Riverdale Avenue Books encourages requests from media professionals, bloggers, booksellers, librarians and educators, but reserves the right to accept or decline requests on a case-by-case basis.
• Please post your review no earlier than 30 days before the book goes on sale.
• Please consider submitting reviews for any title you’re approved for. Depending on your Role, reviews can be anything from a full text review, a link to a review online, a star rating out of 5, or just a note to let us know whether (or not!) you’ve decided to order the book for your library or bookstore. By reviewing our books, you grant us permission to use your reviews, in whole or in part.
When you post your review to NetGalley, we would appreciate it if you could include the following information:
• Name of the publication/blog/outlet(s) where your review will be published/posted
• Run date for when the review will be published/posted
• A link to your review, if available
• If you decide not to review an egalley, please let us know by marking "Declined" and letting us know why
Note to bloggers: your blog URL can be your Company association, and we greatly appreciate traffic stats in your profile.
• The ratio of "Requests Approved" to "Number of Reviews" is very important. We are only allowed to share a limited amount of galleys, so we want to make sure that the people we are granting requests to will read and review the book. If you want to improve your ratio, please consider submitting reviews for Riverdale titles you've been approved for in the past.
Please note that in order to receive egalleys from Riverdale Avenue Books, Reviewers must have a way of distributing their reviews.
If you are a blogger:
• Blog should be updated daily or almost daily and have a significant number of followers.
• Provide a direct link to your blog in the company field.
• Share your e-mail address (if it is not already in your public profile).
• State how many unique visitors you have per month to your site.
• Include Twitter handle and follower count and Facebook page and likes.
If you are a media professional:
• Include the name of the company where you work and your email address.
• If you are a freelance reviewer for publications:
• Include the name of the media outlets you write for and your email address.
• In most cases, requests will automatically be approved for librarians, booksellers and educators who include institution information and/or an institutional email address in their bio.
When we decline access it could be due to a number of reasons. The most likely reason we are unable to fulfill the request is because we've hit our maximum allowance for the title in question, so you didn't do anything wrong. We do decline some requests due to a lack of user profile information or Company association, so please make sure to include as much information as possible in your Public Bio. Therefore you may want to update your profile to provide more information to Riverdale Avenue Books, and try requesting the title again. We do try to make sure that the requested book meets a reviewer's interest and the reviewer is likely to write a review or be able to have their review of the book conveyed to other readers in an efficient manner. We also require Reviewers to have an email posted to NetGalley. And should you request a book, you agree we can add you to our mailing list so we can better connect you to our new releases.
