A beautifully presented wander through some of the best places one can eat or buy vegan food in London.
The photos are just scrumptious, more of a restaurant guide and a coffee table book, it still is worth a good read even if you do not live in London. There is information on each venue with tidbits of information of the various meals served - which can be used as a base for ideas for the home cook, who would like to experiment.

Vegan London
A guide to the capital's best cafes, restaurants and food stores
by Serena Lee

What a delight this book must have been to create! Why? Getting to travel to so many locations in and around London while sampling meals from a variety of vegan restaurants would be a dream for me...bet it was for the author, too.

The book is divided into: Quick Bites, Going Global, Date Night, Plant Power, Sweet Treats and Cafe Culture. Each section has ten or more restaurants listed with photos and comments about the type of food they create and offer to customers.

I can see this as a great book for any vegan living in or going to visit London. I can also see it as a book hotels might want to have available for their concierges in case guests ask for a recommendation of where to dine in London if vegan. I also have to make the comment that I am even now trying to figure out how to recreate some of the meals pictured in the book to eat at home ;)

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion Publishing for the ARC ~ This is my honest review.

What a great resource for locals and travelers alike! Locals will love this book for finding great new places to try that are 100% vegan or vegan-friendly (each entry is noted which it falls under) restaurants, cafes and more. Travelers will save copious amounts of time and frustration in not having to hunt down vegan-friendly places to eat while enjoying the sights around London. Establishments are grouped together so the reader can quickly find a quick bite, global cuisine, a great place for a date night, healthier fare, sweets or a nice cafe. I'll definitely recommend this to anyone living in or around London or planning to travel to the area. Traveling as a vegan is getting easier and easier through the ever-growing options and compilations such as this one that help the diner find those options.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group - White Lion Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

An interesting and detailed guide to vegan eating in London.
I'm not vegan but as I'm on a strict diet I was interested in in to read it.
It's full of addresses and lovely pictures, a very good guide.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Quarto Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC

With only the vegan in mind, the author painstakingly created an all-inclusive encyclopedia for the locals or visitors to the bristling streets of London. Easy to spot, colorful pictures identify each restaurant from the outside as well as some of the savory dishes offered - nice touch. On a more important note, distinctions are clearly made between vegan-friendly and 100% vegan establishments. With a map and handy index at the end, it's the complete package. Anyone with an appetite in search of healthy food alternatives will find this invaluable reference material a must-have.

I extend my thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - White Lion Publishing for this digital edition in exchange for an unbiased review.

'Vegan London' by Serena Lee is just in time for Veganuary. Whats that you ask?
Going Vegan for the whole first month of the year.
There are photographs of some of the dishes as well as of the place which shows you a bit of the vibe. It is surprising that they didnt all start vegan. Some turned vegan. Some are more sustainability focused. Some have tried for years to make their vegan recipes work, Some welcome your furry friends. Some have 'wingz' contest (Biff's Jack Shack). Look out for March. One settled in a double-decker bus. Never thought of it as a cafe place.
The maps at the end show you where these cafes are. If you wish, flip to those pages first, read of them by proximity, which might be the order you will visit them in. One doesnt have a fixed menu, which means multiple visits to sample it all.
You will see a trend of jackfruit as a substitute for pulled pork. I dound it intresting that PETA hands out prizes for the best vegan food. I have been to mock meat places and temples of Tempeh and Seitan (picked the nomer from the book) but never heard of vegan prawns and tofish tacos.
Junk food is when something has arrived. Vegan surely has with Vegan junk food.
Look forward to the Britain Dhal Fesival.

As a long time vegetarian/vegan, I thought I knew all the best places to eat in London but this book has opened my eyes and taste buds to a wide range of food delights. Since reading this book I have visited several of the eateries and had some amazing food - seitan burgers, tofish, pies and vegan cakes. For anyone trying veganuary or just looking for somewhere new to eat, this book suggests a range of places from street food to sit down dinners right across London. I look forward to using this fabulous guide and finding more interesting and adventurous places to eat vegan in London.

So whether you are looking for a quick-bite, a date night dining experience, or a late night dessert stop over, this book will point you in the right direction. Great photography to as well to explore dishes visually or select the right environment for dining. Would love to see other cities around the globe this involved, particularly in the states!

Loved this so much! Every vegan in London or visiting London needs to read this book. Great suggestions for places to eat delicious vegan food as well as beautiful pictures and recommendations as to what you should order. While I think this is great, I think it would be much better as an annual updated book as menus and restaurants change quite frequently! Now I only wish there was something exactly like this for Toronto!

Hubby and I are in the very early stages of planning a trip to the UK. We have been pondering where to go, what we should see, how long our trip will be, and so on. While researching I ran across this travel guide and was thrilled for the opportunity read and review it.

We are not vegan, but my husband is lactose intolerant so I quite often browse anything and everything vegan. While traveling we love to check out the local vegan restaurants, especially for the desserts. They are a places where we don’t have to worry about dairy creeping into his food and giving him an adverse reaction.

Upon opening this book the first thing that caught my eye were the beautiful photos. They are colorful and extremely well done, they made me hungry just looking at them! Next I started reading the introduction and came to a screeching halt when I read deep-fried ice cream. Well hello…that got my attention and I couldn’t wait to see what this book had to offer!

This book has just about every cuisine imaginable – Italian, Mexican, Indian, Turkish, Vietnamese, and so on. Every establishment listed is either 100% vegan or vegan-friendly. The descriptions are very well done! Many of them include a bit of history about the restaurant or cafe and a mouth-watering peek at some of their offerings. Street addresses and websites are also listed and I was impressed to see that many of these establishments have multiple locations. There is also an index in the back that lists the locations by area. This thrilled me, as a soon-to-be tourist, I need all the help I can get in a new city.

I was already very excited about my upcoming trip to London and this book has only made me even more excited. I really look forward to visiting many of these restaurants/cafes. I will probably be focusing on the places that offer some of the delicious sounding desserts that I read about like tiramisu, cupcakes, peanut-butter brownies, are you getting hungry yet?!

Serena Lee has done her homework. This book appears to be really well researched and I can hardly wait to try some of these restaurants and cafes out in person!

Are you planning a trip to London and you are vegan?
In this case Vegan London A guide to the Capital's Best Cafè's restaurant and Food Stores by Serena Lee Photographs by Jack Orton i

s the book for you! Published by Quarto this book will reveal to you the most fascinating restaurants and places where you can rest eating all the possible vegan food you like while you visit this fascinating european capital.

And trust me when I tell you this: this guide is for all tastes. In fact most of these restaurants offers a diversified and not just british cousine.

The request, always more urgent for new vegan dishes became appealing recently also for the british capital with an incredible offer! A lot of people, always more numerous are embracing where not a vegan diet, a vegetarian diet, because they understand the importance of eating ethically, respecting nature, ourselves, our health and animals.
Through this book you will discover Mexican vegan dishes, six different types of yummy gelato; yes, completely vegan! If you search for a burger, you will obtain for sure, if you go for italian dishes revisited for your tastes, you won't be disappointed.
Do you want a vegan pizza? Don't worry, you can eat it deliciously and without any kind of stress.

It's not important what kind of vegan food you are searching for, London is international so it embraces all the world in terms of food as well.

Every restaurant or café is portrayed with pictures of the local and their main vegan dishes. Some of these realities are completely thought for a vegan public; other ones are vegan-friendly.

Happy delicious meals and holidays, vegan friends and readers!

Highly recommended.

This book does what is says on the pack; we get a look inside a good variety of cafes, restaurants, bakeries and sandwich shops in London. All vegan themed.
This is great, as far as it goes, but doesn't give a full review picture. Treat the book as a brochure, carrying well lit photos of strangely deserted cafes and carefully constructed plates of food. While lots of interest is found, like vegan bacon or crumbed jackfruit, you don't see the usual clientele, hear about the busiest times or compare prices. Quite a few meals look like burgers but we also get Japanese, Mexican, desserts and cakes.
I enjoyed the arty photos and I would definitely order some of the meals - I particularly like that P122 shows a market stall at the wonderful Greenwich Market. Tourists would probably do best to keep a copy on the Kindle, so they can dine wherever they find themselves that day, but Londoners might like one on the shelf to browse when they feel like an interesting meal. A couple of helpful maps are at the end.

I downloaded an e-ARC from Net Galley. This is an unbiased review.

An interesting quick guide for locals or visitors of vegan fare in the bristling streets of London. Colorful pictures that include storefront of each restaurant as well as some of the dishes being offered. I like that it includes whether the restaurant is 100% vegan or has a selection of vegetarian options. The handy map where you can find each restaurant is very helpful. A good starter book where to find vegan food. Recommend.

Nothing is worse than having specific dietary needs and traveling to a new place but not knowing where you can go to get a great meal. If you are vegan and taking a trip ‘across the pond’, this book is for you. The author provides great information on the various vegan restaurants available in London and even some of the dishes available for the traveler. However, I would have liked a pricing guide included with the information. For that reason, I will give it four stars instead of five.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that was provided by the publisher through Net Galley. However, the thoughts and opinions presented here are my own.

As someone who lives in the U.S. I can only really jump in this book and dream about London. They have so much to offer and this book definitely pointed that out. I need to get my ticket to London ASAP, because they have so many delicious places that I need to visit!

I can’t wait to visit London and eat at all the places showcased in this book. Now you no longer have to search; she has done it for you. This guide book shows you the restaurants, cafes, and food stores available in the London area for Vegan food. It divided it into your food moods of Quick Bites, Going Global, Date Night, Plant Power, Sweet Treats, and Cafe Culture with beautiful photography, addresses, and websites of each place. Some are 100% Vegan and some are Vegan friendly which helps if you have other people in your group who are not. The Index also is helpful because it organizes the restaurants in groups by location.

Vegan London is a must if you are traveling to London and want vegan options. The book is categorized into different group so if you are searching for a dessert or a nice place for date night you can find it easily. There are also maps at the back showing you where places are and the last two pages are a list of the places broken down into neighborhoods.

I will definitely be taking notes my next trip to London of places to check out.

I requested this book on a whim, it looked pretty and I figured it might be a fun read. Someday I hope to visit London I liked the idea of having an idea of restaurants I would be interested in trying.
Vegan London had lots of beautiful pictures, delightful descriptions and was formatted very well. I really enjoyed my reading experience. There was a lot of variety of restaurants featured and I would definitely take this book with me when I travel. I really liked that after each restaurant was introduced there was a link to their websites.
I will just say that the kindle ARC version of this book was not very well formatted, hopefully the actual book was formatted better. In the end I gave this book 3 stars on Goodreads.
