The mix between Celtic magic and Greek mythology is spot on in the Keepers of the Veil series. Action packed, sexy and intriguing I loved this second installment as much as the first and I’m definitely going to keep up with the rest.
His Witch to Keep is the story between a kick ass ex MI6 agent and Pleiades witch Serenity and the mysteriously dark uber-alpha assassin Alexi.
Serenity is in a bit of a mess and has to have her butt rescued by none other than the hottest asshole on Earth… the same shithead that crept into the shadows in the middle of the night after they had sex over a year ago. This chickie is so not over that, but she can’t not be thankful for Alexi keeping her alive.
They have an undeniable chemistry together, and even though Alexi is set on not going there again (he wants her more than he should) he just can’t help himself. It’s like as if they were meant to be… *nudge**nudge*
Well, this installment is filled with intrigue, someone wants Serenity dead, her sister has been kidnapped, there’s the always present threat of the crazy-anti-witches-sect and oh, right, no one knows for sure what exactly Alexi is, because he most assuredly is not merely human.
We soon find out that Alexi has been protecting Serenity from afar for quite a while now, so nothing is as it seems.
As I didn’t re-read the first book before jumping into this one, it took me a little bit to remember everything that was going on, but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment and I was soon immersed in this world, though if you have the time or if you haven’t read Protecting his Witch I’d recommend reading that one first and following directly with this one.
I’m so looking forward to the next destined pair, I’m thinking in the mean time I’ll go look into the other books by Ms. Forward.
