"What a great story about a headstrong and spunky princess wanting to take charge of her own fate. This book reads so descriptively and has a fairy tale way about it. The characters are appropriate for it's target audience and the story is not only engaging but action packed as well..."

This was a very entertaining read! I love Princess Madeline! She is very bold and determined. She does make some mistakes. However, that is the reason why she is very relatable and human. I do found her a strong and likable heroine.
Overall, this story is a unique fairytale. The message is about being yourself. Even though this novel is geared towards middle graders, it has something to offer everyone. I like the romance in the book for it was very believable. This book left me wanting for more, and I wish that a sequel was on the way. I reccommend this story for fans of Gail Carson Levine, Robin McKinley, and Shannon Hale.
