Description
Media Mogul, Cormac Sheenan, had no desire to become a family man, but when his two year old goddaughter, Daisy, is orphaned, he adopts her, moving her from Montana to his home in Southern California, and becomes a devoted single father, juggling parenting duties with running his successful publishing, TV, and radio enterprise.
But two years later a frightening incident at Daisy’s school, shakes Cormac, and he decides to move Daisy–and his business–back to Montana where life is simpler and he has family nearby.
Now four, precocious Daisy strikes up an unlikely friendship with Marietta’s seasonal Santa Claus, and believes he’s the real thing, even though Cormac points out to her that this jolly old Kris Kringle is renting a room at Bramble House, not living at the North Pole. Daisy’s not worried but Cormac is as Rent-a-Santa has promised his innocent daughter she’ll have a mommy for Christmas.
Cormac is livid with Kris. He’s not at all ready to settle down, and he’s definitely not getting back together with his old flame Whitney Alder, so Santa can stop playing match maker as it’d take a miracle to make him fall in love, never mind marriage material.
But that’s exactly the kind of miracle our angelic Santa Claus has planned…

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
Every little girl's night in shining armor. Ever big girl's fantasy come true. If there is one book that can not be missed A Christmas Miracle for Daisy by Jane Porter is it. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. Daisy and Cormac were an inspiration. Very quickly they developed an attachment and it was so beautiful to watch this big, strong man become putty in this little girl's hands. I received this story on Monday morning and had finished it that night. Despite a couple of false starts, some hard to deliver promises and a crazy Santa, Cormac and Daisy found Christmas Miracle in Whitney. Jane Porter delivered a story that has all the makings of holiday movie, but can be enjoyed all year round.
I really enjoyed this book but the whole time I kept feeling the books title was so wrong. It should have been " A Home for Daisy" because that really was what the book was about. The book stars Comrac Sheenan, a little seen Sheenan brother who happens to live in LA with his ward, Daisy. Frankly I hated him. I truly thought he was the biggest jerk on the planet and I would have hated him and not loved him like Whitney did. I felt that she gave in much too easy to what he did to her.
Whitney, our heroine I loved. She is giving and sweet and really gpod at her job. For 8 years she has worked for Cormac. 5 Years before she had a relationship with him and she fell in love with him until he just cut her off and ended things. Somehow his friend and Daisy's BFF ended up together (that was never explained). Then 2 years before when they were renewing their vows the couple died and left their child, Daisy to Cormac with not a single word about Whitney. Whitney who was their when Daisy was born, who attended Lamaze, with knew her BFF since she was 5 years old. She even used money she didn't have to try and get some legal right to see/share Daisy and she got nothing. As you can see I hated Cormac. He did this to her and to Daisy and I never could forgive that.
One day Cormac gets scared of bad LA and decides to move him and Daisy to Murietta and he wants Whitney and the company to come along. He also decides he wants to give Whitney time with Daisy. Still no legal rights. UGH I really hated him. The author did a really great job showing him as a jerk and in a gazillion years I cannot understand why Whitney fell back with him.
Daisy is a cute 4 year old and I loved Santa and the whole city of Murietta but I still hated Cormac at the end of the book. There is a great scene where he find says I love you to Whitney. But for me it just did not change my hate of him.
I did enjoy this story but I still hated Cormac. He really was this major jerk for the whole book and he never got redeemed.
So much potential, but I just didn't love it. First, I have to agree with others that the book title is wrong. Also, I wanted to hear more dialogue from/with Daisy. She was talked about a lot throughout the story, but I felt like she never really had her own voice in the story. And four year olds have a voice! And the ending was a bit of a let down. I wanted Whitney to at least get a bit of a confessional from Cormac. For Cormac to admit that he had loved Whitney, but had been scared and scarred by his parents' dysfunctional marriage. He was suppose to be the sweet sensitive boy that grew into a cold-hearted man, but underneath was still sweet and sensitive. I just didn't get this in the end. (Sigh) I wanted to love this book since it had a good backstory and I have been hearing about Cormac for two years, but I was strangely disappointed. There was a great story here, but I think making it a short novella format required that so much of it be cut away or not fully developed.
4 Heartwarming stars
I really enjoyed this book. It had the perfect amount of romance and tension for a short story.
A lovely holiday read.
Thank you Tule Publishing via NetGalley for the advance copy.
If you read only one Christmas book this year, let this be the one.
After a tragedy occurs at Daisy’s school, media mogul and single dad Cormac Sheenan's decides it's time to leave California and move back home to the safe small town of Marietta, Montana. He is also relocating his company’s corporate offices to Marietta.
Whitney Alder, Creative Directer of Sheenan Media, once loved Cormac, but he broke her heart and she prefers to keep her distance from him. She doesn't want to move back to Montana where she was raised. There are too many painful memories there. With some persuasion, Whitney agrees to go to Marietta, but only temporarily, to help prepare the office for the employees and spend some time with Daisy, her god-daughter.
Working with Cormac gets to be difficult for Whitney when she feels the attraction growing between them again. She loves Daisy and enjoys the time she gets to spend with her, but is it worth it when she has to see Cormac every day?
Christmas is a time for happiness and miracles often happen. Will there be a miracle in Marietta for Whitney, Cormac and Daisy?
This heartwarming tale had me hooked from the very beginning. Daisy was the perfect little girl and Cormac a wonderful father who will do anything to keep her safe and happy. Whitney’s struggles with her feelings for Cormac felt very real. I could easily picture the town of Marietta in my mind as I read the book. I also loved Kris Crinkles. He was the perfect addition to the story. All around this is a sweet story not to be missed.
Another sweet story set in the town of Marietta, Montana. I must have come across about 10 stories from there now, and haven't found a bad one yet, and this is no exception. A sweet story of Christmas, and a modern take on Miracle on 34th Street, that will warm your heart. Definitely a high recommendation here, and just in time for the start of the Christmas season.
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is a standalone holiday novella about a single father, an adorable four year old daughter and the woman who he has hurt countless of times but can never totally go. So this was quite an emotional read for such a short book, Although part of a series about brothers living in the town of Marietta, Montana, the flow of the main story line was fine. It centers around Cormac and his adopted daughter Daisy and her godmother Whitney. Cormac and Whitney had a romantic past until he ended it, a bitter custody dispute for Daisy which she lost despite the fact she had closer ties with her and he still happens to be her boss despite everything. Circumstances have forced them to work together again and this brings back old emotions and for Whitney old hurts as well. This book describes wonderfully what Whitney is going through, her love for Cormac and Daisy and her distrust that Cormac is putting on the charm but can't be trusted. Cormac is the confusing one here, although pushing Whitney away was expected because of his parents' own disastrous marriage, his feelings for Whitney seems a bit confusing as well. With one passage stating he was ready to propose to her and another passage where he thinks he wasn't really as much in love with her as she to him. Despite this the whole story line was just great and adorable and the way Whitney and Cormac fall in love again by being friends first was great. There was a lot of unexplained things that might confuse readers (like why Cormac was given guardianship of Daisy when Whitney was Daisy's mom's BFF) . I guess reading the other books in the series could shed some light into that better. Still an excellent holiday themed romance.
Christmas Miracle For Daisy by Jane Porter This Sheehan family book is about Cormac, Mac to his friends.
He is a single dad to a beautiful girl Daisy. He's just gotten a call, school lockdown, shooter on site.
His worse nightmare-he can't get to her....he's decided to just up and leave CA and head for Montana. He'd move his company and family to a safe place.
Story also follows Whitney who's part of the Sheehan media company. She's learned about her sick leave return that the boss had soemthing to inform all of them.
She's been through many company takeovers and it's always Sheehan media company who is doing the buying-bringing in their own people, putting her out of a job.
She does date Mac for several years but broke up when her BFF and husband died leaving just Mac to take care of their daughter, Daisy. What I like about this book is that she is able to keep in touch with Daisy with the girlygirl gifts she's been sending over the years, not letting the fact that she didn't get custody/guardianship take control of Daisy Love the fact he's willing to move heaven and earth to make her safe-with family and relatives around.
Love how they participate in small town traditions to bring everybody together to share in the holiday joy.
With Kris Krinkle in town maybe a little magic, hope and faith, will find it's way to unite them all together, once again during the Christmas season....
When the book starts out it is with a school tragedy and it's great the author can turn the story around so you don't even think about the tragedy by the end.
Feel good story that you will treasure with all the turmoil these days in the world.
I have read several books taking place in Marietta and have loved each one. This is no exception. Read this and the others as well
I love the emotions Jane Porter's books pull out of her readers. Gah! The feels... I can't even. I haven't cried while reading in a hot minute, but this book totally made me cry! In the best possible way of course :) Thanks for the book hangover, Jane!
The Sheenans are my favorite fellas and I ADORED Cormac. He seems like such a hardass but sweet little Daisy has softened him. He's always kept women at bay in terms of serious relationships but he's never forgotten Whitney.
Whitney has tried to move on with her life even though she's a major player at Sheenan Media. They have been able to work together, since they haven't had to see each other. However, once circumstances force them together, their past isn't entirely forgotten.
Their story is delicious, sweet, endearing, and oh-so-good! I couldn't read it fast enough. I loved watching the shift in Cormac and seeing he and Whitney fall in love all over again. The little things he would do or say BE STILL MY BEATING HEART. And this book is about the best time of year, Christmas! There's something magical about the town of Marietta and the spirit of Christmas. A fun time of year and this book allows for the kid in you to come out and play. I can't say enough good things about this story; go 1-click your copy!
If you love to read a superb, heart warming festive romance, stop reading this review and get yourself a copy of this book to read instead!
This is the fifth story involving the Sheenan family from Marietta, Montana and a brilliant story. The Daisy in the title is now four years old and has already lost both her parents in a tragic car accident when she was just two years old. Her parents had made their friend and her godfather, Cormac Sheenan, her guardian – much to the dismay of her godmother, his ex-girlfriend, Whitney. Whitney contested the guardianship in court but lost and has seen nothing of him or Daisy in the intervening time. Now she’s moving with his company to Marietta though only till her resignation notice runs out but hopes to see Daisy again whilst they are all there.
Cormac Sheenan is a media mogul who has has adopted Daisy and truly loves her. When a gunman causes a lockdown at Daisy’s kindergarten, Cormac has had enough of city life and plans to move the headquarters of his business to his hometown of Marietta in Montana. On their flight to Marietta the man sat across from them has a long curly white beard, a jovial demeanour and Daisy immediately recognises he is Santa! She goes to ask him for something special for Christmas but won’t tell Cormac just what she wants . . .
This is a moving festive story as the little girl’s godparents reconnect, past events are revisited and love is given a second chance. Just don’t expect anything to go smoothly for these characters – it is only with the intervention of Santa that they’ll ever stand a chance to achieve their HEA!
A lovely addition to the stories set in Marietta, Montana, with events, people and places mentioned in other stories also having roles to play in this one. It is an enthralling, entertaining and well written, fantastic festive read that I loved and have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who is looking to read a very moving second chance festive romance.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is the 5th book in the Taming of the Sheenans series by romance author Jane Porter. I loved last year's Sheenan Christmas story, The Kidnapped Christmas Bride, and I love this latest tale as well.
I have been devouring the Christmas stories set in Marietta, Montana this year. So far this is the third where one of the main characters is staying at the Bramble House Inn. Tule Publishing has done a great job of interweaving these stories.
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is a heartwarming and romantic Christmas story. It is a fast, well-written read that I thoroughly enjoyed. A well balanced tale sure to bring tears throughout and at the end. Four year old Daisy is not the only one who gets a Christmas miracle. Whitney and Cormac's story will delight you.
Highly recommend. Looking forward to Jane Porter's next Sheenan novel already.
A modern day Miracle on 34th Street that takes place in my favorite town of Marietta Montana. Single dad, Cormac of adopted daughter, Daisy has moved back home to Marietta. Cormac is relocating his media business to Marietta. His employee, Whitney is here temporarily to help with the relocation. Whitney and Cormac have a past history, plus she is Daisy's godmother. Daisy asks santa, Kris Kringle, for one wish. Kris or Daisy will not share that wish anyone. Will Daisy get her miracle for Christmas.
I loved this story, I could not put it down. It was great to celebrate the Christmas season with the rest the Sheenans and the residents of Marietta. A must read this holiday season. I received this book from netgalley for an honest review.
A retelling of “Miracle on 34th Street,” Montana style, “A Christmas Miracle for Daisy” will tug at your heartstrings like the classic movie. No, there is no Macy’s, but there is a Thanksgiving Parade, a Santa, a Grinch parent and of course, a little girl whose name happened to be Daisy who has a Christmas wish which she shared only with Santa and no one else.
Book 5 of the “Taming of the Sheenans” series, “A Christmas Miracle for Daisy” is the story of Brock Sheenan, the second to the youngest sibling of the Sheenan brothers. A single dad, his first priority is four-year-old Daisy. So, though Brock left Marietta, Montana when he went to college in California, he had stayed away from his hometown and had no plans to comeback. That is, until Daisy came along and her needs came first.
But, when you run a media empire, moving is a major headache. And the only person he can trust to make it happen is his ex-girlfriend Whitney Alder. To say that Brock has a complicated relationship with Whitney is an understatement. Add the fact that Whitney has sued Brock for joint custody of Daisy makes the situation very awkward.
And just to make things more convoluted, Brock still has feelings for Whitney. Add Thanksgiving, the snow, mergers & acquisitions and Brock’s family in the mix, Brock has the perfect recipe for disaster.
A nice and easy read, “A Christmas Miracle for Daisy” is a must-read for Christmas and romance junkies during this holiday season.
“A Christmas Miracle for Daisy” is Rated T for teens. There are no sex scenes in this book.
I never pass up an opportunity to read a book by Jane Porter. Her stories are replete with emotion, three-dimensional characters and an engaging plot. A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is the fifth book in Ms. Porter's Taming of the Sheenans series, and it can be totally enjoyed as a standalone. This is a magical and endearing holiday romance that should not be missed.
Creative Director Whitney Alder is smart, beautiful and kind. Her employees adore her for her fairness and talent within the media industry. A few years ago, Whitney had a loving, year-long romantic relationship Comac Sheenan, the founder and CEO of Sheenan Media. At the time, Comac was building his media conglomerate into the empire that it is today. Indirectly, Whitney worked for Comac, but because they kept both their personal and business lives completely separate, Whitney was able to continue working for Sheehan Media when Comac abruptly broke things off. Soon after their relationship ended, Whitney lost her best friend April in a tragic accident. April was married to Daryl, who died in the accident as well. Comac was Daryl's best friend and the godfather to their daughter Daisy. Even though Whitney was Daisy's godmother, and very active in her life thus far, April and Daryl's will named Comac legal guardian. Whitney spent most of her savings fighting for shared custody of Daisy, but in the end, Comac won the legal battle. Needless to say, their relationship at this point is almost nonexistent, even though they both still have feelings for one another.
Now Daisy is four and Comac is a devoted Dad. Comac is also relocating his corporation to his hometown of Marietta, Montana. He wants to ensure that Daisy lives in relative safety and grows up surrounded by family. Comac himself needs to slowdown, and make a permanent break from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Since Whitney knows Comac's likes and dislikes so well, both personally and professionally, she agrees to help him with the relocation through the holiday season. After that, she will be done with him and his company. Naturally, that does not happen. Daisy, the holiday season and Santa Clause slowly bring them together forever.
I loved this sweet and clean story. Ms. Porter's writing style continues to be effortless and easy to understand. Her graceful and elegant descriptions of the holiday activities and landscapes in Marietta, make you want to be there. The characters are well-defined and Daisy adds a cuteness factor that is quite charming. I felt the connection between Whitney and Comac immediately, and was truly captivated with how Ms. Porter evolved their relationship over the years. If you are in the mood for a slightly emotional, second chance romance, check out this magical holiday read.

Daisy has one wish for Christmas. One that she believes with all her heart that Kris Crinkles can help with. After all, he is Santa Claus.
Whitney and Cormac have a history. A huge history. She had loved him, truly expected to marry him… once upon a time. When her goddaughter’s parents were killed in a car accident that injured Whitney as well the last thing she expected was to not have Daisy in her life again. April had been her best friend for almost forever and Whitney knew that April had wanted her to be co-guardian of Daisy along with her godfather, Cormac. But somehow that information hadn’t made it into the will which named Cormac as sole guardian – a single man with a multi-million dollar business to run. Whitney had tried to legally get partial custody of Daisy, but that attempt only widened the chasm between her and Cormac. Whitney still works for Cormac at his headquarters in Denver. Part of the deal to continue working there was that she never, ever had contact with him -it was the only way Whitney could keep the job she loved and was very good at and not tear the man’s eyes out should they ever meet.
Now, two years later, Whitney’s, Cormac’s and Daisy’s worlds were about to be turned upside down — and the magic that is Marietta, Montana might get a smidge of help from a red suited guy with a twinkle in his eye.
After a lockdown at Daisy’s school with one student shot and a teacher stepping in to take down the gunman – Cormac Sheenan decided it was time to go home. Home to Marietta where he had family, where his daughter could be safe from the dangers of the big city… and where memories good and bad had driven him away years ago.
Cormac’s decision to return to Marietta was not just a personal choice – he was moving his entire headquarters operation to this small Montana town. That included Whitney as well. And she could never return to Marietta to live, too many memories. In order to qualify for the severance package Cormac offered to those upper management employees who could not make the move, they had to work through the transition for sixty days. Since Whitney’s job would be to get the new building set up and ready for the rest of the teams to be ready to work the beginning of the year – that meant sixty days in Marietta with Cormac and Daisy — and trying hard not to lose her head or her heart once again.
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is such a magical, heart warming story. Returning to Marietta, Montana is always a personal joy for me – add in Christmas and catching up with the hot-headed, loyal and tight knit Sheenan family once again, and I’ve got a slice of heaven on my e-reader.
Cormac’s personal history had him giving up on happiness with Whitney years ago. A decision that an older, a bit wiser man now regretted for the most part. Back then he hadn’t been ready for the forever kind of relationship.. he didn’t believe in it and didn’t trust it. Now as a father who is seeing his adopted daughter glow under the influence of one special woman he’s beginning to question if he got it wrong back then – and how he could fix it now.
Truth is he could fix it – but being a typical Sheenan, he messed it up in his attempt to make it all right again. But he’d learn, when the happiness of three people was on the line, he could learn real fast.
Whitney had never stopped loving Cormac. Oh, she told herself that he was nothing to her, that he had taken away the one person in the world that she’d wanted with her forever. But some loves never die. They might need stirred up a bit, with some convincing, some positive actions and maybe a touch of Christmas magic. But her love still lives, waiting for Cormac to get it through his thick skull that he’s in love too.
If you’re looking for that special, warm feeling, want to be inside the story kind of Christmas Romance – then you need to pick up A Christmas Miracle for Daisy.. right now. A little girl who will steal your heart, a man and woman who belong together and that special Marietta Magic Christmas Dust that Kris has in huge piles – this is what Christmas Romance is all about. Hope, Faith and Love.
*I received an e-ARC of A Christmas Miracle for Daisy from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
As a child, I loved A Miracle on 34th Street--both the original movie and book. This story pays homage to that story and is such a wonderful romance in addition to the beginning of a family by way of some Christmas magic from Santa himself! It was such a joy to read this story--I highly recommend it!
Jane Porter has a gift of writing that takes you away into the story .A Christmas Miracle for Daisy for a wonderful story . I love the history oh Marietta , and how the other characters from other books are inter twined . Kris Crinkles character was a great addition , making it more magical . The. Characters Whitney and Cormac had a connection that still continued and chemistry that sizzled. This is a much recommended book
I couldn't wait to read A Christmas Miracle for Daisy by Jane Porter. I've enjoyed each Sheehan story and been not so patiently waiting for Cormac's turn. Porter takes us back to Marietta, Montana at Christmas time with her latest. Cormac becomes a single father when he gains custody of his goddaughter, Daisy. With a shared history and heartbreak she hasn't forgotten, Whitney works for Cormac but keeps her distance. With Whitney wanting to spend as much time as possible with her goddaughter, that just isn't going to happen.
I love picking up a Jane Porter romance. I know that for duration of the read I'll have fallen completely into the story. A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is filled with all the things needed for a heartwarming holiday romance.
A Christmas Miracle For Daisy A Taming of the Sheenans Story Jane Porter
This is a story about two complicate people, who have one thing in common....their love of four year old Daisy.
Cormac Sheenan is a corporate wizard living in L.A with his daughter Daisy. She is enrolled in the "right" school. Quiet, small and out of the city. That is until Cormac gets the message that the school has a shooter and is in lockdown. In traffic he is too far away, and his heart is about to pound out of his chest. When he reaches the school and has Daisy safely in his arms, he vows to change his life and hers. They will be moving back to Marietta, Montana.....family, love and peace are what he is looking for. Going back to Montana, moving his corporate offices, opens doors he thought he had closed, and makes him wonder why he did.
Whitney Alder is in charge of a design team for Sheehan Media. She works in Denver, and despite the excellent incentive to move to Montana, she gives her two weeks notice. She has a history with Cormac; she fell in love, sure he was in love with her, and then coldly and business like set her aside. But more importantly, he took something that was most precious to her, Daisy. Whitney was Daisy's god mother, when her best friend April and her husband passed away, she expected to get custody.......but Cormac had been named her guardian. Despite intensive legal action, he won the case. She has not seen or heard about Daisy in two years. "She couldn't forgive him, and she couldn't forget, and she couldn't do this anymore."
But Cormac has realized how much Daisy needs her God-Momma, and gives Whitney something she can't refuse. If she goes to Montana through the holidays, oversees the new construction and opening, she will be able to see and spend time with Daisy.
Cormac seems cold, hard and cruel. After the incident at the school he realizes Daisy needs more and so does he. Having Whitney near, proves to him what a fool he had been. His fear of commitment tore something very precious apart. Christmas in Marietta sounds like a small town beautiful dream. Snow, Santa and friends make Daisy's life thrilling.......especially having Whitney close by. Forgiveness and love make this an unforgettable holiday story. I highly recommend it.
I received this ARC from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

A wonderful Christmas novella that reunites Cormac and Whitney because Daisy enlists Santa to help grant her Christmas wish. Set in small town Montana this is a great addition to the Sheenans family series.
Marietta Powered Christmas Stars * * *
I happen to love these Marietta Montana books by all the authors involved. They are the type of escape which are usually heartwarming and have a sneaky life lesson attached. They make small town living in the great state of Montana something special.
With this entry, though, it wasn't any part of Marietta which was the down side...the down side was the mountain of redemption our fella needed to do in order for us to root for him and his HEA. Our main gal also had some conflicting feelings which caused me to wonder how all of this was supposed to come together.
This was loosely based on the idea of the Miracle of 34th Street. In the original movie, we had a single mom who worked at Macy's in New York and her daughter wanted to believe in Santa but the Mom was more cynical due to her life. She is alone romantically and during the movie she meets her HEA, deals with whether there is a real Santa and has her daughter believe in the end. All comes together with all of the sweetness and humor of the times in 1947. There have been remakes and updates over the years... but the 1947 movie is the standard and classic.
In this twist, it is one of the Sheenan Brothers from Marietta, Cormac, who is the cynic and non believer. He was the brother of the family who had to grow up and become strong fast...for at one time his soft heart loved his mom in a very deep special way. Through his eyes, he saw the sadness and pain his mom carried with her... her wishing things were different with his father... wishing he loved her like she deserved...So young Cormac would go to her... bringing her affection and love...with her giving it right back. It caused him to be teased by his older brothers and made him see the only way to be was strong, focused, watchful and strategic.
He took those traits and became a Media Mogul acquiring all types of communication companies, then stripping them apart and letting vital talented people go. This pattern allowed his businesses to grow and expand.
It also caused him to cross paths with Whitney Alder. First she was with her best friend April from Kindergarten in a bar celebrating. From a distance, Cormac lays eyes on her... and that was all they wrote...as the saying goes....He was taken by her spark and beauty. She gave off smarts in all that she said and he was going to figure out how to become "close" friends. They do go out to dinner but it's complicated from the start; Cormac just bought the magazine were she works and she felt she shouldn't date the boss. Somehow these two become an item, though they kept it professional during working hours.
Time goes by and she is smitten with him. He is too and this is not the usual way for Cormac. He does not do relationships. They were having the one year anniversary and a few weeks later, Cormac tells Whitney that it was nice but it has run its course....
Classy....
Fast forward and we learn that over the years, Whitney has left Cormac's companies only to have the companies she moved to be bought by Cormac later. She is currently working at one of his companies but only because she is in Denver and he is in Los Angeles. She has no desire to work with him, let alone be in the same room with him.
All of this is about to change. Cormac has been raising Daisy as a single parent since she was about two. Her parents, one who happened to be Whitney's April died in a car crash. Cormac was named in the will as the sole guardian, something which Whitney couldn't understand. April had talked repeatedly that if anything should ever happen, she would want Whit to take care of Daisy...she was her Goddaughter and held April's hand all through pregnancy and birth.
What took place to drive a bigger wedge between Cormac and Whitney was the legal battles they both fought regarding Daisy's custody. Whit fought with all her might in the courts but Cormac won.
Cormac experiences a major event with Daisy in Los Angeles which changes his perspective on everything. He decides he wants to raise Daisy in Marietta and proclaims his company's headquarters are moving to Marietta. He will pay for those executives and employees to move with him... but the company is going and will reopen in January.
Whitney has moved up the corporate ladder and is highly regarded by her team, boss and even Cormac. This move, though, is not for her. There are too many memories ... hurtful ones and also painful romantic ones for her to deal with back in Marietta. She hands in her notice to HR and it going to look for a new position somewhere. She loved this one but she just cannot handle being around Cormac...too many painful memories...the cold way he broke up with her, the fighting her for full custody of Daisy and his cold, cold heart.
When confronted by Cormac about not going to Marietta, he reminds her the severance packet which would set her up with important funding for the transition time, is contingent of her going to Marietta and working with the construction of the new headquarters. After some back and forth, she gives in and goes to Marietta... she wants to spend time with Daisy, now 4, and this is the only way.
As the tale goes on, there is a "Khris Cringles" who will be the town's Santa this year. Daisy has taken to him and Cormac is not pleased about it. Everyone adores him and he seems to have answers for every important question asked.
Over the course of the building, Whitney and Cormac become sort of friends... and then there is this internal conversation both have worrying about all these feelings they are having for each other.
This book has charm with all of the Christmas doings in Marietta. Readers who have read past books of this series will recognize characters, places and connections.
I felt a little like Scrooge writing this review; I got what the author was going for...it just was layered with too much bad blood between both leads for me to buy in. Cormac's past behavior with this woman was just cruel; I understand people make mistakes and need forgiveness, etc. But for me....I didn't get Whitney at all.
Daisy was adorable, Santa the best and Marietta still held on to its charm.

Let me start off by saying that this isn't a bad book. The plot, while drama-filled, is followable, the characters, while annoying in their drama, are believable and Daisy and Santa, while sugary-sweet, really are quite cute.
I just think I may be a bit too cynical and bitter for a book of this genre. The drama didn't speak to me. The initial negative didn't seem overly realistic. I actually spent a few moments before going to bed trying to figure out how the accident could have happened to have spared the female MC and it wasn't computing.
Then the male MC being a HUGE JERK re:custody of the little girl, yet being a sympathetic man two years later? Not overly believable. I don't care that he had two years to mellow and un-Grinch with the adorable little girl, I just don't buy it.
And I'm sorry, but if I loved someone, been with them for a year, they dropped me COLD, then I fought them for custody and they WON and NEVER let me see the little girl I loved so much, love dies REAL quick. Having had an experience with the whole, I love you one day then drop you the next, I can tell you that while it does take time, love does die when it's not being fed. In this instance, it was being fed poison. So the love after all that time really wasn't believable to me.
I think I have gone through too many difficult life experiences to be able to read a book like this without having issues with it. This is NOT the book's fault, but mine. It was well written and the small town was very sweet. The descriptions were there, but it wasn't enough to grab me and involve me in the characters.
This was also my first book from the series that I have read, so not knowing a lot of the secondary characters might have hurt my enjoyment of the book. They were explained, no problem there, but I didn't have a tie to them from earlier books.
All in all, a cute "Christmas miracle" story. If you are into the trope of horrible stuff happens and then magical HEA, with Christmas (in this case, Santa was the magic, not God, though God did get a few mentions, He wasn't the star) as the magical factor, a cute little angel of a child wishing for a mommy and love that lives no matter what, then this is the book for you.
Three stars, because I know it's me and not the book re: not liking it fantastically. I wouldn't be against suggesting it in the store to the right person.
When Cormac Sheenan gets a text that his goddaughter’s school is on lockdown due to an active shooter situation and he gets stuck in traffic trying to get to her, he decides that living in Southern California is not the best for Daisy. Being the head of his own company Cormac decides to move the headquarters and all executive offices back to his small hometown of Marietta, Montana.
Whitney Alder is an executive with Cormac’s company in the Denver office but the two also have a stormy history. They had dated for a year before Cormac unexpectedly broke it off without a reason why. But also they had been involved in a heated custody battle for Daisy two years prior. Daisy is the daughter of Whitney’s long time best friend and her husband but the two were killed in a car accident. Whitney and Cormac were both supposed to be the godparents but only Cormac had been named for custody in the will.
Whitney immediately turns down the offer to move to Marietta but Cormac tempts her with an offer to help for six weeks. She would earn an enormous severance package and the ability to be able to spend time with Daisy whom she hasn’t seen in two years. With the holiday magic of small town Marietta at work plus a bit of match making from four year old Daisy and Santa Claus, Whitney and Cormac slowly rekindle their old flame.
Another lovely holiday romance taking place in the enchanted town of Marietta. I just can’t help but love this small town and it’s Christmas charm. Such a lovely festive atmosphere for falling in love you just can’t go wrong with any romance taking place there.
It did take me a bit of time to warm up to Cormac, he was obviously completely devoted to Daisy but as far as romantic was concerned he was definitely a bit lacking. Whitney was a wonderful strong lead that complimented Cormac well though as she was the one person who could stand up to him.
The ending of this one seemed a tad rushed too which sometimes happens with novellas but still a great read I’d recommend picking up during the holiday season.
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I love the Sheenan brother's stories. Jane Porter in an excellent author and she has written a great story here. Cormac Sheenan is a hard business man. The only soft spot he has is for his goddaughter Daisy. Cormac has had custody of Daisy since her parents died. After a lock down incident at Daisy's school, Cormac decides its time to move his corporate headquarters to Marietta, Montana....the small town he is originally from. Whitney is Cormac's ex and she works for his company. They have avoided each other since the breakup and since the day that Cormac gained custody of Daisy. Whitney is Daisy's godmother and she had wanted custody of the little girl. She had been in love with Cormac but when he realized he may feel more for her than he wanted to he broke up with her and broke her heart. She is still in love with him but she isn't willing to put herself in a position to be hurt again. Cormac offers her a deal that she can't refuse so that she will move with the company to Marietta at least until he can get things settled and operating there. When you combine Santa Claus, Daisy's wish and the Christmas spirit together.....it makes for a heartwarming story. I highly recommend this book.
This is a nice little addition to the Christmas fare glutting the market at the moment.
Cormac is the last of the Sheenan brothers and is a hard nut to crack (see what I did there.) Known as The Ice Man, he dumped the heroine Whitney without ceremony after being with her for a year. He then added insult to injury by winning a court case to keep sole custody of their God Daughter, Daisy, after the death of her parents. This basically meant that Whitney was cut out of the two year old's life after being as close as family.
Forced back together when Cormac moves the company to Marietta in Montana after a nasty incident at four year old Daisy's school, they start to get to know each other again. Whitney is still hurting from all of the bad stuff Cormac did to her.
Cormac on the other hand has softened quite a bit, due to being a parent. He's still a bit of a Grinch, distrusting the Santa Claus who has been asked to set up in Marietta for the Christmas Season. Santa plays a role in bringing about Daisy's wish for Christmas.
Overall this was a sweet reunion story with a not too annoying cute kid in the middle. I would have liked to see a little more suffering for Cormac because he really was an absolute B*stard in the past. But I suppose Christmas is the time for goodwill. I also would have liked to know why Whitney ended up not being appointed as guardian to Daisy originally being the best friend of Daisy's mother as this came up several times but was never resolved.
Another cute story from Marietta Montana. I love how all these authors have made their series coincide with each other. I enjoyed this story a lot, it was sweet & funny & sad at times. Cormac & Whitney have a history as well as a present. They were once romantically involved until Cormac got cold feet & broke it off completely. Whitney worked for Cormac's Media Corporation but she worked in Denver not California where Cormac lived. More past between them is the death of Whitney's best friend takes her goddaughter away from her when Cormac is given guardianship. Now 2 years later Cormac is moving his company to Marietta Montana his hometown after a scary experience at Daisy's school & Whitney is forced to head there too to help with the remodel of the building to house the corporation. Being in close confines & trying to spend time with her goddaughter Daisy Whitney finds herself caring for Cormac again & he finds that his feelings for her have moved to the forefront of his attention. Cormac makes a decision & Whitney thinks that the decision has finally told her she's not wanted so she leaves Christmas Eve. With a little help from good old Kris Crinkles(aka Santa Claus) Cormac looks for Whitney. Will he find her in time? Will he make her see that his decision is for the best? Very cute book
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy was a sweet contemporary about family, second chances, and a Christmas wish.
Rating: 3/5
I do not remember a story hooking me in as fast as A Christmas Miracle for Daisy (Taming of the Sheenans, Book 5) by Jane Porter does. The first line had me caught, hook, line and sinker. It is a heartwarming story with a delightful child who takes center stage. Her ruthless-in-business adopted father reveals his soft side when with her. It has cost him and others who were in his life.
The story has a smooth pace with the past revealed slowly as the present unfolds. I had several questions about Cormac, Daisy and Whitney along with how the rip in their relationship had happened while reading the first couple of chapters. However, all come to light in time. This gave a second chance story an air of mystery. I liked that.
Did I like Cormac, well… maybe not the ruthless part so much. All of the Sheenan men are so different but they seem to have determination, lack of tact and confidence in abundance along with their good looks. Also they love with their whole heart which can cover a multitude of sins. So I guess I knew from the beginning that Whitney didn’t stand a chance. Still it is a don’t-call-me-till-I-have-finished-this-book kind of read. You just don’t want to put it down until you see how the bumpy road (even with Santa) along is going to get.
The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.
Another lovely addition to the Marietta, Montana books, and the Sheenan brothers series. I loved Daisy, I think she is easy to be adored. She has had a tough beginning of her life, but now is in the loving hands of the her new dad. And it is clear through the story, how much Cormac does love Daisy. Those two together are heart melting. Cormac and Whitney have a history, that is truly complicated. Actually, it is so complicated, that the pain, resentment, and mistrust are tangible in the air. Those feelings go deep and wide, and I don't think Cormac made a convincing case of redemption through the story. Yes, he is changed, and found a heart with Daisy, and not the 'Ice Man' anymore, at least not at all the time. But there is evidence of his previous behavior. There are business deals just waiting in the wings, to consume his time again, that were not really resolved. There was just not enough to convince me, that he now, suddenly, could do for ever after.. The story is really cute, it has the Marietta Christmas attractions, and spirits are high, and Christmas, hope, and faith in miracles are in the front seat. The Sheenan brothers and the town folks make an entrance in this story as well. Oh, and you know, North Pole, as magical as it sounds with the charming Kris Crinkles, really do exists, outside the Santa world, and in reality. Someone should tell Cormac that ;) I overall liked the story, I just needed more from Cormac to convince me of his intentions. I think an epilogue into the future could have made a difference, but as the story is now

This book was an okay read at Christmas-time. I liked the characters well enough overall, but I did get a bit tired of being told throughout the book how ruggedly handsome, muscular, sexy, etc., Cormac is. This book didn't have any sex scenes, which I really appreciated. There was too much focus on each other's bodies, in my opinion. I don't need to be told over and over again that he's so muscular and sexy or that she has a great butt and breasts. I also didn't like a reference to him getting "hard" and needing to get laid.
The story itself was pretty fun - I really liked Daisy and her belief in Santa. I liked her interactions with Kris Krinkles as well as with Cormac and Whitney.
The relationship between Whitney and Cormac was okay. I liked being able to see how Cormac had changed by being a father to Daisy as opposed to what he was like when he and Whitney had dated in the past.
Overall, it was an okay read but I won't go out of my way to read the other books in the series.
I loved A Christmas Miracle For Daisy! I don't know how Jane Porter does it, but somehow she manages to create a little window on a special world when she writes and you feel like you have front row seats. This book is the fifth in Jane's Taming of the Sheenans series but don't stress if it's your introduction to these lovely books - it works just fine by itself.
Set in Marietta Montana this book is loosely based on the Christmas movie Miracle on 34th Street, and tells the story of Cormac Sheenan and Whitney Alder, the only girl Cormac has ever loved if only he'd have the courage to admit it. Thrown into the mix is Cormac's adopted daughter Daisy, who is also Whitney's god-daughter and who has a special Christmas wish. With snow swirling and magic happening thanks to Marietta's own Santa Claus, Kris Crinkles, this story is filled with hope from the start to the finish. It's beautifully written and as been a joy to read. Thoroughly recommended!
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy Taming of the Sheenans, Book 5 by Jane Porter Tule Publishing Montana Born Books Seasonal story it definitely is .....However, the elements of life and joy and warmth abound within the pages of this book. Once you start reading you will have a very difficult time to lay it down. My heart warmed from the story itself. I know it is difficult to write with emotion and joy and fear and laughter but somehow this author was able to pull it all together and come up with a winning story that is well worth it. I would say that again though the amount of pages is too little for this type of story. Enjoy it for I certainly did!
A great read!
I was given this book in return for an honest review. Swedenmom
This was an enjoyable, easy, Christmas read. It was predictable, but it was fun to have a light romance for the holidays.
a stunning tale one which had me so engrossed, as always the author brings us the best of the best
Cormac Sheenan: the last of the Sheenan boys and almost a bigger fool than his brother Dillon, he is the focus of this heartwarming Christmas story of second chances. Cormac is an idiot, but a loveable idiot. When his friends die in a terrible accident, he gets custody of their little girl, Daisy. It's an uneasy custody though, and old flame Whitney wants custody as well. When Cormac wins, he also loses Whitney completely. Now, a couple years later, Cormac finds himself back in Marietta in a bid to protect Daisy. In a last ditch effort to keep Whitney in his life, he persuades her to do one last thing before she leaves his company. That puts them both in Marietta for the holidays. But Cormac's a Sheenan and like his brothers before him, he can't do anything right when it comes to the lady he loves. First, he's kicked her out of his life; then he's won sole custody of Daisy; and now he is moving his company to Marietta. Whitney is done and she isn't putting up with any more hurt from him. Thankfully for Cormac, the magic of the season and Marietta, along with some help from family and Kris Krinkles, works on Whitney.
This is a sweet story, filled with sad and poignant moments. Whitney and Cormac need a little help facing their emotions and their fears. Plus the Christmas season in Marietta and a large and welcoming family never hurt. There are some welcome return characters from previous books to help round out the story. It's not too saccharine and has a nice angsty touch to it. Overall, a nice addition to the Sheenan stories and a sweet Christmas story in Marietta.
I want to move to Marietta, Montana! I loved this book. It felt real, with realistic issues and real love.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend this book and author.
Jane Porter takes us back to Marietta, MT and her Sheenan's with Cormac's story. Though it is a part of a larger series, it can easily be read without reading the others.
Cormac has become a very successful Media Mogul since he left Marietta, but his relationships weren't always successful. When he met Whitney by chance, he made a date with her before realizing he worked for him. They had a great relationship unitl he got too closer and broke it off without warning. Not too much later, his Goddaughter Daisy was orphaned after a terrible accident, leaving him as her guardian. Unfortunately, this puts him into a nasty custody battle with Whitney, her godmother, with obvious results.
Cormac is determined to to be a good father and provide a good life for Daisy. When there is a lockdown at her school, he is too far away to get there fast, which brings him to the decision to move his entire business to Marietta. He just has to convince Whitney to stay with the company long enough to get company moved successfully. Whitney is determined to move on, but agrees to help design and move the new offices, especially with the added bonus of time with Daisy.
With Cormac working hard to change his life, prove to Whitney he has changed, an adorable Daisy, and of course, lovable Kris Krinkles, it has all the makings for a Christmas miracle.
The characters are great, Cormac really has some growing to do. Whitney is a strong character, and Cormac has to work hard to prove that they can have a future together. I love Daisy and her faith in "Santa."
A wonderful return to Marietta, a loose take on Miracle on 34th Street, and characters that are easy to relate to make this a holiday read that is a must-read any time of the year.

A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is book #5 in the Taming of the Sheenans series and I really enjoyed reading it.
I love Jane orter's book and how they are always full of emotions and focus about family and friends and A Christmas Miracle for Daisy was just what I'm used to read in a Jane's books.
It was full of emotions and it made me cry and laugh.
I really enjoyed reading about Cormac, Daisy and Whitney - I thought Daisy was adorable and I loved how Cormac was such a devote dad that was willing to move his all life and career to Montana in order for Daisy to be safer and be around family.
I loved the heroine Whitney and how she wasn't afraid to stand to up to Cormac and speak her mind.
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy is a great holiday read and it was fun reading it even after Christmas was over
My library didn't have book 1, so can't read 5... And I think they didn't have the others either!
I love the Sheehans's and now getting to read Cormac's story! What a wonderful Christmas read. Romance and the charm of a child and returning for another visit to Marietta makes me smile!
When I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review I thought, I enjoy reading romance novels and ones set at Christmas are usually lovely, but it was unexpectedly touching. Christmas is a time of miracles, at least believing in them, but I would call what happens in this book more like luck, but it still kept me reading, and as I read I was thinking this would make a delightful Christmas TV movie. Whether a miracle, luck, or serendipity this book gives a boost of Christmas comfort that just begs for a cup of hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows, a big comfy chair and the only sound, Christmas bells jingling in your head as each page turns or swipes by.
I really enjoyed this sweet and touching holiday story of Daisy wanting a mommy for Christmas. Her adopted father, Cormac is not happy with this idea, as he has no intention of settling down. He is understandably upset that a seasonal Santa gives Daisy the idea that her wish will come true. Especially when Cormac's old flame, Whitney, enters the picture.
Nice holiday story with great characters and an entertaining storyline.
