This was a really eye opening insightful book filled with tips and research based facts. Terri Orbuch shares the 5 Simple Steps to improve marriages, starting with Expect Less, Get More. There are statistics that she provides on what happy marriages do, and expect from one another. In Step 2 Orbuch shares how to give incentives and rewards, learning your partner's love language and recognizing what works and what doesn't. In Step3 , she discusses how to have daily briefings. 10 minutes is all that is needed to have a deep and meaningful conversation. Most conversations stop at how was your day? Orbuch shares how to expand and ask more in depth questions, such as what was the most exciting part of your day? Reframing a lot of how couples have minimal conversations daily can enhance the relationship. Step 4 implementing change, by getting out of the ruts with plenty of ideas of what to do. Lastly step 5 present how to keep costs low in order to reap benefits.
I really enjoyed the read and appreciate the information provided.
