Description
The years after college can be some of the most uncertain, unstable times of life. Recent graduates are often shocked to discover that college did not fully prepare them for the challenges they now face.
For more than a decade, Erica Young Reitz has specialized in helping college seniors and recent graduates navigate the transition to post-college life. Drawing on best practices and research on senior preparedness, she offers practical tools for a life of faithfulness and flourishing during a critical, transitional time. This practical guide addresses the top issues graduates face: making decisions, finding friends, managing money, discerning your calling and much more.

"Reitz has written an intensely practical book that tackles every possible challenge a newly graduating student might face. This is done in a way that empowers young adults in making choices that will help them thrive, not just survive, as they emerge into adulthood. Throughout the book Reitz interlaces scriptural stories about moments of transition that both encourage and instruct. Because I care about preparing my students to launch into their next phase of faithful living as followers of Christ, After College is destined to become required reading in my capstone course."
—Jana Sundene, associate professor of Christian ministries, Trinity International University, coauthor of Shaping the Journey of Emerging Adults

Though slightly older than "just out of college (not by much)," I enjoyed the read. While life is often far from what we expect it to be, we can still trust God to have a plan for our lives. After college, we expect life to follow a certain direction. I know, I did. It was like a big bomb dropped, when I learned I was chronically ill while in my last semester of college. 5 years later, I am still learning how to trust God, learn how to live, embrace the new, and forsake the old. My life is better, when I hold to this way of life. Life doesn't go according to plan, but we can make the choice to allow God to be present, active, and ever moving in our midst during this season of our lives. We will miss many blessings if we cling to our high expectations and refuse to accept what God is wanting to do in our lives. We have to trust God to work and to teach us how to live. This book will give us insight and help prepare us for entering the world (post college). Timely message for many. Our hope is firm in Christ, even when life doesn't go according to our plans. Let's resolve to trust God and enter this brand new adventure with Him.
