Advance Praise
I usually don't read paranormals, but I will try it when the author is really passionate about the story and captures my interest when talking about it. C.A. did that immediately for me. I will warn you though - this is an introduction to the town, the characters, the background of many of the main characters...it's going to get you interested and then end. You need to know going into reading this that it is a brief introduction to everyone. For me, that was a bit frustrating because I wanted to know what was going to happen! I took that as a good sign because C.A. was able to craft a world in 15,000 words that I was actually interested in reading more about. I am looking forward to the next book and hope it releases soon!

Shifted For Love by C.A. Tibbitts is Book 1 of the (Pepper Valley Shifters #1. Short but sweet; this is a great start for a new series. Enjoyable characters and storyline; this book is complete for the length of the read. I was pleasantly surprised that all matters were tied up nicely by the end of the story. Looking forward to the rest of the series and how the author spins things. Job well done!

A solid start to this shifter series.
Jace is broken and on the run from an abusive home when he stumbles across the Scott family. Fiona immediately falls for the older boy, but it takes a few years for Jace to start to notice her, thinking of her more as a sister after being taken in by her family.
I wasn't excited about Finn (Fiona's father) as he seems like a bit of a weak alpha. His arranging a mating for Fiona to a complete jackass didn't really endear me to him either.
Fiona starts out as a fierce girl who knows exactly what she wants and pretty much takes it. Then, sadly, girlie thoughts & hormones probably get the best of her and she makes some pretty crappy choices.
This is a relatively short novella, a small taste of things to come. Excited to see more from this world.

Great short story. Perfect for a quick read. Thank you for sharing this title on NetGalley. NetGalley has become an important tool for helping me find new materials for our library.

This was a very short read that goes through the history of missed opportunities and miscommunications between Jace and Fiona. While frustrating throughout, we eventually get to a HEA (thank goodness!).
Jace was adopted into a family of other shifters when he was still a teenager. His adoptive sister immediately fell in love with him. Don’t worry; it isn’t as icky as that might sound. As they grew up, Jace maintained his position that they were only friends. All of this changed, however, when Fiona finds herself to be mated in a political arrangement. This, coupled with Fiona’s determination, finally forces him to confront their undeniable attraction.
From there, unfortunately, nothing goes as planned. Jace might be trying to do what’s right, but they both end up messing things up further. This could have been a straightforward romance, but instead we get a lot of running away and hiding. For two stubborn and strong characters, they just can’t seem to get on the same page. It ends up taking someone outside their troubled relationship to find them some common ground.
