Description
A girl trying to escape is murdered. A sex trafficking operation. A truck driver witnesses both. It all unfolds in The Driver, a realistic fictional suspense about a truck driver who finds himself in two places at once over the course of two and a half days.
The line of consciousness is blurred when autopilot kicks in while making deliveries across state lines. Did he really witness these horrid atrocities? Was it a figment of his imagination?
Should he tell the authorities? And if so, will he become their prime witness? Or their main suspect?

After waking from a horrifying dream-like state, a truck driver starts to find out about several heroic acts he has done on his route. He also remembers a girl that has been killed and others that were taken against their will. Now he must decide what he is going to do about everything that has happened.
In The Driver, David Nuckles takes on a subject that is continually on the rise. Sex trafficking is a problem that, though it isn't new, has been made more public in recent years. I learned how serious it had become a few years ago, and since this book dealt with the topic, I wanted to read it.
I had a hard time staying engaged in the story. I wanted to read it, but I could only read a chapter, or two at the most, at a time. I guess the best way to put it is that I couldn't connect with the main character. The plot and events were well described, I just had trouble getting into the book.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
This is a well written book. It has mystery, suspense and action that will keep you turning the pages. Thank you BookGoSocial via NetGalley for the free copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
