When out with her friends at the movies one night, seventeen year old Whitney meets Crash who she immediately thinks of as Mr. Lickable. He’s sexy and intriguing and the two immediately have a connection. But when Whitney invites Crash along on a night out with her friends, her best friend Link finds out who Crash really is, he’s the son of a drug dealer that was involved in Whitney’s brother’s death.
Wow, just wow. Blue Waters is one of those books that while it looked intriguing it just turned into way more than I was expecting when I picked it up. The writing is somewhat on the poetic side, the characters were just so likable and the plot went from fun to completely intense in the blink of an eye. I started off the story laughing but by the end was on the edge of my seat.
Novellas often lack a lot of depth but with this one I felt like I really got to know everyone and enough of the story that I was completely hooked. With the wonderful writing I could feel the characters emotions, the laughter, the friendship, the love and the pain. What a great start to this series, I will definitely be adding the next book to my to read list.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Being lucky enough to have read many books wrote by India Adams, I can certainly say she never disappoints and Blue Waters is no different. It was very easy to make a connection to all of the characters, but especially to Whit, Link and Crash. Whit, a young girl who has experienced so much loss in her life, relies on her best friend to save her. That is till she meets Crash. Little does she know, Crash is just the person she needs saving from. I highly recommend Blue Waters as a great read to anyone, especially young adults and those who have suffered abuse or loss of their own. It is such a great book!
Wow. I think I just lost a part of my heart, but I have high hopes that I'll have it back again. This book was so much more than I was expecting, more than I needed from a book, and more than I can handle at the moment. And I want MORE! India's words have left me on a high. Her words are beautifully sculpted into a remarkable story about love, lies, and sacrifice. Blue Waters was an incredible story about a girl who's world is on the verge of turning upside down. She just doesn't know it yet. The friendships are remarkable and the characters are hilarious. The magnitude in which this story speaks is simply mind numbing, but I wouldn't change a second of it. No way. No how.
Whitney is a seventeen year old who comes from a high class family. So does her best friend, Link. They have a remarkable relationship and are simply inseparable. Having a person such as Link in her life is perfect for Whit, she needs him. And I think he needs her too. When Whit runs into a sexy bad boy, as I like to call him, she's thrown into a whole new world, the world of Crash. Crash was probably my favorite character. The quiet but loveable type. You'll find out what I mean and I hope you fall in love, too. Crash Is more than Whit expects but he's good for her, too. Hopefully.
