"If you don't put your whole heart in, what do you expect to get back?

This book has been on my TBR for a long time and I finally got to it. Yes, it was the guitar on the cover that pulled me in. I'm a Rockstar Romance addict and decided to give it a shot, even though I had not read this author before. I'm really glad that I did. I find the music industry details so interesting and this book had plenty of good stuff to keep me turning the pages.

Emmie is a likable character. But I admit she frustrated me at times because she's so decisive with others and so wishy-washy about her own issues. She has a big heart and likes to take care of people. When she moved in with her brother and started 'mothering' his band mates, they wanted to keep her. Especially Slater, though he tried to hide it. The chemistry between those two was magnetic and they kept being drawn together in spite of their attempts to fight their attraction. He knew his band was on the way up and he'd be going on tour. She knew that rockstars couldn't be trusted when they were on tour, surrounded by temptations they were unable to resist. She'd been down that road and had no intention of going back. But he was so damn tempting...

Slater had more women than he knew what to do with, but he didn't care about any of them. They were attracted to his charisma. His stage presence. His job title. They didn't know the real him. But Emmie, she saw him. She wasn't impressed by his talent, though she appreciated it. She'd been around rockstars her whole like and she wasn't a groupie. And he wasn't a rockstar... yet. She planned to help him, because he was her brother's best friend. She was there to help their band go to the next level. She was doing it for her brother, and he was just part of the deal. At least that's what she told herself.

You Really Got Me was a great start to a new series. The forbidden aspect of Slater wanting his best friend's sister added some spice to the already simmering tension. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series that is focused on Emmie's brother, Derek. I kept waiting for him to blow up when he learned about his sister falling for the lead singer. And, I'm excited that I'll get to spend more time with the whole band. Hopefully there will be a book for each of them. See ya there!
