Imagine That! by James Mapes is a new book which explores "igniting your brain for creativity and peak performance." Mapes, who founded Quantum Leap Thinking, explains that he wrote this book to share insights and understandings gained in his "thirty-plus years as a researcher, speaker, and personal coach." Chapters have action-oriented titles like "Manage your Thinking," "Become an Artist of Possibility," or "Create a Stretch Goal." Imagine That! is an innovative and engaging book with links to numerous video clips, exercises on visualization, and other activities like the twenty-five squares game. I will be spending more time with this text and wish I had a print copy to better record and annotate my own efforts to reframe thinking patterns. Pick up and Imagine That! experience a change in perspective.
If you knew me you would know I'm not into self-help books at all , I feel they are cliche and mostly common sense but this book have changed my thought completely.
the introduction and the explore of mind and brain it was very interesting.
the exercises were very helpful and actually make sense and can easily be demonstrated in daily basis my absolute favorites were how to reframe the negative self-talker and self-destructive behavior, blind spot of our own system of belief and thinking and 25 squares game is a true wake up call and help set your priorities .
The videos were the cherry on top!
This book is one of few books that I will re-read multiple times (i actually need to get a physical copy of it ) because I surly will need it to live an exceptional life
Imagine That: Igniting Your Brain for Creativity and Peak Performance by James Mapes shows us how to live an “exceptional life”.
One of the good things about this book is that it incorporates “link alerts” were we are given a link to a video to watch to learn more about the topic that is being addressed. We are shown how to merge our subconscious and conscious minds so that we are able to make better decisions than previously as we are taught how to bring our subconscious and conscious minds into harmony with one another. At the end of each chapter there are think points which go over the main ideas of the chapter and give us thoughts to ponder upon.
My favorite chapter is entitled, “Becoming an Artist of Possibility” in which we learn to become the artist of our own lives and are shown how we are accountable for all aspects of our lives and how we create our lives.
This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to change their lives through creativity and exercises for your mind.
I acknowledge that I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
