Description
Winner of the 2018 PenCraft Award for Literary Excellence
If you believe every story has two sides, and apply that logic to relationships, then it becomes easy to see why some unions are doomed. Icy Roads is the story of a couple who see their marriage differently. Janet is happy, deeply in love and longs to start a family. Paul, her husband, has realized he should have thought past the wedding night. Life should not become a dull, settled routine when you’re young and successful.
An accident causes Janet’s marital house of cards to collapse. Was it karma, God, the man behind the curtain, or Mother Nature, who set in motion the events that night which would change her life and make her question how a person can forgive as God forgives when their heart is crushed, their life upended, and the unequal emotional equation of their marriage is exposed?

Great read. The author wrote a story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in.
This suspenseful novel will keep you on your toes and make you think. Canfield presents us with two different viewpoints and makes us question both. The writing is descriptive, and the topic is intriguing. I can't say enough good things about this book!
The book “Icy Roads” shows the reader that life is as slippery as an “Icy Road” once one starts down a road of lies. It is a story of friendship and betrayal that will keep the reader turning pages trying to find out what happens next.
Interesting take on an auto accident and it's effects on everyone involved including their family and friends. One friend, the investigating officer just happens to be a friend of the driver of the car that caused the accident. I think we just never think of the effect that investigating an auto accident that results in fatalities, has on the authorities involved. It was hard to read about the injuries caused by careless driving on icy roads. Sad story, but uplifting also, reading about the ultimate acceptance of what occurred and the changes that started to take place with the survivors. Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the opportunity to read the advanced copy..
