Description
Just shy of fifteen years old, and during a fake an impromptu wedding ceremony, Lily Scott married her best friend's brother, Henry Dalton. It seemed harmless enough until he leaned in and whispered to her his true feelings, amorous words she has been unable to forget: Now you're mine, forever and always.
Unfortunately, growing up places obstacles in their path, pulling them apart and turning Henry into a pompous rake. Can a mischievous matchmaker, a mysterious letter, and a scandalous house party be enough to reunite these two misguided hearts and give them a second chance at true love?

Mine, Forever and Always are the sweet words Henry whispers to Lily during their teenage years. Henry’s father tells him that he is destined to marry wealthy to help bring funds back to the family coffers. So, Henry walks away and appears to completely forget Lily. Lily still yearns for Henry and has not completely given up on him.
But, Henry’s sister, Jane, a complete romantic, decides to try to get them together. At the same time, Jane is enamored with Henry’s best friend, Waverly, and asks Lily to write a love letter for Waverly. Of course, the letter ends up in Henry’s hands instead of Waverly’s. Waverly turns out to be the best friend a man could have.
What follows is the angst and sweetness of any couple who want to be together, but cannot. To add to the appearance of hopelessness is Henry’s former conquest, Ms. Appleton. He had his sister invite Ms. Appleton to the house party as a diversion even though their affair had ended some time ago. Ms. Appleton is just plain irritating and to Henry most of all. He kind of deserves it for getting her invited.
Ms. Bailey has compacted this sweet romance into a novella that will keep your attention till the end.
Lily, Henry and Henry's sister Jane have been friends since they were very young. Henry's father separated Lily and Henry when they were fifteen when he noticed that were getting too close. They were not suited due to Lily having a small dowry. At a house party, Henry finds a note written by Lily. He assumes it was written to another man even if it is not addressed to anyone. He wants to know who, as he remains attached to Lily despite the years that they have separated. When another man appears to be attracted to her, Henry gets very jealous. He thinks that another woman might suit him and asks for Miss Appleton to be invited to the party. Once there, he realizes that she is rude and does not make his heart race as Lily does. Lily, Henry and Henry's sister Jane have been friends since they were very young. Henry's father separated Lily and Henry when they were fifteen when he noticed that were getting too close. Neither Henry or Lilly can forget the promises made to each other as children. This is a lovely story of second chances and a love that never stopped. I really loved it. I received this book from Net Galley and the publisher for a honest review and no compensation otherwise. The opinions expressed are my own.
I loved Lily and Henry story! I loved watching these two find their way back to one another! There were so many misunderstandings in this book that it just kept breaking my heart every time each of them felt like they were not going to get back together. Henry's sister was playing matchmaker throughout the story and I hope that we get her story next!
