What a delightfully goofy book.
The story is entertaining on its own, but the illustrations are PHENOMENAL. It sounds laughable, but I can't stress to you enough how beautiful this book about boogers is. Between the vivid colors and the large, clear words, it's a very aesthetically pleasing book that will hold young eyes.
Of course, the story isn't exactly an Aesop's fable with a moral at the end. But it is silly, and kids are at the age where they should think that books are fun. Kids will most certainly giggle, and now you can tell your kids to stop being a Gross Greg when you catching them eating boogers or doing something yucky.
Thank you Netgalley, author and publisher for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
Greg is gross. There's no two ways about it. This kid loves boogers (or bogies if you're a Brit). Not just picking them (let's face it what kid doesn't....and a fair few adults I've seen on the bus). No this kid loves them as a allegedly nutritious snack. Packed full of protein....apparently. Gross as Greg is though he is exactly the sort of character kids love. My 5 year old giggled all the way through this, she loved the pictures and was able to read it independently. You can't ask for more from a kids book. I gave it 5 stars....she gave it 50!
