Okay so, I would seriously buy this journal just for the visuals alone. I am a sucker for pretty things! The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous! They make my soul feel warm and fuzzy. There is a special energy inside these pages which I can only imagine must be 100x stronger with the real thing, I really wish this book was available for purchase right now! Not all of the questions resonated with me personally and I'm not sure if I'd ever actually write in this book and use it for that purpose, but I approve of the overall message it is trying to send. This journal is for those who aren't afraid to face their true selves.
The book sounds awesome! Unfortunately, I couldn't even open this on my computer. And opening on the computer wouldn't make it pleasant to read. I'd prefer if it were available for ebook readers. It might be a nice paperback. Well, good luck.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this precious book. I love love love the visual aspect of it and I think it would make a beautiful present for a struggling loved one ( even if that it’s yourself at the moment ). Definitely see myself picking this up on a rough day to remind me that my problems are only as big as I let them be. ( also I’m living for the motivational snakes ).
Adorable and surprisingly touching.
This book will definitely appeal to dot journalists and other list-minded creatives. I could not spend enough time looking at the illustrations, which were so vibrant with colors. I found the exercises overall to be thought provoking and not too twee, which is sometimes a problem with books like this.
Completing this journal definitely won't fix everything in your life, but it could definitely give you a place to start.
Can I start by saying how absolutely beautiful the book is?
The graphics are amazing. They are so calming, I wish I had this in hardcover instead of a digital copy.
The journal itself is very well constructed. The questions are illuminating and great prompts to start thinking.
I love it when books allow me to move ahead in my life and this one is doing just that.
Definitely recommended.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley
What a lovely and engaging book this is. Not sure what to expect from the cover and title but found it to be a little gem. Will definitely be looking to purchase this in hardback when its out. Loved the simplicity of it but also the awareness it provokes. A great book for children, teens and adults alike.
Any book that helps to bring awareness to things that need an element of attention is a winner for me. Beautiful artwork that helps and supports the flow of the journal.
Highly recommended.
Thank you Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley.
A cute book with interesting idea and amazing illustration.
I'd like to have in paper and use it as diary.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
This is a great journal for self-reflection and goal setting. It would be a wonderful holiday gift and a great way to start a new year. The illustrations were beautiful, the questions just probing enough. It's a good start in taking a deep-dive into who you are and what you believe about yourself.
The Magic of Mindset by Johanna Wright has helpful prompts for journaling to get unstuck. I liked the illustrations, and the prompts were all good questions. Some of the cursive words were hard to read.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book would be a nice gift for someone who is seeking self-knowledge, including you if this is something that appeals. The Magic of Mindset is a guided journal with room for reflection and your own thoughts. For example, you may be prompted to think about somewhere that you feel stuck or talking to your future self about a way that you would like to succeed. There are also many affirmations and words of encouragement.
There are undoubtedly other guided journals out there but there may not be one as gorgeous as this. The artwork is so beautiful!
Of note: This title could also be a resource that a therapist and patient/client could talk about together.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
As someone who loves journals and journaling, this book does not disappoint. I have to say that the imagery was simply stunning. That alone makes me adore this book. along with the thought-provoking prompts. Definitely a must read! I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
I got a digital review copy of this book via NetGalley. There are many books about mindsets, heck I have written one as well. But there are a few that stand out. This is one of them.
What I like about the book:
- The sheer beauty and simplicity of the book. Johanna takes a complex subject and simplifies it in such a way as to not loose its essence and yet simple enough for anyone to grasp it.
- One of the success metrics I have for a book is whether or not it makes the readers think and take action. This book succeeds in this metric beyond a doubt. The questions and prompts that she gives for us to think about the complex topics are simple, provocative and most importantly effective.
What i think could have been better:
- The only thing that i can think of that could have been better is for her to go a bit more deeper on the topic.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to go out and transform their lives, one belief and one mindset at a time.
A rich and engaging, thought-provoking and colorful series of prompts from in-sticking one’s self from whatever ding, dang ails them. The book includes opportunities for discovery, reflection, planning, and contemplation through a variety of upbeat and focused ways.
~This ARC has been gently provided in exchange of an honest review~
This is such a beautifully illustrated book! The author explains through her illustrations and clear messages how to achieve mindfulness. She invites us to follow different steps in order to reflect upon our deepest feelings and emotions. The Magic of Mindset is also a journal; you can write down all the reflections you are supposed to make through the journey of mindfulness. This is something I really liked, because I think that in order to achieve this kind of goal we need a different approach.
Finally, I just can say that I quite enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
the Magic of Mindset is a great journal with beautiful illustrations. This would make a great book for anyone who loves to journal.
I love the concept of this book. Not much of a practitioner of witchcraft or Wiccan, I thought I would see how it would work for a friend of mine, and after looking through it with her I plan on ordering her a copy as soon as I can. She loved the whole layout, the art, and the topics as a whole.
Thanks for letting me review., cannot wait to order it for her.
Because I received a digital copy to review I can not comment on the quality of the paper on which this is printed, or how well your pen will slide along the pages. The images and quotes within the book are quite magical and whimsical. This book will appeal to young journalers as well as those young at heart.
The quotes are very nice. The author gives just enough additional advice to help the reader find a few words to start writing as much or as little as they choose and feel comfortable with.
The Magic of Mindset by Johanna Wright is a healing journey that has easy to follow directions so the reader is going to reach their destination: self-awareness.
It is beautifully illustrated and each image correlates with empowering and uplifting quotes so the reader is genuinely enveloped in feelings of warmth.
Johanna unlocks the door to healing and self-love by using creative magical tasks for the reader to complete daily, or anytime for that matter. She does a beautiful job of making a hard task like self-forgiveness and self-love become easy and accessible for anyone who follows along.
This self-help guide is definitely recommended for anyone who wants to create a more meaningful, loving, and mindful life.
Thank you Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC.
I loved this gorgeous journal, it is the perfect gift to yourself for the new decade ahead.
Gorgeously illustrated with wonderful prompts to encourage the reader to encourage to consider and adopt ways of living from a more positive mindset. I loved the prompts and how they built upon one narthex for deeper journal work.
I highly recommend this beautiful little book.
I thoroughly enjoyed the journal prompts to identify and foster a mindset. They are different, and more thoughtful than ones I've seen before. I do have this as an ebook, which is not an ideal format. I just wrote the prompts in a journal, but I would buy this as a physical book for a gift. (This was a free ARC from NetGalley; Opinions are mine.)
As someone who works in a school that is actively working to promote growth mindset thinking in both our student body and our faculty/staff, I found this book very helpful. It is winsome and practical all at once, providing a creative space for the reader to work on their own thinking patterns. I've been able to modify several of the prompts for use in our classrooms and I think it is a great tool for educators!
Well written and easy to read and follow along. I am a beginner and found it had a great amount of information that a beginner or someone with more skill would still enjoy and gain information from. I would recommend to my patrons
This book seems absolutely beautiful and enchanting. I love the idea behind it and the artwork is so whimsical and great! Unfortunately, I have been unable to find the link to open this on my computer and therefore I wasn't able to read through the book itself. This is to no fault of the publishers and I believe it is a misplacement of the email on my end. I plan to seek out a physical copy of my own in the future! Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Magic of Mindset by Johanna Wright is a delightful journal and creativity guide to help you cultivate mindfulness, and change your behaviour and ways of thinking, to assist in personal growth. The artwork is utterly charming! I loved the little snakes all throughout. Snakes are a perfect symbol of growth and transformation since they shed the old and emerge anew each year. And if you've ever kept snakes or observed the entire shedding process, you'll know that, just as with personal inner growth, it isn't necessarily easy. The journal is stuffed with prompts and creativity challenges to help with a wide range of components related to growth and change. Highly recommended!
***Many thanks to the Netgalley & Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
'The Magic of Mindset' is a beautifully illustrated journal, in a way, that encourages its readers to answer difficult questions while surrounded by a sense of calm. The colourfulness but also calmness of the illustrations really furthered my understanding of the points that Johanna Wright was making.
This would make a beautiful gift, both for yourself or for others.
Great activities, a lovely read.
I have enjoyed the contents a lot, even though aince I have had the ebook version, I had to get a bit creative with the actual activities.
I would recommend it to those looking to go a bit deeper with some external help.
