Description
Tessa Tarrington's life is swirling out of control. No job. No
apartment. Sick Dad...And she's back in high school! Teaching at her
Gibson's Run alma mater would be tolerable, except she's sharing
purgatory with her mortal enemy, Ryland Jessup. But eight years
post-high-school, and after tragedies she can barely understand, Ryland
no longer fits her mental image of the over-sized bully he once was. In
fact, much to her disgust, he's finding his way into her heart. After
the sudden death of his wife, Ryland hung up his professional shoulder
pads and picked up a whistle. Now he's focused on coaching the high
school football team and raising his daughter. The sudden return of his
childhood crush, Tessa Tarrington, has reawakened long-ago feelings. But
if God's giving him a second chance to impress Tessa, the Man Upstairs
has a funny way of showing it. Just when Tessa starts to lighten up,
Ryland's best friend returns. Will the always-irresistible Joey Taylor
stifle any hope Ryland has to ignite the dream of a relationship with
Tessa?

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Tessa Terrington's life is down the toilet. After losing her job and her reputation, Tessa is once again back home to the place she couldn't wait to leave behind. All she wanted was to find clarity and take care of her father. She never expected to bump into the one person who has made her miserable her entire life....Ryland.
Ryland remembers being in love with Tessa when he was six years old. Now a widower and father, he never expected to see her again. But the problem is, Tessa's in love with his best friend Joey and that complicates things.
This book was enjoyable and suitable for all ages.
I'm on the porcelain edge is about Tessa Tarrington and her life – her life was circling the drain, she was fired from her job, her dad had a heart attack, she lives in her childhood bedroom and her love life just doesn't exist. Her apartment was broken into and things stolen including her four pieces of work and two contracts were stolen and they were sold to the highest bidder now her only anonymity as a writer is gone. She has no privacy going down the street. Do you want me to go on? The poor Woman , but GOD is with her and can turn serious lemon into the best lemonade can't HE? Well does HE do that for Gertrude? Does her life get better or worse? I hope you find out.
Cute & adorable. What happens to your elementary school love of your life when you embarrass her.? What happens when you feel embarrassed your entire school life because of a silly mistake ?
I loved this well written romance. Great plot and characters. If you enjoy a good clean read I recommend this book.
Every once in a great while a book comes along that sweeps you off your feet and has you rolling with laughter, then crying your eyes out because you feel so deeply what the characters are going through. For me, this was that book. I'm not sure I can even put into words how much of a roller coaster this book takes you and through all the emotions of Tessa feeling over and over like her life just keeps getting a new flush to make things worse, even when things seem to be looking up.
Tessa was a ghost writer for the rich and famous. But someone broke in, stole her files and is slowly leaking info to the public and she's been outed and fired. Her father recently had a heart attack and her only option is to return home to care for him and get a job at her old high school where a former classmate and bully also works. How could things possibly get any worse?
If you need a bit of humor, a twisty-turvy romance, and a good cry, then read this book. I'm definitely going to go look up anything else Hilbert has written and keep her on my "to watch for" list of authors.
Life on the Porcelain Edge is the first book I have read by C.E. Hilbert. Set eight years after high school, Tessa Tarrington is back in school as a teacher, where her worst nightmare is also teaching. Learning to get along with the enemy and finally dating her high school crush brings about some laughs and romance. I enjoyed reading this book!
I received this book from NetGalley and all opinions are my own.
I loved the title of this book. It drew me in when I felt like my life was a mess. Reading through the way God guided the people in this story and seeing the blessing of friends coming alongside others encouraged me to step out and trust God in my circumstances.
