Bean Sprouts Kitchen is such a fun cookbook for families. The pictures are beautiful and the recipes sound amazing. Each recipe is easy follow, and many use ingredients or leftovers from other recipes. Making healthy food should be fun for kids, it doesn't always have to look like plain veggies on a section of their divided plate. I enjoy making creative lunches for my children, this book is a perfect addition to our kids cookbook library. My kids cannot wait to try the Mac and Cheetah recipe!
I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
Super cute collection of very kid-friendly recipes! The presentation is the big seller here - foods made into bugs, monsters, islands and much more. These could be a great way to get the super picky eater to try foods they otherwise wouldn't and kids could get involved in making foods which often increases their desire to try new foods. Many recipes can be made vegetarian or vegan with some simple substitutions, though if you're looking specifically for veg-friendly recipes, this isn't likely the best collection as many call for ground turkey, eggs, etc. Recipes come together quickly due to the use of some pre-made items such as pizza dough, canned beans and frozen waffles and the use of simple ingredients. Recipes include meals, snacks, drinks and sweet treats. This would be a cute gift for the new parent.
Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this fun book in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I am sad, after reading this book, that I can't patronize the restaurant Bean Sprouts kitchen daily. It looks like so much fun. I have a picky three-year-old and as so many moms out there I tear my hair out trying to come up with creative ways to get her to eat her dinner. Many pinter-fails later, I am still at a loss. This book is a godsend for a mom like me.
The recipe book includes 60 recipes from their restaurant menu that have been thoroughly tested by 1000's of kids from their 15 locations in the United States. The philosophy of their restaurant is to "Spark children's appetites with yummy, good-for-you food; and delight grown-ups with a happier mealtime." They have achieved that! I am an adult and I am interested in making mealtime more fun for myself, let alone my child after reading this. Who doesn't want a quesadilla shaped like a rocket ship?!
A fantastic gift for a parent and/or grandparent who wants more fun and an easier time at meals with their kid. Highest possible recommendation!
The recipes presented in this book are taken right off the menu of the kid-friendly restaurant chain - 'Bean Sprouts'. The author presents creative eye-catching dishes sure to gather the attention of children and adults alike. As it's been said many times before, "we eat with our eyes."
Healthy food alternatives are at the top of the list of priorities for the recipes contained in this masterful cookbook. The simplicity of many of the recipes make this the go-to stop for getting it done quick and easy. For an added kick, there are many suggestions to get the child to participate in preparing the dishes such as using child scissors. For the most part, all preparation is simple and easy. Expertise in the kitchen is not a requirement. Now that's my kind of cooking.
I extend my gratitude to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Fair Winds Press for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.
