SHE THOUGHT IT WAS FATE. I KNEW IT WASN'T....

Years later, Tom makes a decision that ripples through their families' lives in ways he could never have foreseen. As the consequences of that fateful choice unfold, two women's paths become irrevocably intertwined. But when old love clashes with new, who will be left standing? And what happens when your secrets come back to haunt you?
Blending a page-turning moral dilemma with satisfying emotional poignancy, Finding Grace is a sweeping love story that explores the price of a new beginning, how the ghosts of our past shape our future, and whether redemption can be found in the wreckage of what we've lost.

What a story. It’s one of those tales that crystallizes early in the novel and burrows into your brain, forever immortalized by a shocking event that leaves a lasting impact.
The story begins with Honor, a woman who seems to have it all—a loving husband and a beautiful daughter. Yet, despite her perfect life, Honor feels an unshakable emptiness, a sense that her family is incomplete. She becomes consumed by the idea of having another child, and the struggles she faces along the way are all-consuming. The journey is fraught with heartache—failed attempts, dashed hopes, and a long list of setbacks. Eventually, she and her husband turn to surrogacy as their last hope, a decision that feels like a final chance to fulfill the dream that Honor so desperately clings to. Honor’s story takes a heartbreaking turn, leaving her husband, Tom, to pick up the pieces of their shattered dreams.
The novel explores themes of love, grief, and the complexities of human connection. It’s a true romance, but it’s also much more than that—a contemporary story that delves into the intricacies of relationships, the choices we make, and the secrets we keep. The characters are richly drawn, their emotions raw and genuine, making their journey all the more poignant. The tension builds as Tom navigates his growing feelings, torn between the desire to be honest and the fear of what the truth might do to the delicate balance they’ve found.
What makes this story so powerful is its ability to blend heartbreak with hope, to show that even in the face of unimaginable loss, love has a way of finding its way back. It’s a story that lingers in your thoughts long after you’ve finished reading, a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the enduring nature of love.
If you’re looking for a book that will pull at your heartstrings, challenge your emotions, and stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page, this is it. Finding Grace is incredibly memorable—both a beautiful romance and a profound exploration of loss and new beginnings.

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Easily one of my top reads of the year!)**
*Finding Grace* is the kind of novel that reminds readers why they love books. Loretta Rothschild has crafted a beautifully layered story filled with heartbreak, love, and the unexpected consequences of our choices. From the very first page, I was completely captivated, unable to put it down. At one point, I even said “whoa” out loud—I did *not* see a certain twist coming. And yes, this book made me cry, but in the best way possible.
The relationships in *Finding Grace* feel so authentic and complex, making every emotional moment hit even harder. It’s a story that lingers long after the final page, and I have no doubt it will stay with me for years to come.
A must-read for anyone who loves an emotional, gripping novel with unforgettable characters. This is easily one of my favorite books of the year—and it’s only January!
Finding Grace
By Loretta Rothschild
This is a debut novel. It starts with a bang – boy, I didn't see that coming! The narrator is a dead woman, for starters. It is a story of love; of hope rising out of sorrow; of friendship and loyalty and above all honesty.
Thomas and Honor are a married couple with a beautiful little four year old daughter named Chloe. Due to infertility issues, the marriage is strained. Honor desperately wants another child no matter what it takes. Thomas is ready to accept what he considers to be their already happy family. Then tragedy strikes and nothing will ever be the same.
This is a book that will bring you to tears. It will show you that life can and does go on, that it may be different – but still worth living. I can't wait to see what the author does for an encore!
Tanks to th publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.
Finding Grace is Loretta Rothschild’s debut and I am SO impressed. The synopsis already provided by the author is perfect. I do not want to spoil a single drop of this emotional, tumultuous, reflective, heat breaking, and heart warming story.
This book is very much about the characters. I felt like I knew them. I loved them, I was rooting for them, and at times I was very much yelling at them. This book had me reflecting on what I would do if I was in their shoes. Please pick this book up on June 10th, so you too can ride the waves of emotions from beginning to end.
4.75 stars! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book started out with a giant plot twist and then turned into a sweet but bumpy love story. When one person has a secret they should share in a relationship but can't find the strength to do it, it keeps me reading. I couldn't put Finding Grace down, and I couldn't stop hoping for Tom and Grace. Great story.
I loved reading this book! Powerful themes include love, heartbreak, secrets, and finding yourself after a great loss. Grace, Tom, Honor, and Henry all found places in my heart as I watched their lives mingle and change. This book makes you think deeply about the choices you make in life and what you would do if you were in their shoes. 5 stars/highly recommend.
This book was so many things. It was first off, incredible. Next, it was stunning. Add in heartbreaking and unexpected. Try twisty, clever, intelligent, fantastic, funny, beautiful, and slow moving train wreck. Have we got it all? There’s so much more I could say. I loved this book and promptly signed up for email updates so I wouldn’t lose track of the author. I get hundreds of emails a day. The fact that I’m asking for more should make it clear how good I found this book!
So much of this story was mind blowing. She writes like she’s done it every day of her life for the past 30 years, give or take a decade. I couldn’t believe that this was her debut novel. Her characters were alive and the choice of narrator was purely genius. I cared about them and desperately want to see what happens next in their lives! This book was incredible and I want more books like this, preferably to read now that I’ve finished Finding Grace. This is a definite recommendation from me!
Finding Grace, the debut novel from Loretta Rothschild, left me repeatedly uttering three words: “Oh. My. God.” It's hard to believe this is her first novel.
From the explosive opening chapters, this literary fiction grips you and refuses to let go until the final pages. I can't recall reading a book with such a unique concept or opener. We meet Honor, her husband Tom, and their daughter Chloe, celebrating the holidays in Paris. Despite the festive season, the atmosphere is tense as the parents bicker about their family's future. Honor is content but yearns for more, including welcoming another baby through a surrogate, whom the quarreling parents have codenamed “Dunkirk.” On Christmas morning, everything changes, leaving the characters—and the reader—to pick up the pieces.
Rothschild masterfully explores themes of loss, mourning, and love with sensitivity and respect. The heavy moments are handled with care, and the characters feel three-dimensional and alive. To reveal more would risk spoilers, so I'll keep it vague. If the book description intrigued you, stop reading my review and pre-order this book immediately.
While I enjoyed my time with Finding Grace, there are moments that require a suspension of disbelief. The main conflict could be resolved if the characters were more honest and communicative, especially as the situation spirals out of control. Without this conflict, there would be no story, but it's a minor qualm I had. Another small gripe is a twist near the end that felt more like an eye-roll than a WOW moment. It seemed to come out of nowhere from a character I wasn't particularly fond of.
Finding Grace is a debut like no other, and I'm excited for others to check it out. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC.
Unusual plot, sweet love story, I loved this so much! Honor seems to have everything, gorgeous husband, aand sweet daughter . But she longs for another baby and that longing seems to have taken over her life and foreshadows everything else. And then a tragedy occurs and her life and the life of her family are turned upside down.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Finding Grace”’is a completely unique, heartbreaking and pulse pounding novel. I don’t know if any other novel has made me nervous before, but somehow this story did. From the first few chapters on, I was completely enthralled with everyone in this story and the decisions they were making, including our narrator.
Every so often a book comes along that I simply refuse to summarize because I want to give everyone a chance to experience it the way I did, completely blind. And, this is how “Finding Grace” should be read. Don’t read a synopsis, don’t go reading too many reviews. Just pick it up and let yourself get lost in it. You will not regret jt.
