Description

A driven female cop teams up with an irresistible ex-con to bring a killer to justice.

Chicago homicide detective Camille Martell is obsessed with tracking down “Angel,” a sexual predator who has killed his victims—even after her off-the-books investigation leads to her suspension. But when her attempt to contact Angel online puts her teenage neighbor in mortal danger, Camille is overwhelmed with guilt. She needs help—even if it comes from the one man who’d been a weekend obsession she’d vowed to forget.

After serving time for hitting a prosecutor who wasn’t doing his job, Drago Nance, now a private investigator, doesn’t trust the justice system. Nothing will change that, not even the weekend with Camille burned into his memory. But he can’t ignore the need in Camille’s eyes, nor the innocent young girl whose life is on the line. He agrees to help, but he makes Camille play by his rules and finds that his obsession with her is as strong as his need to stop the predator from killing again.

I've never read a book by this author but I was surprised. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres to read. Obsession by Patricia Rosemoor has everything I wanted in a book, it was full of intrigue, mystery, and passion. If you want to lose a couple nights of sleep then please read this book. It is worth it.

I usually shy away from "Romantic Suspense" titles. I'm sure glad that I didn't do so this time!

A thoroughly enjoyable read with excellent character depiction. The plot keeps moving steadily. A real "can't put down" book. I live in Chicago, so I enjoyed the references to the streets and neighborhoods - of course!

Detective Camille Martell is obsessed with the disappearance of her 14 year old neighbor (Sandy) who walks Camille's dog .Camille had been following a man on the internet called "Angel" who is responsible for the disappearance and subsequent deaths of at least two women. Now, Camille is on leave from the force after she had found her OWN leads and took action to find Sandy, alone.

Camille goes to an ex-cop (and friend), Justus,
who is now a PI, for help. Of course, his brother, Drago, had a wonderful weekend affair with Camille 4 years ago and he never called her back. Drago had also been in jail, too - and has a reputation for skirting the law at times...

Lots of twists and tension! This suspense story is a great read across a number of genres.

Many Thanks to Dangerous Love Publishing and NetGalley for a wonderful read!

3 1/2 Star Review....

Obsession is another example of Patricia Rosemoor’s talent for creating suspense and intrigue, while incorporating a complex romantic element with some angst and drama along the way. On occasion I felt that the chemistry between Camille and Drago lacked substance, but overall the storyline was good and it was an easy and enjoyable read.

And that got her put on administrative leave. She goes to her old mentor, who is now a private investigator; and enters her weekend fling, Drago Nance. Camille, doesn’t trust him at all. While in the hunt for Angel, these two discover that their chemistry is still the same and strong. And for Drago, the past may not be the past. Will someone hatred for him, take away the love of his life? Will they find out who Angel really is and save other girls from the same fate?

Another great book from a romantic suspense writer than always brings her A game to the table and this one is no exception There is plenty of suspense and drama and more than a little romance This keeps you turning the pages until that last page

This author seems to draw me in right away every time I see one of her books. Camille will take you on her trip of obsession. She is after a killer so intrigue will be pulling you forward. Her obsession will lead her down a heavy road that she can not do this by herself. You then get Drago in the picture and things really heat up in different ways. He finds he now has a obsession. We readers will find we do too in having to get the answers and see where this goes.

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

Beautiful cover, by the way....and definitely an eye catcher. Detective Camille is after a killer, an online chat room is hunting grounds for a serial murderer who names himself Angel. After a mistake on Camilles part an innocent is taken by the killer, and Camille puts all her effort into solving the case.

What did I like? Drago and Camille have some intense chemistry, and seemingly a sordid history. It all boils down to how far Camille will go to right the wrongs of the chaos that Angel causes. The story was well written and loved the karma ending!

Would I recommend or buy? Oh, yea. This wasn’t a hard read, and quite enjoyable. I really enjoyed Camille, and Drago was spot on. He was caught up in the magic of Camille and I can’t say I blame him.

Thoughts for the author? Great story! I enjoyed it! Does Justus get a book? Would read from you again!

This was a suspenseful, wildly romantic ride as two people, a hard-nosed cop and an ex-con turned private investigator, join together to take down a serial killer. On the way, they find a second chance at true love. I loved the author's intensity and the way she crafted her dastardly characters. I would recommend it to anyone who loves romantic mysteries. I received an advanced reader's copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

I'm fairly new to this author and have read about 4 of her books so far. This is normally not my genre at all but I absolutely love both author and books

Loved the characters and story - a great thriller / mystery with romance thrown in - I have to read these all in one go - I just can't put them down once I start

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I usually love books by this author but this one took me a long time to really get into it. There was quite a bit of drama that kept my attention and interest but the romance between Drago and Camille was slow to start even after their past encounter.!

I think part of what I didn't like was that we had to wait so long into the book to find out more about Drago's prison time and the why. Since I like to have answers, it was frustrating for me to keep waiting and the fact that Camille never asked "why" or even seemed to want more information about the history behind it. We even learn that there was a very good reason that Drago's brother left him in jail and didn't bail him out

I did like that at the end, Camille didn't let Drago hid away and went after him! I hope that we see more with these characters as we didn't see much of Drago's brother, Justus, or the new employee, Eva.
