Description
You may be wondering why I wrote this book. Truth be told, I am no different than you – I face good and bad days, successes and failures. If nothing else, my 50 years on this earth have taught me the value of kindness. This book chronicles my experience spreading kindness, love and a dose of magic along life’s many roads, on a modest budget. It is my heartfelt belief that these vignettes can inspire everyday selflessness and a contagion of small acts of kindness
Suzie Abels is a beacon of love and giving for her family, friends and community. She lives life to its fullest, opens her heart to strangers and loved ones alike and has left a lasting footprint of inspiration on her path to spread kindness. Residing in Orange County, Suzie is the devoted mother of Zach, Haley and Riley and the proud wife of Peter.

A lady writes about all the encounters she has in a regular day and how easy it is to make even a stranger’s life a little brighter, if only momentarily.
It’s hard for me to say anything negative here, as I really believe in the message of this book and some of the ideas she puts forth. Still, I would be remiss if I did not mention she’s at least middle class if not upper middle-class; even though she rents her home, it has a pool and hot tub. Not everything done here is within the reach of a lot of people, and I don’t particularly mean monetarily. In addition, since she doesn’t have a regular job—yet manages to fly all over the place—she has a lot of time to do crafty things at home and run errands; people who have to deal with rush hour and then go to the market might be too tired and frazzled to pay attention to the niceties as she suggests.
Despite that caveat, there’s plenty here to like and emulate.
Even if Suzie Abels' motive in writing Kindness on a Budget is noble and altruistic, her book hasn't attained the quality needed to reach a wide cross-section of readers who don't know her personally. She is apparently a kind woman and wants to spread kindness in the world by chronicling many anecdotes from her daily life -- tales that demonstrate her own acts of kindness. However, Suzie's acts of kindness, by themselves, do not make the book a very interesting read or an inspired piece of literature. Sorry Suzie.
Fantastic tips! I love the layout of the books - full of actionable ways to be kind. Kindness can cost little or nothing, but the impact goes a long way. For those who are wondering how to get started on those random acts of kindness, this is a great book! Thank you Suzie!
