Animal Planet: Wild Animals (Animal Bites #4) did a fantastic job with picking the perfect pictures. The Animal Gallery section is sure to make adults and children "Oooh" and "Awww" over the adorable critters displayed in it. My favorites were the Aardvark and the Lemur Tree Frog. My child loved the Fennec Fox picture, as well as the Tarsier.

I appreciated the fact that Wild Animals points out that some animals simply aren't suited for the zoo, while others are. The section Back from the Brink points out how close we've came to losing some animals, and the (general) steps we had to take to save them. This can provide a great jumping off point for talking about conservation and endangered species with children. The section about the robins is particularly amazing and really drives it home.

Overall, this household was extremely happy with Animal Planet: Wild Animals, and, as usual, we can't wait for the next Animal Bites to be released! The fun, yet easy to understand facts, beautiful pictures, and thoughtful layout make it a perfect choice for any animal-loving young reader.

This book is exactly as the series says, Animal Bites. There are so many facts in this book that something is going to draw in any reader. This book describes many aspects of Wild animals. It talks about habitats, adaptations, family life and more. The photos in this book are amazing. They are so close you feel like you can touch the animals. The special sections on the side that include cool animal facts, simple infographics, and illustrated maps of the Earth and the habitats as well as the "just like me" bits are sure to invite discussion and further investigation. The back of the book that includes facts on conservation, activities, further resources and an extensive Glossary. I love that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Animal Planet's R.O.A.R. (Reach Out. Act. Respond.) project which partners with leading animal organization to make the world a better place for domestic and wild animals.

This book would be a great addition to a school or class library, especially those learning about habitats, adaptations and conservation.

This is an animal book done right. Information is done in “Animal Bites”, small tid bits just perfect for kids with wandering minds. This covers a variety of wild animals. The best picture by far is the swimming crocodile. A favorite things is the “worthy” sections. Are they Selfie Worthy? Besty Worthy? Very well done Animal Planet.

Did you know that Ostrich eggs can weigh up to 3lbs?
That grizzly bears can smell food from miles away?
That giraffes are usually silent but they do hum at night?

Me and my kids know all these things now. Small little facts that they love showing off and sharing to adults they know. This book is packed with tidbits like that and full of beautiful action photos of animals. My kids loved looking through the book and I loved that they were learning while they had fun!

Once again, Animal Planet delivers an outstanding selection for young readers. With over 200 full-color photographs of animals from all over the world, children and adults are sure to be amazed. Designed with the young reader in mind, this book packs a lot of information in short paragraphs and quick facts, to keep short-attention spans engaged. Exceptional resource for learning about animals of all kinds.

Animal Planet Wild Animals continues Animal Planet's trend of producing outstanding non-fiction books for children. The lay out of this book is especially engaging, as all text is limited to short paragraphs, guaranteed to keep both children and adults engaged. This book will be enjoyed independently by strong readers, or with assistance by beginning readers.

Thank you to Net Galley and Time Inc for a reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
