This was the first time I've read a book by Melinda Curtis and it will definitely not be the last! This book made me laugh, cry, and read way too late when I should have gone to bed but I just couldn't make myself put it down. I can't wait to see whose story she'll write next for the next book in the Sunshine Valley series

A cute story that gives a good glimpse of how small town life really is. Melinda shows a great deal of knowledge about forgiveness with the way she wrote this story.

I read and really enjoyed the Christmas Wish earlier this year. When I saw a new book by Melinda Curtis in the same Sunshine Valley, I was so excited to read. I was not disappointed. Can't Hurry Love is funny and heartwarming and those Widow's club ladies are just so much fun. I really enjoyed watching Lola learn through her grief and discover what matters to her and to her life through finding her late husband's past. I love that her lessons made her brave and strong and dig deep into herself and all of those things led her to Drew.

This is a perfect read for those who enjoy cute, small-town romances with absolutely delightful lead characters. Lola and Drew serve that purpose perfectly in this book. Drew, a single dad, town sheriff, lives with his daughter, Becky who is an absolutely adorable girl. Lola, recently widowed, moved from NYC to a small town in Colorado, finds out that her dead husband had cheated her for some time. Now she wants to find out more and is looking for closure.

Drew and Lola have that sparkling chemistry right away but keep away from each other for various practical reasons. This chemistry was both interesting and adorable though there is not any steam. Lola has this unpredictable and fun element in her which made her a character with never a dull moment. Drew is the perfect man every woman wants - sturdy, loyal, caring and everything. The matchmakers of the small town are cute and entertaining as usual even when they are interfering and trying to help second chance romances in their town. When Drew’s ex-wife came back in his life, I expected some major drama but I felt it ended up rather too quickly.

I understand there are always other characters in such plots but I felt there were some bits and pieces that were not necessary especially the whole pig related portion. There is a lot of drama involving Lola making her the soul of the book. I liked her characterization and enjoyed the witty sarcastic banter between her and Drew.

I totally enjoyed this cute and entertaining small-town romance!

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this advanced reader copy.

A quirky, no steam read about small town life, love, forgiveness and finding love again. I loved the quirkiness of the story telling and the characters with my favorite being Becky. There was lots of drama but I found it a little slow moving for me. There is also the bonus of a no steam short story by another author that was a cute read.

Can’t Hurry Love is a fun-loving story full of humor that actually helps the characters through underlying conflicts and lots of anger. Lola, widow to Randy, finds that she didn’t know a lot of secrets he hid during their marriage. Drew has an ex-wife that has returned to try and get custody of their six-year-old daughter, Becky, both of who were abandoned when Becky was three-months old. As sheriff, he becomes quite unpopular with quite a few people in town. And plenty of the residents aren’t very pleased with Lola, either. I really enjoyed it. The novella, Kiss Me in Sweetwater was just pure lovely. I now want to read the full books in this series. [I received this book for free through the author and NetGalley and my opinion is my own.]
