Description

Opposites attract when an introverted vlogger and a reformed party boy exchange lessons on art, confidence, and yacht rock.

Artist Britt Branch has a successful online channel where she teaches a variety of art lessons. Obsessed with the 1970s, she has a style all her own. But she also has a huge problem--severe social anxiety. She lives with her mom, and while she pays her own bills, she wonders if she'll ever have the courage to move out and move on. When her best friend announces she's getting married, Britt decides it's time to make a change.

Gorgeous Hunter Pickett has always skated by on his model looks, applying very little effort to anything except sports, and even that was iffy at times. The third son of extremely wealthy and successful parents, he dealt with being the black sheep of the family by drinking and using drugs. By his third year of sobriety, he's still dealing with aimlessness. Late one night he catches Britt's channel and ends up watching her videos. He's not interested in art . . . at first. And when he sends her an online message, he's surprised she responds. Before long they are chatting every day, and once they start meeting in person, a spark-filled friendship begins.

But both of them are keeping secrets. Big ones. When all truths are revealed in one pivotal moment, Britt and Hunter are at a crossroads. Will he fight for the happiness he's worked so hard to obtain? And will she continue to hide from life, or can she finally step out of her own shadow?

Opposites attract when an introverted vlogger and a reformed party boy exchange lessons on art, confidence, and yacht rock.

Many thanks to the publisher, Netgalley, and the author for my ARC.

Based on other books I’ve read by this author; I knew this would be a book that would end with a “feel good” kind of feeling. Definitely true for this delightful, heartwarming story.
Twenty-eight-year-old Britt Branch lives at home with her divorced mother. Her parents have been divorced for twenty years with no contact from her father. Only in the past few months has she and her dad gotten together, unbeknownst to her mother. He has cleaned himself up, no longer drinks and has a respectable steady job as the chauffeur for a prominent local attorney.
Britt is an accomplished artist with a successful online presence, where she teaches numerous different types of art lessons, however, she also suffers from a very bad case of social anxiety. She has only one friend, and rarely goes out in public. That one friend is getting married and asks Britt to be her maid of honor. She accepts but panic sets in and she decides that she must try to get over the panic she feels when out among people.
Handsome Hunter Pickett has had his share of troubles, getting by on his good looks, putting very little effort into school, resulting in changing schools many times during his high school years. His family is very wealthy, and both of his brothers are married with successful careers, while his parents have pretty much disowned him. At age 30, Hunter has a GED and works nights in a warehouse, sharing an apartment with a friend.
Hunter stumbles upon Britt’s channel and watches her videos. He is intrigued by her art and sends her a message which she responds to. They strike up an online friendship and when they coincidently meet one day in an art supply store that is one of Britt’s sponsors, things seem to click. Britt, however, is totally honest about the panic that seizes her when she’s around people and out in public. Hunter is determined to help her overcome her anxiety, one baby step at a time.
This is a book that kept my attention to the very last page. There is humor, some complicated situations that arise, as well as reconciliation and second chances. A heartwarming story that will stay with me for a while.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.

So Into You by Kathleen Fuller is a delightful rom-com. It started a little slow for me as the author was developing the characters. At first, I thought there were too many characters. However, as the novel progressed, the plot came together masterfully. I loved the insecure and flawed characters. Acceptance, forgiveness of others and self, and determination to take risks to move life in a positive direction are all elements of this beautifully crafted novel.

Releases Dec. 3rd. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

So Into You reads like a rom-com movie. It was like a mixture of Katherine Center and some of Karen Kingsbury’s earlier works. It starts off pretty slow but picks up after the first couple of chapters. This is also not an insta-romance, but it’s not necessarily a slow burn either. The two leads still have great chemistry, and the book deals with their budding romance and personal issues. Two being addictions and anxiety. I also loved how so many of the characters' lives were intertwined. It made me anticipate what was to come and laugh! Which I did a few times throughout my reading. So thank you, Kathleen Fuller for an enjoyable read. I'm really looking forward to reading more of your books!

This was a delightful romance. It did a great job describing someone with an anxiety disorder. It is also a good redemption story for recovering addicts. I liked how the story had several different storylines that tied together. It wasn't just a romance story for young adults; it had a love story for middle-aged adults too. I enjoyed how the story pulled me forward all the way through to the end. It was a good escape that I needed, and it entertained me while encouraging me.

This delightful story is all about being uncomfortably comfortable. I adored Britt’s artistic ability and expressions, even if she is a little quirky. To be fair, she deals with crippling anxiety and I love that she has found a way to live peaceably with her limitations. I love how Hunter was drawn to her voice and allowed himself to try something new. Both Britt and Hunter open themselves up to try something new and the journey with both of them is sweet and inspiring. There is a brilliance to how all the storylines intersect and when they fully cross and everything is exposed there is power in the truth. As one who is not artistic, I did enjoy all the descriptions throughout. Restoration is a key theme that resonates throughout, even if it is a painful journey to get there. The additional storyline of Daniel and Amy was a bonus and full of poignant truths as well. Trigger warnings: heavy discussions on alcoholism, sobriety, anxiety, and divorce.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

Loved reading the inspirational and entertaining story. Hunter struggles daily with his drinking problem, and Britt's video's online have a calming affect on him. Even though Britt struggles with social anxiety, she agrees to give Hunter art lessons. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting romance story.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and lovable. The pacing was perfect and left you wanting to read more. I can't wait to read more by this author!

I read this book in 24 hours, it was so good! I very much related to the main character, Britt, and her mom as someone with anxiety and with a daughter I support with severe anxiety much like Britt. I ADORED Maude, she is hilarious! This book had me giggling, swooning, and encouraged all at once. It's a sweet, clean rom-com type read with hints of faith messages (like grace and forgiveness), but the writing in this one is next level as the scenes felt very real-life (perhaps since it is so similar to my life!). I look forward to reading more from Kathleen Fuller.

“You have to give yourself the freedom not to be perfect.”

This delightful rom-com by Kathleen Fuller is a great weekend read. I read this book back in August when I needed a brain break from school and this book did the job! On the surface it has a Hallmark movie vibe, but once you read more, you are intertwined with past family traumas, old friendships, and new relationships. Perhaps, Kathleen Fuller will provide us a sequel…

I read this book for free on my #kindle thanks to #NetGalley .

I absolutely adored this story, once I started I didn't stop. The characters were fabulous, no one perfect all flawed, all real. Social anxiety is close to my heart, the fidgetting, the nervous blurting of words, very real. I felt the story maintained a light hearted feel even though there was some serious themes running through the whole story.

Love love this author's books, but this one kind of fell flat. The subjects of the story were good and I did learn a few things like social anxiety and addiction
The author did well with these making them realistic which i appreciated. This helped me to understand people that have it better.
But I wish the story were straight through without the different pov. At times it felt like 4 different stories. Very confusing. I didn't care much for that.
I'm sorry that I was the right audience for this book.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

I loved this book! Such a great story of second chances, the constant fight against addiction and finding oneself. Anxiety ridden introvert Britt shares her art to the world through her YouTube channel. Living with her mom Britt has a comfortable, predictable life. Then things start to change. At first Britt is reluctant to accept the changes. Then Hunter, who also has his share of problems, reaches out to her. Once they meet sparks begin to fly and Britt is living her best life. Until a web of secrets is revealed in one night. Will the love for each other be enough to wash away the past?

'So Into You' is an artistic women's fiction novel with multiple sweet romance stories weaved together. I love Kathleen Fuller's decision to write using 4 different POVs: Britt, her love interest, and her estranged parents. The relational redemption is this story blew me away! It was heart-warming and deeply emotional.

If you enjoy reading clean contemporary romance novels, then I recommend this book to you!

Special thanks to the Publisher, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Net Galley for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What an interesting story involving 2 generations intertwined without even them knowing, all due to communication-or rather the lack of communication. I enjoyed the story although there were lots of heartbreaks in the character's challenges within their lives. One constant was Maude and X, aging hippies that I would want in my life for their calm and wisdom as well as Maude's spunk! Great characters, intertwined plot within families, and (mis)conceptions by many. Thought provoking and a captivating read. It was hard to put the book down! This was a new author for me, and I will seek out her books for future reading.

I would like to thank Net Galley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the opportunity to read this book and express my personal impressions.

So Into You by Kathleen Fuller is labeled as a Rom-Com but I don't think this is the right label for this book. This book deals with some heavy issues like alcholism and anxiety. An alternate name for this book could be Keeping Secrets since many of the characters in this book had secrets they did not reveal to those who were close to them. The female lead character Brit has a successful youtube channel where she instructs art techniques. Despite her successs Brit has anxiety issues. She has trouble getting out in the public. Hunter PIckett happened upon her channel by accident and was intriqued so he connects with her. Later on they meet up and form a friendship. Hunter has his own issues. He is a recovering alcoholic who is estranged from his wealthy family. Brit and Hunter have a growing relationship. Brit has a low opinion of herself and finds it hard to believe a good looking guy like Hunter could be interested in her. Both are guilty of keeping secrets. Hunter does not reveal to her that he is estranged from his family because he is a recovering alcoholic. Brit has her own secrets. Her mother does not know that she has re-connected with her father who also is a recovering alcoholic. I mostly liked all the characters in this book. Even Hunter's parents won me over. They just wanted the best for their son. Brit's mother Amy was a bit overbearing. She was over-protective of Brit, treated her like a child and did not respect her daughter's decisions.

I enjoyed this books and looking forward to more contemporary stories from this author who usually writes Amish fiction.

All opionions are my own. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and did not receive compensation.

I enjoyed this story very much. I have read a few others by this author and she is quickly becoming a favorite of mine to read. I struggled with social anxiety some myself so the story was very relatable and held my attention. I loved how all the characters connected when they all met at the party. So glad I read this book and will recommend it to my friends.

A Delightful Rom-Com with Hidden Depth
Kathleen Fuller's "So Into You" is a delightful rom-com that's perfect for a weekend escape. It initially gives off a Hallmark movie vibe, but it quickly dives deeper into themes of family trauma, old friendships, and budding relationships.

The story follows Brittany Branch, a talented vlogger who struggles with anxiety and a low self-image. Her parents' divorce twenty years ago has left lasting scars, and she's only now starting to reconnect with her father. Hunter Pickett, a handsome recovering alcoholic, has been cast out by his family due to his past behavior.

Fuller skillfully weaves together their stories, exploring the complexities of family dynamics and the healing power of love and forgiveness. While the romance is heartwarming, the novel also tackles deeper issues with sensitivity and insight. The characters' emotions feel real and relatable, and there's a subtle sense of divine intervention at play.

I highly recommend "So Into You" for those seeking a thought-provoking romance novel that goes beyond the surface. It's a captivating story that will leave you hoping for a sequel.

I read this book for free on my #kindle thanks to #NetGalley

This book is a deeper romance novel. It is full of forgiveness, second chances, and hope that people can change for the better. It features a reformed bad boy struggling to find himself after becoming sober and a woman who is a brilliant artist that struggles with debilitating social anxiety.

Book Review: So Into You by Kathleen Fuller

So Into You by Kathleen Fuller is a charming and heartfelt romance novel that brings together two deeply flawed yet lovable characters—Britt Branch, an introverted artist with severe social anxiety, and Hunter Pickett, a reformed party boy struggling to find direction in his life. The story centers around their journey toward personal growth, understanding, and the kind of love that can only blossom when people allow themselves to be vulnerable.

Character Development and Themes
The beauty of So Into You lies in its focus on character development, particularly for its two leads, Britt and Hunter. Britt is a talented and passionate artist who runs a successful online channel teaching art lessons. However, despite her professional achievements, her social anxiety severely hampers her personal life. Fuller does an excellent job portraying Britt’s internal struggles—she feels safe behind her computer screen but has a difficult time navigating face-to-face relationships. This makes her relatable to many who have experienced anxiety or social insecurities. Britt’s love for the 1970s era, which she expresses through her art and personal style, adds an eccentric and endearing layer to her personality, making her stand out as a unique, creative heroine.

Hunter Pickett, on the other hand, is a "reformed bad boy," and this trope is executed with nuance. He comes from a wealthy family and was once known for his good looks and reckless partying. However, he has spent years recovering from addiction and trying to find meaning in his life, now three years sober. His feelings of inadequacy and the pressure of being the black sheep in a successful family are well conveyed. Hunter’s struggle with his past mistakes, combined with his aimlessness, creates a genuine character arc that extends beyond the typical "charming bad boy" persona seen in many romance novels. His redemption story feels earned, rather than forced, and Fuller allows his vulnerabilities to shine through.

The chemistry between Britt and Hunter is sweet and organic. The connection starts with an online message after Hunter stumbles upon Britt’s art videos. Despite initially having no interest in art, Hunter is captivated by Britt’s passion and talent, which draws him into her world. Their digital interactions gradually build into something more, leading to a friendship full of flirty banter and deep, heartfelt conversations. What’s especially enjoyable about their dynamic is how they teach each other. Britt, with her insecurities, learns from Hunter’s confidence and perseverance, while Hunter discovers the joy and therapeutic power of art through Britt. The novel delicately balances both characters’ personal growth with their growing relationship, making it more than just a romance—it’s a story of healing and learning to embrace oneself.

Themes of Art, Anxiety, and Redemption
One of the standout aspects of So Into You is how it incorporates art as a medium of self-expression and healing. For Britt, art is not just a career—it’s her safe space and the way she communicates with the world. Fuller does a wonderful job of using art as a metaphor for Britt’s personal struggles, particularly her journey toward overcoming her social anxiety and stepping out of the shadows of her own fears. The novel explores how art can be a form of therapy, not just for Britt but also for Hunter, who learns to appreciate creativity as a way of coping with his own emotional baggage.

The portrayal of anxiety is sensitive and realistic, and Britt’s battle with it is not minimized or quickly resolved. Her fears of stepping outside her comfort zone are palpable throughout the story, and it’s refreshing to see a romance heroine whose challenges go beyond simple relationship hurdles. Fuller gives her time to grow, and while the romance helps, it’s ultimately Britt’s own decision to take control of her life that leads to her transformation.

On the other hand, Hunter’s storyline tackles issues of addiction, self-worth, and redemption. As someone who has struggled with drugs and alcohol, he is a character who understands the importance of second chances, and it’s inspiring to see how hard he works to change his life. His journey is not smooth—there are moments of doubt and struggle—but Fuller’s depiction of his recovery feels honest and respectful. Hunter’s aimlessness post-recovery is a relatable aspect of his character, showing that sobriety is not a cure-all, but the beginning of a new, sometimes difficult, path. His relationship with Britt gives him a renewed sense of purpose, but like Britt, his transformation is personal and not wholly dependent on his romantic partner.

Romance and Conflict
While So Into You is undoubtedly a romance novel, the love story unfolds in a slow and steady manner, which fits both characters’ personalities and circumstances. There is no instant, whirlwind romance here; instead, Fuller builds a believable and tender connection between Britt and Hunter, allowing their friendship to serve as the foundation for something deeper. The romantic tension is there, but it’s rooted in emotional intimacy and mutual respect, which makes the eventual blossoming of their relationship all the more satisfying.

That being said, the novel also has its fair share of conflict, particularly as both characters are keeping significant secrets. When these secrets come to light in a pivotal moment, Britt and Hunter are forced to confront not only each other’s pasts but also their own insecurities and fears. Fuller handles this moment with care, giving both characters the space to react authentically. The resolution is neither rushed nor overly dramatic, maintaining the novel’s focus on emotional growth rather than contrived conflict for the sake of tension.

Conclusion
So Into You is a delightful read for fans of sweet, character-driven romances. Kathleen Fuller has crafted a thoughtful story that tackles issues like social anxiety, addiction, and self-worth, while still delivering the warmth and feel-good moments that romance readers crave. Britt and Hunter’s love story is grounded in mutual respect and personal growth, making their journey toward happiness both heartwarming and inspiring.

For readers looking for a romance that goes beyond surface-level attraction and explores the deeper emotional layers of its characters, So Into You is a perfect choice. Whether you're drawn to stories about artistic expression, personal redemption, or simply enjoy a well-crafted opposites-attract romance, this book has something to offer.

She combats this by creating YouTube videos that teach others how to do different art. reformed party boy Hunter stumbles across her videos and feels a connection. Britt & Hunter

When I saw this one pop up on NetGalley, I knew I had to read it!

I loved the multi-romance story line, the redemption, and just the way that both Britt and Hunter grew. The little connections between Hunter and Britt’s families made for some great suspense. All four main characters had to learn about the consequences of keeping secrets and not owning up to their mistakes.

I really enjoyed the gentle element of faith in Hunter’s storyline. I think it was really neat, and special, that his dad was able to form a connection with Britt’s dad, and offer him a second chance, and I think that Hunter’s past really helped with the offer of redemption for her dad.

The theme of anxiety and worry was very well done. If you’re looking for a book that addresses social anxiety, Kathleen does a wonderful job in this one!

Big thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the chance to read and review early!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable and very unique romance. Brittany has severe social anxiety and still lives with her mother, and Hunter is a recovering alcoholic who has been completely cut off from his family. That's how things start out before author Kathleen Fuller weaves this rocky start into a clean romance that deals with tough issues in an understanding but not overly heavy way. The main characters, as well as the supporting ones, are well-developed and likeable. I especially loved how Hunter was so understanding and was willing to make the extra effort required to have a relationship with Brittany. Maude and X are great quirky characters that own an art store where Brittany and Hunter get to know one another. The story flows at a good pace, and the dialogue seems natural for the characters and the situations. There's a great HEA. Kathleen Fuller is a new-to-me author, and I would definitely read more books by her and would highly recommend So Into You.
I received a complimentary copy through NetGalley from the publisher and am sharing my opinion of this very well-written and interesting romance.
