Description
Advance Reading Copy:
Prior to World War 1, eighteen year old Keagan Cadagan, a poor Irish Catholic girl, secures employment as a housekeeper and nanny in the home of seemingly honest businessman, Ian Flannigan. For reasons unknown to Keagan, the Flannigan family suddenly moves to Springfield, Missouri, taking her with them. Under mysterious circumstances, Keagan is told that she is in danger and must leave the Flannigan home immediately. What follows is the mysterious disappearance of the Flannigan family and the evolving relationship between Keagan and a young man. When the United States enters the war and the scourge of the Influenza Pandemic of 1918 envelops the city, Keagan struggles to maintain her sense of happiness and hope in a home she has learned to love.
