This was just as adorable as I had hoped. I spotted this book on Netgalley and it looked so fluffy and cute that I had to read it, and I am so glad I did, because this book will give you a warm fuzzy feeling.
It is about Ian who is going for a day (and a night) at his grandparents home. You will see what they do there in detail. From taking the dog walking, to scrubbing vegetables, to magical beds, and mountains of pancakes. It was so much fun to see all the things Ian’s grandparents did with and for him. They were really sweet.
Ian was also a fun character, and I was happy that he had so much fun with his grandparents. I also was happy for him that he is able to visit his grandparents like this.
The art is really cute, adorable, and fits the book perfectly. The art is also really colourful and will attract your eye immediately.
Would I recommend this book? Oh yes, yes I would! If you want some fuzzy feelings of love and happiness be sure to read this one.
Ian at Grandma and Grandpa's House by Pauline Oud is a delightfully sweet book to read to the little ones. It is officially grandchild tested by my two youngest grandchildren. This story revolves around Ian's experience of going to spend the night at his grandparent's house. The focus is on all the fun things they do while he is there. Ian has to decide what he needs to put in his suitcase for his trip. Ian helps to bathe the dog, harvest veggies from the garden, and spend special time with grandma and grandpa.
The colorful illustrations in Oud's sturdy board book are bound to hold a small child's interest. They will enjoy looking at the pictures over and over. The story also offers opportunities to ease a nervous, fearful child about his first time away from home.
An adorable book perfect for the little ones who may be experiencing separation anxiety from parents. Takes a look at how much fun they can have at the grandparents' house! Cute, engaging, and lovely illustrations. I definitely have a family in mind that will be receiving this book for Christmas!
