mine, but you've never moved on."

I am a big fan of this series so I was excited to read Yve & Lucas's story. Especially because even though Lucas was one of those guys you love to hate, I knew he was going to have a soft side. However, after reading it, I did like it, but it wasn't my favorite of the series.

We meet Yve in Beneath this Mask and we get to realize that she has a past that she keeps tight to the vest. Lucas we meet in Beneath this Ink and immediately have a love to hate him theme going on. From the beginning in Beneath These Scars these two have a love hate relationship but can't deny the their chemistry. They start to just have a sex only relationship but with Yve's past coming to the forefront, Lucas is forced to try and protect her.

"He can't help by meddle. He's a fixer, my dear."

I liked the idea of the story and I understood where Yve came from. I even get the once burnt concept but the martyr thing along with the I don't need any help theme got to be tiresome by reading it over and over and over again.

"And you'll call me if anything freaks you out." I hesitated for a fraction of a second. This was my problem.

But I couldn't rely on anyone but myself. That would be a mistake.

"Do you ever let anyone help you, Yve?"

"I don't need you to fix this for me." "I know, but you don't need to do it alone, Yve."

"You're in denial. and you're lying to me. If there's anyone who understands what it means to have secrets, it's me. But when those secrets start putting your life in danger, it's time to come clean to someone who can help you. "

My determination to be strong and deal with this all by myself suffered another foundation-shaking blow.

"Why? Why would you want to help me?" "Because despite the fact that I'm an asshole, I'm not the kind of asshole who's going to let you face whatever the hell is going on here by yourself."

After Yve FINALLY lets her guard down, is when I got caught up into the story and found the sweetness of Lucas and Yve. Lucas goes from the love to hate to the love to love type of guy. He may come across as a bit of an asshole but he's really a big ol' softie inside.

What I can't wait for are Hennessy & then Bishop's stories. I have a feeling they are going to be great. So my fingers are crossed that one of those will be the next one in the series.

Did I like this story? Yes, but Yve's baggage got to be too much for me. Was this my favorite of the series? Definitely no, but it was still a good one. Favorite character? Jerome than Lucas. Least favorite character? Yve, but not the whole way through. Most excited for next? Hennessy's story. Love that fact that he's seems to be the man to know around NOLA and can't wait for him to find his HEA.

3.5 Love to hate to love thumbs up!

Meghan March hit a homerun with Lucas and Yve. The build up of their love/hate relationship kept me turning the pages late into the night to finish it.

How do these books just keep getting better and better? As a huge fan of the Beneath series by Meghan March, I find myself asking this same question with each new book. From the moment I heard talk of Lucas Titan finally telling his story, one thing I knew for certain was that I needed to get my hands on Beneath These Scars as soon as humanly possible and the other thing I was certain of was that I was going to love it. After all, what's not to love? A filthy mouthed, sexy as sin alpha and a strong and sassy woman meet, butt heads to no end, and find healing beneath the scars of the past. I, of course, was right making Beneath These Scars my new favorite in the series and new favorite altogether.

Starting out with the long awaited showdown between Lucas Titan and Con Leahy is definitely one way to get your blood flowing and your adrenaline pumping right off of the bat. Add to that Meghan March's witty and humorous writing style with many a delightful one liner that kept me smiling and chuckling throughout. Sprinkle in a good bit of suspense around every turn and, as if the rest of the book wasn't gripping enough, reveal a shocking twist at the end and you have yourself a book that you simply cannot stop reading, one that will keep you glued to its pages, and one that is sure to keep you up well past your bedtime.

Once the hint of Yve's past was mentioned in previous books, I admit I was a bit curious about her and where she came from, but I was always so enthralled with the couple at the time that I never really had a chance to give her much of a second thought. What a mistake that was. Yve is admirably tough, competent, quirky, and wonderfully sassy and I loved every minute of being inside this woman's head. Strong, determined, and feisty, sometimes to a fault, Yve owns it and makes it respectable, commendable, and totally endearing.

Two people who don't take flack from anyone? Sounds like a match made in heaven. Of course there are bound to be some bumps along the way, a relationship like this is anything but easy. Lucky for me, a relationship that begins with a healthy dose of animosity has always been a favorite of mine as it makes for one intensely passionate love story. Let me tell you, Lucas and Yve have loathing and hostility in spades. In the case of these two, they have blisteringly explosive chemistry and the anger always simmering just beneath the surface makes even the most mundane of encounters between them exciting and pulse racing. With plenty of scathing repartee, witty quips and comebacks and some of the best hate sex I have ever read, Yve and Lucas take enemies to lovers to a whole new level. Yve needs someone who knows what he wants, is not afraid to chase after it, and isn't pushed away easily. Lucas always gets what he wants (with one glaring exception) and he has decided he wants Yve. Any other man would have given up long ago, but not the almighty Mr. Titan who refuses to accept any other answer. Who knew the clash of these titans could be so fun, sexy, and oh so tasty?

The Lucas Titan we have seen in the past has been downright deplorable, but this time around we get to see both sides of Mr. Titan, the hardnosed, no nonsense businessman as well as the sweet and attentive lover that it seems only Yve can bring out. And when she does? Lucas Effing Titan of all people made my heart clench time and again and made me melt into a puddle of my own drool with his ardent possessiveness, his stunning attentiveness, his unexpected sensitivity, and his deliciously dirty mouth. I am a sucker for a man that is hard to get a good read on, who seems unapproachable and maybe even potentially unlovable, but when it comes down to it, he is kind, caring, and considerate as the best of them when the right woman comes along. A man that only shows his woman his softer, vulnerable side. If you looked Lucas Titan up in the dictionary, this would be the definition. When he is with Yve he is a completely different man than the one that we all grown to love to hate, one who will completely win you over, and one you just can't help but fantasize about what it would be like to call him your own.

Meghan March has done it again. Just when I think it just doesn't get any better than this, Beneath These Scars ups the ante. Delightfully charming, searingly hot, and wonderfully thrilling, this is my favorite book thus far and I can't wait to see where things go from here.

This is my first Meghan March book that I have read…(I want to read more now.) She has a way of sucking you into the story without you even knowing it. She really has a knack for getting every important detail right as well! Beneath These Scars had me hooked, word for word, until the very end. This book is dramatic, suspenseful, full of amazing sex, and sexual tension.

Enter Lucas Titan, the overly confident, sexy, powerful, domineering man (So essentially the man of my DREAMS!) He is your perfect alpha male. He considers himself to be the bad guy. In reality he really does mean well. He protects those who he cares about and has a way of making you do things his way, and by his way he really means HIS way. He doesn’t let anything or anyone get in his way….That is of course until Yve Santos enters his life!

Yve Santos is a proud woman. She doesn’t like to ask for help but sometimes it just shows up, kind of like Lucas Titan. Yve, just so happens to tell it like it is, she takes no S***, and she does, or tries to do everything on her own accord. After escaping an abusive relationship, Yve has found her place in society running the Dirty Dog. But one day she finds out that her ex-husband has been released from prison and some very strange and downright creepy things start to happen. She accepts an offer from her friend Levi to crash at his place, only to realize that his brother is the sexy as sin Lucas Titan.

After what was supposed to be a “one night stand,” Yve and Lucas come up with an “agreement.” But as things start to heat up between them, Lucas cannot help but try to protect Yve from her past.

Seriously, Meghan March must have magic coming from her because the words flowed together so well and every word was on point. She honestly could not have done any better writing this book and I will definitely be reading more from her!

Lucas Titan is a man who gets what he wants, when he wants it, and allows no one to stand in his way, but he's finally put in his place by a sassy, strong woman who refuses to allow the scars of her past to rule her present. She will not cower to Titan's demands nor allow him to rule her life, but regardless of her disdain for him, her body wants his, and once they start, they just might be the only person for each other who can see beneath one another's regrets, pain, and facade.

Holy Hell is Lucas Titan one arrogant bastard, but here’s the thing, he has EVERY right to be that way because he’s a self made man who looks only to himself to build and grow his empire. Lucas thrives on control, power, and dominance, but he realizes that he also likes the challenge that Yve brings into his life, and as they give into their physical attraction for one another, Lucas and Yve slowly start to realize beneath each other’s tough exteriors is someone who longs unconditional love and someone at his/her back because regardless of how much they abhor asking anyone for help, they truly deserve respect, care, and comfort from someone who understands their scars and sees past them.

Yve Santos has always been a bit of a mystery in Meghan March’s Beneath series. But readers could tell without a doubt that she’s lived through a horrific past that puts her on edge, exacerbates her fears, and keeps a voice in her head that brings her to her knees with worthlessness. But Lucas Titan brings out her sass and bossiness, allowing her to gain back some of the control that she lost at the hands of her ex husband.

I absolutely loved Beneath These Scars, and Lucas Titan is by far my favorite of Meghan March’s heroes because he is who he is and he doesn’t give a shit, at least externally, what others think about him. He may take drastic and underhanded steps to get what he wants, but that’s because he’s used to taking care of himself and fighting tooth and nail for what he wants. His scars come from his relationship with his deceased father and every step he has taken since his father’s death has been to prove that he’s a better man than his father ever was in terms of his intelligence and drive to succeed. I never hated Lucas in the other books in the series because at some level, I understood his game plan and I saw that there was more to him than his duplicitous ways.

I love the fact that readers get to witness Lucas and Yve’s story through both of their perspectives because it allows us to truly see underneath all of their actions and attitudes; their love to hate relationship is both comical and incredibly hot because their explosive feelings are translated into sexy and spiteful interactions,

making for one hell of a fun read.

I dare readers to be introduced to Lucas Titan in Beneath These Scars and not find his take charge attitude and demanding personality hot as hell and totally worth his dominating ways!

I have to give author Meghan March a lot of credit for introducing a hero who was obviously not a fan favorite and for redeeming him enough to make him acceptable but not so much that it wasn’t believable. Beneath These Scars is a tribute to this author’s ability to write engaging characters, a complicated love story with a bit of suspense to make it interesting not to mention the hot as hell intimate scenes she manages to create in every single book. This book embodies everything about the city of New Orleans in which it is set; it is spicy, it is colorful, it is crazy, it is unique and it is flat out a fantastic addition to this already strong series.

Lucas Titan really is the kind of hero I do not like very much; plain and simple he is an alphahole and he’ll flat out tell you that it is true and he’s not a good man. That in and of itself is one of the reasons I could tolerate him because he made no bones about the fact that he feels he’s not a good person. The other reason I could tolerate him is Yve Santos a woman who calls him on his sh*t from the moment she meets him, a woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind to him and one who doesn’t fall into line with his way of thinking and this intrigues him. It shows me that he’s not above giving in when it is the right person.

There was no doubting from their first encounter that Yve really didn’t think a whole lot about Lucas but that he was interested in her. It put him in a unique position of having to work for a woman for a change. The both have some scars both mental and physical and getting past them takes some time and perseverance on both their sides. I enjoyed watching them try and figure each other out; seeing a different side of Lucas in that he realized Yve would not be easy and would challenge him always and Yve seeing past Lucas’ wealth and status and realizing that he was about more than his next business deal or conquest. There was a quiet respect between these two which led to a relative drama free relationship once they got past Yve’s initial reservations.

I enjoyed seeing some of the characters from the prior books in this series and some new characters introduced just added to an already strong cast. It will be interesting to see how the group dynamics change now that this couple will have more contact with the others now that they are involved.

Undeniably sexy and engaging from beginning to end Beneath These Scars is everything I’ve come to expect from this author and more.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Beneath This Mask (Beneath #1)
Beneath This Ink (Beneath, #2)
Beneath These Chains (Beneath #3)

This is Yve and Lucas’s story. After missing a chance with 2 women before he is determined to find the right person for him. With Lucas and Yve they both have scarred pasts. They both ouch each other in everything they do. Will they be able to stop bickering long enough to fall for each other? With the people trying to come between them do they even have a chance? If they do come together will it be worth it in the end? When Yve’s past comes back can Lucas save her? Will he be the one man she never thought she wanted? Will Lucas be able to protect Yve and give her everything he knows she deserves?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This author is amazing. I fell in love with her Beneath series and each book she produces in it continues to get better and better. Ms. March has a way of drawing you in and keeping your interest in her stories. Her books are sinfully sexy and oh so delicious. She delivers heroes that makes us swoon and fall hard. She also gives us heroines that we can root for while they fight their own battles because of their strength. I loved this book in this series and cannot wait for more soon!

I loved this book. Another great addition to this amazing series and definitely my favorite in this series. This book was super intense, edgy, sexy, sweet, and a touch of suspense along the way. This book is a true standalone though there is a character crossovers so spoilers are ahead if you read this alone. Told in dual POV, get ready to take a sinfully sexy ride with Yve and Lucas. This is the kind of book that will stay with you long after it's over and have you begging for more by the end.

This is Yve and Lucas' story. Both have their own scars they wear. Yve is fighting against an abusive past should would love to forget and Lucas is fighting his own demons from his past. Lucas is the man you love to hate. He will push your buttons and your boundaries. Yve is a girl who is only as strong as she can be but still tough as nails. These two have tons of chemistry and whether they are fighting or ripping each other's clothes off, the passion can't be denied. Can Yve be saved when her past comes barreling back in? Can Lucas be the TRUE white knight who can save her?

I highly recommend this book.

As soon as I read the synopsis of Beneath These Scars - I wanted to read it. What can I say? I have a thing for the unorthodox heroes, you know, the ones that most consider to be the bad guy, but they aren't, not completely. And boy, did Ms. March deliver my bad/good hero with this book! It was excellent and I loved it!

Yve is an incredibly strong, stubborn, and determined heroine. She has a lot of pride and she doesn't want anyone's help. I'll admit that got on my nerves a little, but I could understand where she was coming from even if I didn't agree with her all the time. I really only had mild twinges of annoyance at some of her stubbornness and it helped a lot that it's not constantly in your face. When you push that all aside, I love how strong Yve is and that she's so determined to be strong and that she doesn't let Lucas get away with everything. Yve is a passionate, smart heroine and totally perfect for Lucas.

Well, you know I already love Lucas because of his bad but not really bad guy status! For real though, I loved him - he's arrogant and cocky and some of his thoughts are shocking because they're so arrogant, but it didn't rub me the wrong way. He has his jerk moments and he's a little rough around the edges, but he's actually a good guy at heart. He's demanding, dominant, possessive, and protective. Lucas might not do everything by the book, but you can't deny how much he loves Yve. He'll make you melt when you see how different he is with Yve and especially with how he feels about her. He is an awesome hero and I looooved him!

Beneath These Scars has beauty, danger, a little heartache, a touch of mystery, and a whole lot of passion in it. There was a ton feistiness, challenging, and action going on, but there were sweet, fun times too. It was a wonderful book and I can't wait to read the other books in the series or to see what comes next, although I think Beneath These Scars will always be one of my favorites!

Beneath These Scars is a standalone, it's told from Lucas and Yve's POV, and they do get their HEA.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was so happy to get this book. I loved the other 3 book in this series and I wanted Lucas book sooo bad. That being said I kept reading and then stopping. I'm not sure why? I just wasn't "feeling" it. There was not a reason, it wasn't the book it was all me.(The whole it's not you, it's me)

I gave the other 3 books all 4 stars this was just as good so it's a 4 star rating but I wasn't invested in the story as I was with the others. Which is weird because I was so interested In Lucas in the other books.

So basically if you have read the other books you know Lucas fucking Titan,. He's a alpha, a$$hole, super sexy, billionaire . He not many people favorite person( the guy you love to hate). Including Yve Santos. She is a strong woman and need no man to help or save her. She been though hell and was determined to make a good life for herself by herself she didn't need a man help. She was nobody Mistress/whore. I like how Yve straight told him if you want me it's on my time. I call the shots and say when. The sexual chemistry with these two was off the charts. This is their story with Lucas trying to concur the world and Yve trying to save her store (Dirty Dog) and dealing with her crazy ex.

These two was just right for each other. Both strong Personalty. No other woman could have "handled" Lucas like Yve did. Overall I like the book. So I'm gonna go 3.5 star. (I just been kinda hard to please on the book front lately)

Some Quotes I liked:

*She didn't have to like me to fuck me; she just had to want me more than she hated me

*No one makes it through life without scars. It's impossible. But they're not signs of shame; they're badges of honor showing that you fought and survived

*This woman pushed all my buttons, taunted me, challenged me, mocked me. And the perverse son of a bitch that I was, I wanted more

*You can’t bait someone who doesn’t give a fuck what you think about them

Lucas is one of the newest movers and shakers in New Orleans. He’s got the money but not the pedigree for High Society. He believes that if he can get into the New Orleans high society (which doesn’t like his new money). His plans have been to date and eventually marry a woman from the upper crust that would open all the doors that his money alone could not buy. As he continues to pursue his goals he comes face to face with Yve Santos and he wasn’t planning on her.

Yves is not interested in someone like Lucas Titian…been there done that. She wants her business and the simple relationships she has had. She has been through a lot and is content with what she has. Her goal is to take control of the store she is currently managing. It’s not easy for to ask for help but reluctantly agrees to it from Lucas. She was only wanting his help, she was planning on anything else. But LOVE always finds a way.

Lucas Freaking Titan…that truly sums up his name. Since I started reading the series I have been waiting patiently (not really) for Lucas’s book. He has always been a commanding presence in previous stories so I knew his book was going to be awesome! And it was! The best so far of the series.

Yes Lucas is an arrogant jerk. He is ruthless and will destroy anyone that gets in his way. BUT…this book finally shows you the other side of Lucas. Behind the tightly controlled persona there is a vulnerable man underneath. While he thinks he knows what he wants in a wife he comes to realize that Yve is the only woman he can see in that role. She is everything he never knew he wanted.

Yve herself is the perfect match for Lucas as she is as strong as him and won’t take any of his BS. She won’t let him get away with anything. She has been hurt in the past and is content with the store and her friends. Lucas comes barging into her life and shows her that all guys are not like her ex. In him, she finds the one man she can believe in and he finds the woman he can truly love.

Meghan March has LONG been on my Auto-Buy list, even since her first release blew me away. Now we arrive at the fourth of the series and her writing is just as wonderful as it's ever been.

Enter Yve Santos and Lucas Titan. Yve Santos is a hardworking businesswoman who has been trying to prove herself for her entire life. She's determined to be more than her family ever was and she's happy with where life has taken her. And then we have Lucas Titan. He is an a$$hole in every sense of the word. Based on his role in previous books, it's easy to assume that the reader will already despise him. Of course, we know there is more to him that meets the eye....

The chemistry between Yve and Lucas is flawless. I believed every single moment of it. They flew together like magnets, and no matter how hard they tried to get away from each other (or rather, how hard Yve tried to get away from Lucas), the universe just kept throwing them back together.

Of course, the "mystery" or suspenseful bit of the book is superb, as well. I can honestly say that I did NOT see that one coming. I've read a few books in my day, which means I rarely get surprised, but the author got me on this one!

I loved seeing all our favorite characters from previous books once more. While none of them really play "prominent" roles, they all show up several times, and usually in the best of ways. New characters, like Jerome, definitely add to the party. Jerome is fabulous and he's a real treat to read about. March's character-building is always spot-on.

Finally, it's work noting that I adored the epilogue. I wrapped up the story line with the Cinderella Dress, it was perfectly Lucas-and-Yve, and it showed a beautiful happy ending.

I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in March's series (And I've got a feeling I know who it might be... there were at least two set ups for future books!).

First time I’ve read this author. This novel can be read as a standalone, although there are interconnecting characters from the previous novels.

We get the idea that Lucas Titan is a semi bad guy – someone who might have fought dirty in the past to try and get what he wants. He doesn’t seem to be very popular.

Yve Santos has had a rough past. She doesn’t like asking for help and is determined to make her own way in life and break the mould of the women in the family.

When Yve’s past starts to catch up with her, she accepts a friend’s offer of safety for the night. However, a late night swim and startling realisation puts her directly in the path of Lucas, and they come together in a heady mix of hate and lust.

Lucas is fiercely attracted to Yve and can’t seem to get her out his head. He’s pushy, brash and upfront about what he wants from her. She tries to deny her desire and keeps running away from him.

As the days pass and scary events start to threaten Yve’s life, Lucas proves that he’ll do anything to keep her safe, and both start to realise that their fling could turn into something much more.

I really enjoyed this novel. Lucas and Yve had great chemistry. Both were strong, strident characters, so it was a constant war of wills. It was good to see Lucas’ image slowly shedding to show a more vulnerable guy beneath the façade, and both of them realising that their pasts and their scars don’t define who they are, or their future.

Would definitely recommend this novel!

March writes another really hot romance in her Beneath series. I loved finding out about Lucas Titan's hidden layers. Yve is definitely strong enough to stand up to him. A good unexpected twist in this story.

I liked it a lot!

Perhaps what I like most about the two Meghan March books I've read (this one and Beneath These Chains) is how fast-paced they are. As a reader, I was kept on my toes in both cases, and no part of the story felt as if it were dragging.

Lucas Titan is tough character to love, but he did win me over. He kind of reminded me of Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice) in a way: he doesn't always come off as the best guy (because he can be gruff, abrasive, and arrogant), but the people who know him best hold him in the highest regard.

I'm a sucker for a strong heroine, and Yve certainly exemplifies that. She's a shrewd businesswoman, and she challenges Lucas at every turn--which is exactly what he needs in a life partner.

Beneath These Scars has a storyline that kept me interested, entertained, and--when all was said and done--made me smile. In addition to the elements already mentioned, I loved the Beauty and the Beast references and Jerome (a secondary character). Readers of romance, this title is definitely one to pick up! (Side note: I think I've developed a girl crush on Meghan March.)

This is my first book of this series by Meghan March, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I would have liked the background of the first 3 books but it isn't necessary to understand Lucas Titan. You can get the jist of his bada$$ self in just the first chapter of the book.

Finally we also have a heroine who isn't cringing at everything and waiting for her alpha to rescue her. Yve has been through hell and back and she isn't relying on anyone but herself now. Along comes Lucas Titan and all that starts changing. Except this isn't his usually MO with women. So everyone is confused!

Lots of action in the novel and I was able to read it in just one sitting. No cliff hanger so that is even better when it is a series.

I'm going to have to catch up with the other novels in the series because I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

New author to me and I can't wait to read more from her. Really enjoyed it!

HOLY FREAKING MOLLY! THIS BOOK WAS INSANELY GOOD . It's past 4 am and I simply couldn't stop reading, I had to finish the book and I can't wait to put my thoughts out there...so yeah it's gonna be tough morning for me. Nonetheless, I'm truly glad to say that I loved this book and it kept me on my toes till the very end, which was majestically sweet btw. This was the first book I read by this author and it definitely won't be my last, I'm going to read every single book in this series and whatever else this awsome author has written.

The story revolves around the lives of Yve and Titan. Yve is an independent and a strong woman who wants to strive in the world with her own merits. But she has a past that she badly wants to forget but it keeps coming back to haunt her. Her encounter with the Titan leaves her wanting for more though she hates his attitude but they can barely resist one another. As they come to know each other and learn about their scars, they truly understand the person underneath the facade. But when Yve's past catches up with her will he be able to save her in time or loose her forever?

The plot had a healthy dose of romance with a pinch of mystery and action thrown into the mix. I loved Yve and Titan together. Though it started as a no-strings-attached and a love-hate kind of relationship, they couldn't help but care as they both got to know each other. He saw right through her, every single time and she found solace in his arms. Their chemistry was undeniable and I just loved their romance. The scene when she finally broke down and he took care of her, that was really, really sweet, it melted my heart. And I loved the trust and respect they had for each other, without blindly believing what others said or commented, they listened to their hearts. The plot twist was really good and it scared the hell outta me, I definitely didn't see it coming and I had to pretty much race through the book to see what happened next!

Which brings me to my next point, the characters. I simply loved all the characters in this book. I loved Yve and her no nonsense attitude. She was stubborn as hell and didn't want pity from anyone, specially after coming from a family like that, she had lots of guts to do something on her merits. Also, she was the one who could actually stand up to Titan and made him listen. Although I don't like alpha males much but I loved Titan. He had a cocky attitude and he didn't care a bit what others thought about him. But after Yve came into his life, his perspectives changed and he wanted to make her his at all costs. I loved the banters between them and there were a few humorous moments which I definitely liked. I liked the side characters as well, specially Jerome, he was really nice and sweet.

And God, this woman can write like hell. The writing style was smooth as silk. Chessy much? :-P But it's true. It was beautifully written and I fell into the comfortable rhythm of this book. The pace was even throughout the book and I completed it in one sitting. It was simple impossible for me to put this book down.

Overall, Beneath These Scars was a pretty awsome and a memorable read. The plot was great with awsome characters. It had the perfect amount of romance with thrill and action. And I loved the chemistry between Yve and Titan, their bond was really beautiful. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book. I breezed through it and loved every minute of it. I'm definitely eager to read more books by this author.

This book can be read as a stand-alone, so that bit is sorted. Now about the story...hot dominant alpha billionaire goes up against a woman who herself is hot, strong willed and a match for Lucas. There is some sexy scenes wrote into this book that added even more passion than these two characters have when they are sparring with each other. There are secrets to be uncovered in this book and past events may come back to haunt the characters all in all it added up to a brilliant book. Really this book is about digging beneath the surface and scars people hide from others, but it is two strong willed characters in this book that connect with a fiery passion. My first book by this author and i will be checking out the other books in this series and by this author.

I learned long ago that I shouldn't get my hopes high with books, because, let's face it, most of the time they let us down. But this one scored high and surprised me in a good way.

It was a really good book.

It could have a few more chapters (or maybe I'm just being greedy), but overall, it was a fun read, with good character development and an amazing alpha-male.

I couldn't understand some of the decisions Yve made, so it was hard to connect with her, and the end was rushed.
Those were the two weak points of the book, for me.

3.5. Never heard of this author before, but the description caught me. I love stories where someone perceived as a villain turns out to be heroic - not necessarily "misunderstood" or silliness like that but more than people thought they were. Then I began to read and right away I wasn't sure I could finish the book. The designer name dropping; the "street" lingo and attitude laid on a with a trowel; the women insisting, repeatedly, that they can take care of themselves. In my experience people who can take care of themselves don't bother telling people they can, they just do it. And, worse, at first she kept saying "no" but meaning yes. Which is just Gods awful. Just as I was about to remove the book from my Kindle Yve turned around and did more than talk -- she took charge and made it stick. Yes, they would have sex. Yes, it would be on her terms. And that saved the book for me. She was strong, she may have wavered a little a first, but life had given her hell and she had used its fires to make herself steel. And her ballbuster of a hero found out he loved it when his woman didn't let him take charge of everything -- he loved that she gave as good as she got. He definitely fell in love with her first. I will happily try other books by Meghan March.

Thanks to Netgalley for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

4.5

I really enjoyed this book. I received this awhile ago via NetGalley. However, I wasn't sure it could be as a standalone so I put off reading it. The others have been on my wish list and after--finally--reading the first two I thought I had enough information about the characters to read this without book 3 (which hopefully I'll get at a later date).

Also, I read book 3 and 4 out of order partly because I was more interested in Lucas than Lord. He played a bigger part in Beneath This Ink and I was intrigued to see how his life would develop. It's safe to say it didn't disappoint. I liked how he won me over. He was an asshole in book two, but slowly throughout this read I got to see his softer side. He may have hidden it beneath arrogance and denied it at times, but around Yve it was obvious.

Similarly, I liked Yve's strength. She was a respectable character with smarts and a good head on her shoulder. I liked how she refused to play the victim and even when she was scared she didn't ask for help. It might have seemed stupid, but I liked watching Lucas have to fight for her.

As for the story it held my attention well. A few things were predictable, but overall it was an engaging read. I didn't fully understand everything Lucas did with his business at the end, but that's my only qualm.

In general it was another great read. I'll definitely be going back to read book 3 and can't wait for more.

Just like the blurb says, I hated Lucas from the previous books in the series. Then I fell in love with him as the hero. FULL REVIEW posted via attached link.

Title: Beneath These Scars (Beneath #4)
Author: Meghan March

Tomes Rating: 5 Stars Tissue Rating: 4 Boxes

Review: Wow, what an emotional journey. Beneath These Scars is the story of Lucan Titan and Yve Santos. Titan is a hard headed billionaire who is not going to take no for an answer. He has money to burn and is even willing to pay a million dollars to fight with Con (from Beneath This Ink). Yve is battling demons from her past marriage and learns he ex husband will be coming out of prison soon. Yve wants nothing more than to work at vintage store she manages (and hopes to own) and move through life taking care of herself. Titan and Yve are set on a collision course of life and learning. My favorite part of the entire book was the use of scars. Scars can be on the inside or on the outside. They can be shallow or cut deep. But in the end, the scars do not prove our weakness, but our strength and survivorship. Beneath These Scars kept me an emotional mess for most of the book. There was an amazing twist at the end that I did not see coming but was a great way to tie all the loose ends of the story together. All in all, Beneath These Scars was another great read by Meghan March and can not wait to see what comes next.
