Description

When single mother Haley Renault’s boss, Nicholas Hunter, makes a bet that he’ll get married before his buddy does, Haley sees the perfect opportunity. While Haley is no romantic, she firmly believes her dating app can find anyone—even self-centered, maddening Nick—a perfect match. If she can show Nick the app actually works, then he might approve it, and Haley’s dreams of success could begin. There’s only one hitch. The man Nick presents to the outside world is nothing like the caring, selfless one she’s getting to know—the one she’s starting to fall in love with. Nick loves money and all the power and prestige that comes with it. With a cool million riding on a bet with his buddy, he’s determined to win, and Haley’s dating app is just the advantage he needs. But the app’s matches bore him—they’re only interested in his money. He can’t help but wish they were more like Haley—funny, sexy, intelligent, and a woman who sees the man behind the billions. But just as he realizes Haley just might be his perfect match, the app comes through with his “ideal” woman. It’s a chance—maybe the only chance—to show the world Haley’s app actually works. All Nick wants is Haley, and all Haley wants is for her app to work. It’s a bind all the money in the world can’t fix, and Haley and Nick will have to unravel it before their perfect ‘match’ gets away.

In some ways a cliché story perhaps but so well written in an endearing and realistic way. A crazy chemistry between the two main characters with perhaps stereotypical but no less absorbing conflicts. Single mom, with a kid trying to make a career who falls in love with her boss.

Few things about the story line didn’t appeal to me at the beginning and actually almost made me put the book down, such as guys making bets on who will shack up next with any “hot” female they find. However, as the story unfolded you really got to see the depth of character of both characters and they no longer seemed as trivial and stereotypical. The arrogant rich boy superficial persona was mostly a front and while the main character is gorgeous their interest and chemistry was perfect. Lot of sweet and tender moments and lot of frustration when you are rooting for them to get together but they are both being stubborn.

A nice and light read that is easy to get wrapped up in.

Matchmaking the Billionaire is a short and endearing book featuring a very loveable billionaire boss, Nick. When Nick makes a bet with a friend that he will get married first, he enlists Haley’s help to find matches on the dating app she’s developing. The two have been attracted to each other for a while, but they each have their own reasons for not pursuing anything. But as they spend more time together, it becomes clear that their chemistry and comfortable conversation are not easy to find on an app.

For such a short book, Matchmaking the Billionaire really develops the relationship between the two (much more successfully than the first book in the series). I found Nick to be a great character; he knew all along that he really liked Haley, and even with obstacles in their path, he continued to pursue her. Haley was a little too unsure for my taste, but I could see where she was coming from. This leads events prior to the ending of the book that left a sour taste in my mouth, but I am glad that the couple got their happy ending. Overall, the book is great and I’m happy NetGalley provided me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to the next book in the series!

Nick needs to be the next one to marry in order to win a bet. Haley knew all about it, because she set the bet upon amount. Haley needs her matchmaker app to succeed, so she has to find a wife for Nick using the app. Of course we all know that's not how it all ends. I liked, Matchmaking the Billionaire.

This is a marvelous story about finding your one and only. Looking for your soulmate is full of bumps and bruises. Ups and downs. The author has created a sweet story so heartwarming and stirring that it’ll give you a satisfying warmth deep in your entire being. Ms. North has a way with words that just wraps you up into whatever world she has created. Authentic characters and fantastic, realistic adventures. Her books are not ones you will want to miss.
