This was an excellent thriller that kept me on my toes the whole time. Exquisite character development and tons of surprises make it an entertaining and insightful read.

Twisty like a tornado. A clever whodunit. A must read of 2020.
Celia and Brian are celebrating their years of successful marriage and therefore they've planned to give a party at the house and Andrew, her ex son in law and Caroline, his wife are also invited. Although Louise, Andrew's first wife didn't like the idea. She's living with her mom and has two children, Bella and Tolly. She has a brother Luke and a sister in law, Min.
Andrew is found dead at the day of the party. Then the story goes in starting and one after another twists started to unravel.
Andrew is not what he seems and nkr are Louise and Caroline. I must say that each and every character in this story is twisted. At first I thought after reading one twist that I've read such stories before but I was proved wrong when that final revelation came. This is a work of a genius mind. I would definitely recommend this masterpiece psychological thriller to everyone.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for giving me an advance copy of this amazing psychological thriller.
Having read Tess Stimson’s previous books, I was looking forward to this one and it doesn’t disappoint.
When Andrew is found dead at a family party with both his wife and ex-wife standing over him, the police believe one of them murdered him, but which one? Furthermore, how can they prove it when they both deny they had anything to do with it?
An excellent fast paced story which was an enjoyable read.
I flew through this one!!! Please make more like it. I already recommended this to friends. I will read this one again .
This is the first book I've read by Tess Stimson and it definitely won't be the last. Its one of the best books I've read in ages and I literally couldn't put it down. There were lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing right until the very end and if you liked "Girl on a train" you should definitely read this.
The blurb of this book definitely caught my attention. When the wife and ex wife of Andrew are questioned over his murder, who did it? The book spans backwards to a few week previously up to the climax of Louise's Mum's birthday party. Louise was married to Andrew for over ten years when he left her just after their baby boy was born for Caz.
Caz and Andrew have a son as well, and on the surface the two women get along fine, but when no-one is around that is definitely not the case as the two women are trying to score points, neither wanting to be the loser.
There was an amazing twist to this book that makes it a great read.
Thanks to Netgalley for a preview of this book. It was very exciting and I really enjoyed it. The characters were likeable and although the plot was a little slow initially it got going.
My first book by this author and I was very impressed. Although I thought the book started quite slowly it soon gained pace and was a great psychological read with likeable characters and a intense plot. I will definitely look to read more by this author. Highly recommend.
One in three is a complex psychological thriller that takes you on a convoluted journey that leads to murder, complex family dynamics are at the fore of this book, very relevant as so many families are now made up of step parents and siblings. The twists and turns keep you guessing and Are surprising. The characters are all diverse with some being more likeable than others but I particularly liked Bella and the fact that many teenage angsts were tackled in a sensitive tender manner! Caz played the part of the stereotypical wicked stepmother well although she also displayed a genuine empathy for teenage Bella!
Overall a good read to keep you entranced
Thank you netgalley for this early read.
This was a very entertaining read . Not having read any of Tess's other books I wasn't sure what to expect .
The story really is about two women and the man in the centre of their lives . Louise is the ex wife , Caz the current wife , as their efforts to point score against each other really gets going you get the story from both of them . The book starts with a murder and then back tracks to the weeks leading up to it . Andy the guy in question is an absolute sleaze but neither woman can see it , and I found myself getting madder that no one was taking him to task . That being said it was a great fast paced read that I finished in afternoon . Will certainly seek more out from this author .
This was such a good read. I absolutely devoured it in a day. I was absorbed immediately and could not get through it fast enough. Highly recommended! Can't wait for the next book by Tess Stimson.
Hands down this is one of the best books I’ve read so far this year! I instantly felt as though I knew the characters and could sympathize with them all. All except Andrew, he was slimy from the first! OIT had everything a domestic/psychological thriller lover could want... unreliable narrators, dark plot, twists galore, etc. Read in one sitting! Will recommend to others!
OMG this book is fantastic, loads of twists and turns so you don’t know how it’s going to end! Complex flawed characters throughout the book, showing how you never really know what someone is capable of, how far they will go, and how love can utterly twist your perspective!! Absolutely loved it. I‘ve read a fair few of Tess Stimson’s books over the years and this I think is one of her best!! Off to read her old books now. Get your hands on a copy of this, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for letting me review this book. Raced through it.
One in Three is a great psychological thriller that covers all the good stuff! Great characters and thick plot! Definitely recommend this book!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Omgggg what a book!! Absolutely loved it!! From start to finish I could not put it down. I loved this author's other books so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed and I was definitely not. Do not pass this book by I can promise you will love it as I did.
Omg full of twists and turns. Being the ex and watching the new family was heart wrenching but frightening at the same time
Well I’ll be damned with this unputdownable thriller about an ex-wife, a current wife, and current wife’s husband, who is murdered at a party for the ex-wife’s mom and dad. I was gripped and found the twists uncomfortable and shocking! I had no idea where it was going, and found Tess Stimson’s writing gripping, shocking, and completely engrossing.
Thank you to author Tess Stimson, Avon Books UK, and NetGalley for an ARC.
Another great book by Tess Stimson. There are lots of twists to keep the story going. Well worth a read
One in three is a story of jealousy, vengeance and resentment. Full of spectacular twists and turns that will keep you shell shocked and also struggle to put this rollercoaster of a ride story down.
Imagine your husband that you have built of your hopes and dreams with, the person you bare all of yourself to, the man you're deeply in love with leaves you for another woman to start a new life... you would be devastated...
Imagine the man you are in love with, the one you have a child with still allows his ex wife to imprint and control every part of your life by interfering and dictating your every move. You would eventually feel resentful wouldn't you??
Both woman love the same man but aren't ready to let him go, and one of them may just snap to get what they want.
A big thank you to netgalley for a copy of this wonderful book in exchange for my honest review. This was my first novel from Tess Stimson and it was outstanding!
This is my first book by Tess Stimson and I will certainly read more. The storyline was captivating and held my attention all the way through. Well done and thank you for allowing me to read it!
I absolutely loved this book! I centers around Louise and Caroline (Caz), both having been married to the same man, Andrew (Louise up until 4 years ago and Caz currently). The book starts out with Andrew's death and both wives present, but without the context to know who actually did it. The rest of the book leads up to that point, with chapters alternating between Louise's and Caz's points of view. I love an unreliable narrator and this story nails it!
The entire book is wrought with tension, continually shifting each one's version of truth to the point where I changed my mind frequently about who the villain was. The characters were extremely well developed, to the point where even the least likeable of characters deserved a little empathy as the book went on,. There were a lot of characters, and it took me the first couple chapters to get everyone's connections with each other straight, but it was totally worth it. My only teeny nit with the book is that I did never figure out why "Min" was called that when that wasn't close to her real name, but I may just have missed it somewhere.
When it gets down to who actually killed Andrew, I changed my mind a multitude of times and was still shocked when I found out what really happened. The author does a fantastic job of planting the seeds and giving them just enough credibility for you to believe them, before shifting to something else. After all that happens, the culmination of the story is satisfying and also pretty much believable.
Go read this book- you won't be sorry! I woke up extra early on a weekend morning to finish it because I had to see what happened. I hope that Tess Stimson has written some other books; if so, I am going to buy them now.
Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this.... took me about 10% to get my head around the characters.. who was who etc then I happily sailed through it!!!! Fast paced and interesting with many twists along the way!!! Wasn’t expecting that ending at all....
WOW!!! Absolutely LOVED this book. I haven't read any off tess stimson before but I definitely will again. Already got The Mother to read.
Andrew is married to Caz and they have a son Kit. He divorced Louise. 4 years ago, they have a daughter Bella and a son Tolly.
Louise still loves Andrew and Caz always feels second best. Celia, louises mum, invites Andrew Caz and kit to her party. The story is told from each perspective and youre never really sure which one to believe. Louise and Caz are stuck in a feud, resulting in Andrews murder. But who did it?
Absolutely gripping, kept guessing until the end and I was still looking for more. Wasn't ready for it to end.
Thank you netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Yikes!! I don’t believe I’ve read this author before but I definitely will again. I loved this book. It was well written, told from multiple viewpoints, and near impossible to figure out until the end. Read this book, you’ll be glad you did. Other than the fact that you’ll get NOTHING done until you’re able to finish it. It will absorb you from the absolute beginning until the very last page.
Louis and Caz. The ex-wife and the current wife.
One never really let go, and the other never stopped feeling like she was second-best.
4 years after Louise and Andrew's divorce, the two women are still fighting for Andrew's attention.
When Andrew is found dead, both are strong suspects.
Both loved him but did one of them kill him?
The story, following Louise and Caz's first-person perspectives, is entwined with Louise's friend, Min's occasional point of view as well as the transcript of the police interviews.
It was my first book by Tess Stimson, and I wasn't disappointed.
I loved how the two women's opposite perspectives kept me guessing who to believe. It was an instantly gripping read that ticked, in my opinion, the most important box; it had me racing through the pages, unable to put it down.
I found the narration really engaging but think that Min's point of view didn't add anything new to the story and could have been omitted altogether.
Overall, it was a fast-paced and thrilling read that will keep you guessing till the end and even after you think you know everything, you'll be presented with yet another twist.
I highly recommend it.
A fantastic read - and one that does keep you guessing until the end ( and I would say beyond the end almost!) but with three unreliable narrators, what are you to expect?
A pacey domestic thriller which is easy to read and really packs a punch- thanks netgalley for the ARC :)
A slow burning thriller that kept me on my toes. I had no idea where the book was going. Whose side am I on? Who’s innocent? Who’s guilty? The way the author pretty much “dropped the mic” at the end with that stunner was excellent. I think the finished copy will be a winner.
I was utterly delighted to read an advance copy of ‘One in Three’, in exchange for an honest review, as Tess Stimson is an author whose work I utterly adore! She consistently delivers a fantastic read, and this, her latest novel, is certainly no exception!
This unique and deliciously twisty thriller is the perfect binge read!
The novel focuses on the relationship between Louise, ex wife of Andrew, and his second wife, Caz. We discover very early on that one of these 2 women, (or a third - hence the title!) is responsible for committing a heinous crime. Motives come thick and fast, while the clever use of smoke and mirrors make this a very satisfying read. I found the character development to be excellent, all of whom I could relate to and largely care about. I don’t want to give too much way away so I will just say giving this one 5 stars is a no brainer! Definitely worth a read!
New author for me an absolutely terrific read.A book that grabbed me kept me reading late into the night.Highly recommend looking forward to reading more by this author.#netgalley#avonbooksuk
This book tells the stories of Caz, Andrew's wife, and Louise, his ex-wife, moving between them to tell the story from their point of view. Caz and Louise do not get on - Louise still loves her ex-husband and hates Caz for taking him from her, while Caz is sure Louise is out to get her for being married to her ex-husband. As each woman starts to try to find ways to undermine each other, they may just find secrets about the man they married... When Andrew is found murdered, both women are found standing over the body... but who killed him?
This was the first book I've read by Tess Stimson and I really enjoyed it. The plot was thrilling and kept you guessing, with plenty of twists and turns (which I love!). I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, and couldn't stop reading until I found out what really happened.
Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in return for my honest feedback.
I stayed up until four in the morning because I could not put this book down. It was well written, suspenseful, and had so many twists and turns.
Louise is the ex-wife to Andrew and Caz is the mistress turned current wife. The first chapter tells us about the murder of Andrew. The rest of the book is told with alternating POV’s and explains the tumultuous relationship between everyone. You begin to learn their history and what has made Caz and Louise so spiteful to each other. Just when you think you’ve figured out who killed Andrew there’s another great twist. love books that keep me guessing and this certainly did until the very end!
4.9/5.0 rounding it to 5.0 stars!
This is actually an interesting story! I am really getting hype into Mystery/Thriller since most of the books I've read recently from NetGalley are great! I never expected to read 3 good mystery/thriller in a row! WOhoooo.
The story starts with Celia's invitation to Louise's ex-husband Andrew and his wife Caz. I have made a lot of assumptions about the story. The women seems to have all the motives since that's how the author put shade in both of them. It's actually really engaging and it's making me really curious.
There are a lot of POV here. There's Louise, Caz, Min and Celia. It's a great set of POV that gives you a lot of idea as to what is going on.
The ending is P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!! I could never imagine another fitting ending. The reason why I like Mystery/Thriller is to be on the killer's POV. To know the reason why they do what they do or kill whom they want to kill. Guess what? I am very satisfied with what happen. I totally agree with the killer. If I am in her shoe, I would have done the same. Oopps.
Why didn't I give full 5 stars? It's only for one thing. The book has a lot of missing letters in a word. I have no idea why. They are most letters "f" and the vowels before or after that. Then I would need to fill the gaps and imagine which words the author really means. I have never stumbled upon such issue in all of the books I've requested but it's kind of making me annoyed sometimes.
Full review will be up on my website https://inkly.in SOON.
Ooo y’all this was such a good surprise! Definitely was impressed with this novel and the storyline was phenomenal.
My first book by Tess Stimson and it will definitely not be my last! Great read full of twists and turns. Couldn't put this one down and was not ready for it to end. Highly recommend!
Thank you to netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to #netgalley and #avon books uk for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. My first time reading a book from Tess Stimson and it won't be my last. This book had me hooked from the start. It kicks off with the murder of the huband and his current and ex wife are both discovered with his body. We always know the wife did it, but in this case which one did it, ex or current?! The ex wife still has strong feelings for her ex husband and doesn't seem to like his current wife Caz or seeing how happy he appears to be with her. Suspensefully written with some plot twists I did not anticipate, a great read. #tessstimson #oneinthree #netgalley #avonbooksuk #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #litsy #bookstagram #bookqueen #greatreads #amazon#kindle
I was supposed to put a 4 star rating but the spelling/grammatical error infuriated me, because it was only centered on words with FL or FI; it was missing it! Like the word “floor” would be oor. It was annoying. .
Anyway, the story was a classic “who-dun-it”. But as there are a lot of people who had the motive, you’ll be guessing till the end. .
It’s an entertaining and a fast read, finished it in a sitting.
I’ll definitely check out more of the authors’ books
Thank you to NetGalley, publisher and author for this advanced reading copy. I'm so sad; I only got as far as about 10% of the story but could not go on reading. The reason is, book was full of grammatical errors that were extremely distracting. To be fair, all I read was very engaging and I was looking forward to the resolution of this story. I really liked the narration style, which didn't take me to long to decide. I will give this book 4 stars because even though I did not finish it, the book had me hooked. On the other hand, I can't give it 5 stars because I did not finish it and it doesn't feel fair. As soon as it is available I plan to buy the finished version - hopefully with no grammatical errors. I need to know how this story ends. This is my first book from this author and I look forward to reading more from her.
Absolutely fantastic read. My first by this author but definitely wont be the last.
This has been gripping and engaging and a book which I have not been able to put down. I have devoured this in just one sitting.
Highly enjoyed this who done it thriller. There is lots more drama then I'm use to but it was definitely kept me wanting to read more.
Andrew is murdered at his ex mother in law's golden anniversary party. The drama unfolds as we learn the dark secrets of his wife and ex-wife.
I don't want to give anything away but I can see this being a summer must read. One negative is all the errors!!! Please fix them. There is so many I almost didn't even finish reading but thankfully I was hooked on the story. It's not Grammer it's almost like a glitch or something. Words are missing the first few let's or aren't spaced correctly.
A very good read - I’m usually pretty good with mysteries, but this one has me guessing until the end! The dialogue was very well written - made you feel like you were there and with the characters.
Firstly a big thank you to Avon for accepting my request to read on netgalley.
This book is amazing! I highly recommend if you like your thrillers twisty and unpredictable.
This had so many twists and turns it was like a rollercoaster ride . Written with layers that keep unravelling right up to the last page.
Toxic characters equal addictive reading !
A dark read that gets darker and captivates you to read on.
Cleverly written and plotted.
This book was so good!! I really enjoy thrillers and I have not had a thriller engross me as much as this one did for a while! 5 stars!
A psychological thriller with a neat plot and twists till the conclusion. I like stories with strong female characters rather than ones fighting over a man like teenagers. Barring that I enjoyed the story and finished the book in one day.
The blurb about this book really caught my attention. This was a classic whodunit which was fantastic. I really also liked the twist at the end! I enjoyed the multiple perspectives. I love books with multiple perspectives. Great read!
This is the first book in a while that truly had me gripped, right from the very first page. I loved the way I didn’t know what was going to happen, and it left me thinking about the story long after it had finished. I would recommend this book to anyone!
I received an eARC of One in Three by Tess Stimson from Avon Books UK and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
5 STARS!!!! I could not put this one down and had to find out how it ended. Binge read? YES!!! Very well written and full of suspense. Highly recommend!!!
This book was phenomenal. I pride myself on being a fantastic sofa detective, always sniffing out (or feeling like I've sniffed out) the killer in all the crime books I read, and there are a lot of them, but not this one. One In Three delivered twist after twist, constantly surprising me with the nuggets of information we receive from our two main unreliable/biased narrators.
I've never read a book with this structure before. Each chapter focused on a different characters point of view with police interview transcripts scattered throughout. We start with the murder and our two main suspects, the wife and the ex-wife, standing over the body. After this we jump back in time, learning about our main suspects lives leading up to that night. It works really well in building up the pace and tension.
I adore crime novels, they've always been my favourite genre and One in Three absolutely blew me away. It is unlike any crime novel I've read before and I stayed up until the early hours of the morning to get through this one! A definite must-read!
If fast paced, twisty, dark psychological thrillers are your thing then you need to read this book. From the first page Tess Stimson sinks her teeth in to your with her characters and extremely engaging plot, it's a grip that has you quickly turning the pages at a rapid pace to see what happens next.
It's a book you cannot help but read in one or two settings.
This is the first book I've read by this author but it certainly won't be the last! I enjoyed the story immensely and found myself alternately disliking/liking each character a little more with each chapter. A brilliant ending with just enough of a twist to make it believable.
In 'One in Three' we follow the story of Louise who is still adjusting to life as a divorced mother following the departure of husband Andrew, who left her for his mistress Caz. Four years after this life changing event Louise is still struggling to reach a place of acceptance of Andrew's new life, wife and 2nd family which becomes even more difficult when Louise's mother and father invite (an invitation completely instigated by mum Celia who is the classic controlling matriarch of the family) Andrew, Caz and their child to celebrate their wedding anniversary at a remote and elegant hotel.
The story opens with both the wife and the ex-wife standing over the body of a bloodied and dead Andrew and then takes us back through the weeks leading up to the event and covers the perspectives of both Louise and Caz as well a Police interview transcripts as the story unfolds. I loved the fact that all perspectives were somewhat unreliable at times and really highlighted the fact that so many situations and memories are entirely subjective depending on the narrator's bias.
I am a huge crime/thriller fan and quite often see plot twists and outcomes well in advance however I could not have predicted the twists and ending of this story such is the writer's skill in weaving a twisted tale.
The only flaw for me (and really nothing to do with the book itself!) was that the uncorrected proof I received had missing letters throughout the entire book. As other reviewers have also said this I presume this was an issue with the proof and, as stated, has nothing whatsoever to do with the quality of the writing but maybe one for the publishers to look at as it was slightly irritating.
Overall a huge 4.5 stars from me and thanks to Netgalley UK and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I eagerly look forward to the next book from Tess Stimson!
Whoa! Talk about a twisted love triangle.
This story begins with a murder and then follows the stories of Caz (the current wife) and Louise (the ex wife) over the days and weeks leading up to said murder.
This book is seriously intense! I know that they say that there are at least two sides to every story, but this story seemed to have about 5. I couldn't even figure out who the villain was.
I seriously could not put this book down and finished it in no time.
Do yourself a favor and read it yourself. In the meantime, I'm going to see what else this author has to offer.
4.5 stars rounded up ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Special thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books UK for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
At first you think this a story of a classic love triangle between Andrew, his ex-wife Louise, and his current wife Caz, but soon you’ll realize it is so much more complicated than that. Andrew is found dead in his hotel room and just when you think you have figured out who killed him, Stimson will keep you guessing ‘til the very end. After all, memory is not as reliable as we think it is…
This is about a twisted love triangle between a man and his current wife and his ex-wife. The husband ends up dead. Who killed him?
.
It is completely toxic and continues to devolve as each woman takes each attack to the next level. You really have no idea who is actually good, bad or crazy throughout the whole book. It’s told from multiple points of view, and you are unsure who is reliable.
.
I highly recommend this book to fans of domestic drama, psychological warfare, conniving characters and scheming vendettas.

Thank you @netgalley and @avon_books for allowing me to review this book
This was a rollercoaster ride. It starts with two women covered in blood and then goes back to six weeks before. Louise is the first wife and Caz Is the second wife both in love with Andrew. What begins with the wives trying to score points against one another soon descends into more drastic moves. You’re not sure whether either wife is particularly sympathetic or that Andrew is worth fighting for but you’re hooked to try and figure out their next move.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the characters even if I didn’t particularly like them. Definitely worth a read! Thanks to Avon books and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Andrew is caught in a love battle. Louise is the bitter ex-wife who refuses to move on with her life. Caz, is the new wife who will always be second best. These women go above and beyond to outdo each other in vying for Andrews’s love and attention, no matter who gets hurt. But is Andrew truly worth all of this stress?
I found this book to be wildly entertaining, a bit embellished, but still left me fully engaged.
I quickly finished this book in one setting because it kept getting better and better. So many secrets and twists were revealed to make you question which woman to love or hate. Their crazy antics and sneakiness left me wondering who’s right and who’s wrong, and who’s hiding what. Definitely a wild ride!
The only thing I didn’t like was that there were multiple editing mistakes throughout my copy that made it difficult for a smooth read. Nevertheless, this was my first of many books by this author!
Oof. Really clever whodunnit that opens with a grisly death and slowly unravels the truth about the women who all have motives to kill. Absolutely brilliant pacing. The reveals are perfect, highly recommend.
First of all thank you to Avon Books UK and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this and the opportunity to read this book.
This is the first book I have read by Tess Stimson, she has always been on my radar having seen her books around but never taken the plunge and picked one up. After reading One in Three this saddens me as I have enjoyed this book so much! A must read for 2020!
This book had me hooked instantly, a super twisty who done it novel. Just as you think you have worked it out you realise you don't, even down to the last chapter you just about think you know and then Tess grabs hold of the steering wheel and takes a hard turn to the right, placing you right in front of the answer,
It makes me very happy that you do find out who has taken Andrew Page's life at the end as I find sometimes with a crime novel you never find out and it feels like you are being dragged on for far too long. This on the other hand has the perfect ending.
The character development throughout the book is also well done, I really felt like I understood the characters and their thoughts behind their actions. A good character development also makes it much easier to follow the story without leaving you with tons of questions. I feel extremely fulfilled with this book.
If you like the sound of this book you can pre order it now reading for it's realise on the 6th August.
I received this book in return for an honest review and my opinion is that you should go and pre-order this now =)
As you have guessed I am rating this 5/5
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I just don’t even know where to start with this book! Absolutely keeps you on your toes the whole way you through, and right at the end when you think you’ve been given an almighty plot twist, it twists again the last 5 minutes! An amazing read, you won’t want to put this book down.
Do not wake me up from this perfect about a wife, his ex-wife, and the husband they had in common who is murdered. I couldn't put it down and the shocking twists *wooow*. This book was written so well, I am hooked. There is no way anyone could have predicted the ending *SHOCKER*
This book is a gem. I'm a psychological. thriller junkie and this one hit all the marks for me. Twists and turns and I wasn't sure until the very end "whodunit" The character development was outstanding and really helped to keep you guessing who had the motive to kill Andrew in the opening chapter. This was my first Tess Stimson and I will be going back for more. Get this one on pre-order and into your TBR pile!
Thank you Tess Stimson, Avon Books UK, and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy and the opportunity to read this book.
I devoured this book! The grammatical and spelling mistakes were distracting but as this is an unconnected proof, I eventually was able to ignore it.
I love books that start with a police interview and then go back to 'seven weeks before' so you're able to see the progression of how they ended up in a police interview. Add that to the different perspectives and you have my favourite style of thriller!
Very clever, twisty and kept me guessing throughout!
This is my first book from this author. Interesting thriller with an ending I did not see coming at all.
One in Three by Tess Stimson is a twisty tale told from the alternating narrative voices of two wives, one past and one present, pertaining to the murder of one husband, a man loved by both. Intrigued and even a little confused? I certainly was, but what fun it was to see how it all unfolds.
Louise was married to Andrew, and four years after their divorce he has gone on to marry Caz. Louise is jealous of Andrew's new family, and Caz is not convinced that she will ever live up to wife number one, who seems to be beyond reproach. When all three attend an anniversary party, Andrew will turn up dead, the victim of a murder, but which of the women have been pushed far enough to commit such a heinous and irrevocable act?
This was a fun, diversionary read that will certainly have you adding all of the novels of Tess Stimson to your TBR.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for this ARC.
I really enjoyed this book, much more than I thought I would. It's well written and very clever: told primarily from two alternating viewpoints, Louise and Caz, each POV character sucks you in and makes you believe her version of events … then back we go to the other POV and suddenly new doubt is cast on everything again. It's a perfect example of two unreliable narrators, with the truth lying somewhere in between. And while both Louise and Caz do some awful things throughout the book, I still found myself sympathising with both of them.
Sadly I suspect it's also very true to life that the two women constantly suspect and blame each other while the worst person in the situation, the shitty cheating husband, gets away with doing whatever he wants. Andrew is a terrible person and by the end of the book I was pretty glad he'd been murdered. The ultimate solution to said murder didn't surprise me, exactly, but for me this book is only incidentally a whodunit. It's much more a study of the subjectivity of truth.
4.5 stars. Recommended.
Full of twists and turns. At times it was confusing but I got to grips with it eventually. Would recommend
This book was so much better than I expected! I kept volleying back and forth on whether I liked or disliked the two main characters through the entire story. Pretty sure that’s what the author was going for. There’s a fun twist at the end, and enough suspense to keep you guessing. I truly enjoyed this book and will be looking for more from this author.
Started this book one night before bed and found myself up all night to get to the end. This is a whodunnit like no other.
This is a story about Louise and Andrew. Married for 15 years, and Andrew cheats on her with Caz. Louis finds out she is pregnant so Andrew returns to Louise and their daughter Bella, leaving Caz who is also pregnant with Kit.
Louise almost dies when she has Tolly, but a little more than a week after she comes home, Andrew walks out and divorces Louise. Caz and Andrew get married and raise their son Kit together.
But with kids, bills and child support the dynamic between them all is pretty heated at times. Things take an unexpected turn when Louises mom invites Andrew and Caz to her 50th anniversary party.
Will Andrew and Caz attend the anniversary party? Will Louise ever get over the loss of get marriage? Will Caz always feel like second wife second best?
I really enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing until the end. Thank you Netgalley for complimentary copy. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
There are 3 sides to every story. Mine, yours and the truth. This story is the prime example of that.....and I thinkg there may be ven more than 3 sides....I don't know if any of the characters in this book are likeable. I don't think that that is an issue either, it a page turner and I could not put it down.
THAT. WAS. FUN.
Andrew left Louise ONE week after their son was born.
But, she has never REALLY let go.
He married CAZ as soon as the divorce was final .
BUT...she has always been treated like she was his SECOND wife, and his SECOND choice, even after she gave birth to their son.
SURE, he shares two children with Louise, but he has stayed more involved with his first family than most EX HUSBANDS do, and is even Invited to his former Father and Mother-in-law’s Golden Wedding Anniversary party.
BOTH have reasons to HATE him.
WHO hated him enough to KILL him the night of the party?
Told from the alternating perspectives of Louise and Caz, you will have to decide who seems more reliable.
Sure, this has been done before, but what I found interesting this time is that I was sympathetic towards Caz, even though Andrew left Louise a week after their baby was born!
Clues are revealed through police interviews with other characters, and a handful of chapters told through their different voices.
This was my introduction to Tess Stimson’s work, but she is on my radar now, and I will be watching for her future releases.!
Thank you to Avon UK for my gifted copy through Netgalley! All opinions are my own.
Available on July 9th, 2020!
I loved this one. We start off with the murder of Andrew Page. His wife Caz and his ex wife Louise are the only suspects when both are found covered in his blood.
Then we go back a couple months and watch as the story unfolds. Caz and Louise hate each other and seem to go out of their way to cause problems for the others whilst maintaining a relationship with Andrew and their children. As a stepmum myself, for a short while I did feel a little sorry for Caz, especially as she was also from my hometown (Dagenham). But, let's face it, she was just as bad as Louise.
Throughout the story, we find that both women have a motive for wanting Andrew dead. But who actually did it? I thought I had it figured out. But then... BAM! We're hit with a shocking twist. But it isn't over yet, because... BAM! Another twist. What an amazing way to end the book.
An unputdownable, edge of your seat story. Highly recommend.
Oh my goodness I absolutely loved this book.
The writing style was very clever in how the characters saw themselves and how other people saw them. It had me hooked from the beginning. I couldn’t put it down. I just had to make sure I paid attention to the title of each chapter to make sure I knew who was talking!!
I disliked Andrew/Andy from the first time we met him. Although his first wife Louise/Lou was so different to Caroline/Caz they were alike in some ways such as how they felt about Andrew. When their secrets are revealed during the story I was taken by surprise on a few occasions. Loved the ending too.
This is the first book of Ms Stimson but I will definitely be reading more.
I would like to thank Avon Books and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in return for my honest review.
This is a well written psychological thriller that is full of twists and turns.
I’ve really enjoyed Tess Stimson’s other books and this one more than lived up to my expectations.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who likes this genre of book or author.
DING DING DING!!! I do believe I have found a new favorite author!!! Tess Stimson absolutely blew me away with every single page in One in Three. I love the first person narrative from each of the characters. I love how I feel sympathy, disgust, and anger toward each of them at some point or another throughout the book. I love that my jaw dropped at least a dozen times. I’m left feeling breathless and satisfied at the end of it all. I’ve already downloaded one of Tess’ previous books and I can’t wait to devour it the same way I devoured this one! Twenty stars from me!!! (Oh... they’re telling me that I can only give 5 stars so I suppose that will have to do.)
I can’t thank HarperCollins/Avon UK enough for granting me the privilege of reading this book in advance!!!
Tess is a cracking author and knows how to deliver a stonker of a novel! Told from differing viewpoints with totally unreliable narrators, this is my kind of book. I loved it!
What a perfectly written Thriller this was!.
The book starts at the murder scene of Andrew Page. Present at the scene are both his current wife Caz, and his ex-wife Louise...but who is responsible?.
The writing style throughout this book is very clever. The characters own points of views/opinions running alongside those of how the other characters perceive them is just brilliant and keeps the suspense building throughout.
There are so many twists and turns throughout, it truly is a page turner that I just couldn't put down!
Thank you for my ARC of this book in return for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book, lots of twists and turn especially at the end. I'm not sure if there was a problem with the text, but whenever a word ahs an f and I next to each other or an f and l together then the letters were omitted eg finally came out as nally and fled would be typed as Ed.
This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I love the twisty love triangle and how the story kept you guessing the whole time.
It starts of with a husband dead but who killed him: his current wife or ex wife? Definitely recommend.
This was a dark, twisty psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat! Its written well and paced fantastically. I definitely recommend this one to those who are fans of the genre.
One in Three by Tess Stimson is a thrilling story about a wife, an ex-wife and another wife. Say what? You don’t even need to read more to be intrigued. Oh there’s also a murder. What more do you need to know? This is a book that you won’t be able to put down once you start reading. I love books that sweep you off your feet from page one then keep tightening the tension until the very last page.
Look here:
Both of them loved him. One of them killed him . . .
Louise has had to watch her husband, Andrew, start a new family in the four years since he left her. The ‘other woman’ is now his wife – but Louise isn’t ready to let Caz enjoy the life that was once hers, or to let go of the man she still loves.
As Louise starts to dig into Caz’s past, the two women’s pretence of civility starts to slip. But in trying to undermine each other, they discover more about the man they both married.
And when Andrew is murdered at a family party, both women are found standing over the body.
It’s always the wife. But which one?
This author has written several other books so be sure to check out everything else she’s written while you wait for this one!

This was my first book by Tess Stimson and it kept me on my toes. I loved this mystery thriller and will suggest it to our patrons to read.
5 star.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for the ARC.
Wow, if you love a good puzzle, this is a must read. I love how you get to her the voice of multiple women as each chapter highlights a different character from the cast. I love how much harder it made to pick out the culprit when I could understand the two main female point of views. There is so much probable doubt in this story that you won’t know the ending until you get there.
This story features strong women, love, loss, and revenge. If you are a survivor of molestation or rape, you may want to approach this story with caution.
This was hard to put down and a fabulous read!
This was my first Tess Stimson book I have read, and it was a nice little read that made me feel a lot of the characters emotions throughout the book. Is this a novel which shows new and out of the box ideas, no, however if you are looking for a story that will keep you thinking and guessing until the last chapter and which doesn't need a lot of brain power to get through then I would suggest you pick this up!
There were a few areas in the plot that I found were rushed or tied up in a quick and somewhat boring way but that said all of the little cliff hangers were tied up by the final chapter so that will ease the readers frustration slightly. I enjoyed having the chapters from the different point of views, it gave a more emotional attachment to the women involved in this story, I thought that maybe one or two should of been from Andrew's point of view (the husband) however I think I was wrong by the end as the book would of probably lost its flow.
The ending for me felt a bit jumbled and all over the place, i can see the reasons and viewpoints that were needed but for following the characters for 3/4 of the book to then everything being wrapped up in the space of 3 chapters at the end I felt a little deflated.
Overall, for a summer thriller read I would recommend. I give this 3.5 stars (rounded to 4).
Thank you Netgalley, Avon Books UK and Tess Stimson to allowing me to review this ARC, it was an enjoyable few days.
When Andrew is murdered at a family party, police suspect the wife. But which one?
Caroline (or Caz, as she is better known as) is Andrew’s current wife and Louise is his ex-wife and both the women are found standing over the body. Each blames the other for the murder.
I liked the way how the book started off with Andrew's murder but without revealing who committed the crime. The story then starts from two alternating viewpoints of Louise and Caz. As each woman starts to try to find ways to undermine each other, they just find secrets about the man they married.
I enjoyed this twisted love triangle thriller. It was so much better than I expected with all the secrets and twists. It kept me guessing until the end. And the ending was a such an amazing twist.... I just didn't see it coming!!
Thank You to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for this ARC!!
A suspenseful Who Done It.
Andy is the man everyone loves and wants. He is handsome, charismatic, and sadly completely unable to be faithful. Soon someone puts a permanent end to Andy and his ways, but who killed him?
Louise, wife number one and mother to two children, both loves and hates Andy. He left her a week after her son was born for Caz, She has never truly gotten over it, and spends a lot of time plotting and planning her revenge agains his current wife.
Caz, wife number 2 and mother of one of Andy's children, is young and beautiful. Everyone warned her that she should stay clear of Andy, after all once a cheat always a cheat. She is hiding her own past demons, and spends a lot of time trying to hide who she really is. She has her own reasons to mistrust Andy and is desperate to be rid of all the drama associated with his first wife.
But there are others who have their own reasons for disliking Andy, many, many reasons. But when the whole family gathers for an anniversary party, who actually was brave enough to stab Andy and end all the betrayals.
This story is told from alternating views of Caz and Louise, and also the police interviews.
Great suspense novel, became repetitive in the middle at times, but many twists and turns kept me turning the pages.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
A story of murder and betrayal. At first i found the story a bit hard to get into, but that didn't last long. The story is mainly from the two pov of the ex wife and the current wife. I really enjoyed how the story all came together in the end, and i wasnt expecting it when the who dunnit was revealed. Another brilliant read from the brilliant Tess Stimson. Thank you to net galley for the chance to read
If Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, what if it’s two women? Louise watches her ex-husband Andrew start a happy new family with his younger wife, Caz. Caz watches as Andrew cannot really let go of the ties he and Louise built together – plus the former couple have two children. Louise plans to do all she can – and I do mean, all – to ensure Andrew, and everyone else, knows the truth about who Caz is and what’s she capable of. But there’s a family party coming up, a time of happiness and pleasure, and someone is going to end up murdered. I liked how all the threads of the plot came together, and the ending was appropriate. It’s so well layered and thoroughly, twistingly, enjoyable.
This is the absolute best kind of domestic thriller. You know, the one all those hundreds of new books with a certain kind of ominous cover are trying to be? This one is the real deal. Well-written, great character development, and just the perfect amount of twists. The basic premise of the book is simple: Husband Andy has been murdered. Is it the old wife, or the new wife? But then, there’s sooooo much more to this book than that. Told by alternating narrators and interspliced with scenes from police interrogations, the suspense is slow at first but reaches a fever pitch halfway through and never lets up. The narrator does a masterful job of dropping hints about the real reason Andy was killed without tipping you off too much, and the book deals with some serious and dark stuff. (And that title - genius, Ms. Stimson. I see what you did there.)
This is one of those books that you have to give a little time to complete the setup, and then the payoff is sublime. I will definitely be on the hunt for more thrillers by Tess Stimson. This was my first Tess Stimson book and it most definitely will not be my last.
Thank you to NetGalley, Tess Stimson and Avon Books UK for this delightfully twisted and compelling read. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review, which is - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way!
Thank you netgalley and @harpercolliinsca for this digital copy. One in Three is a brilliantly twisted thriller. Anyone who is married for the second time and has to accept that the exes will always be in the picture due to children - will think some parts of this novel is written just for them. Louise has had to watch her husband Andrew, start a new family in the four years since he left her. The other woman is now his wife and they share a son together.
Louise isn't ready to let Caz enjoy the life that was once hers. When early on into the book, Andrew is murdered at a family party, both women are found standing over the body....it's always the wife right? But in this case, which one?
Ouf! what a read ! The relationship between the wives, their mother's and Louise and her daughter was really intense ! I always enjoy reading about mother daughter relationships and it's complexities.
You will not even believe the deep dark secret that is revealed...If you enjoy twisted plots, complicated relationships and moments that will have you hyperventilating....then, this is definitely for you !
I am always so excited when I discover an author that makes me feel all sorts of emotions...can NOT wait to read another novel by this author.
Thank you Net Galley and Avon Books for this Riveting book. WOW, what a Ride!! I had NO idea it was who it was. I couldn’t put this book down, I was glued to it. Thank you Tess Stimson for writing an enthralling book. I Love a Great read and this was one of the Best!!!
A compelling murder mystery with lots of twists and turns, perfect for fans of thrillers and mystery novels.
The story is told from a number of perspectives and keeps you guessing throughout - thoroughly well written.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to the author, Avon Books UK and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a quick, suspenseful read about a trio with lots of secrets and resentments. Short précis: Man is killed, both his current (second) wife and his ex-wife are in the running to be the one who wielded the knife. The story is told in alternating POVs by the two women, plus a few cameos from the ex-wife's sister-in-law and the ex-wife's mother, as well as a few transcripts of police interviews. I found this worked really well to keep the story moving forward, and the reader guessing. The story is twisty enough to keep you guessing until almost the end, the three main characters were well developed - I found all three intensely unlikeable - and the ending was satisfying.
This is the second book from Tess Stimson that I’ve read. The other being The Adultery Club (5 star read) and it certainly won’t be the last. What a page turner! The battle between the two wives was raw and emotional as Tess Stimson has the ability to write a story which is truly relatable and believable.
I look forward to reading more of her novels.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the arc of One in Three by Tess Stimson,
Thank you Tess Stimson for such a gripping and engulfing and unstoppable thriller.
This follows and goes around Andrew, he divorced his ex wife Louise a mere 4 years ago so he can be with Caroline his new partner. Louise his ex wife still deeply loves Andrew but Caz (Caroline) does not want to give him away of course. This tells the events and everything in between right up to his own death but both women are standing over his dead body... who did it? Caz or Louise?... this is what had me gripped from the start all the mysteries and secrets regarding this and that it had me guessing and guessing which i liked.
It is told in 2 perspectives, Louise and Caz. Some from Louise's best friend Min too. Both women were unrelaible perspectives/narrators as you was directly sucked into their life and not sure which one to trust or believe....
But who killed him? Tess is such a great writer that she makes you change your mind quickly...
But wow this was such a great thriller and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this so thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for approving me to read this!
Definitely recommend if you love a good thriller!!
5 stars!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Both of them loved him. One of them killed him .
Louise has had to watch her husband, Andrew, start a new family in the four years since he left her with another woman, who is now his wife. Louise still loves Andrew and isn’t quite ready for him and Caz to live happily ever after. .
Louise decides to dig into Caz's past and in doing so, they both discover things about Andrew they possibly wished they hadn’t! So, when Andrew is murdered at a family party, both women are found standing over the body. Who killed him? The ex wife or the current wife?
Devious, addictive and a real good read’
Great story! I was engaged the entire time. A real page turner. Looking forward to reading more books from this author! Highly recommend!
A superb family psychological thriller set against a domestic love triangle with Andrew who is married to Caz and they have a son Kit. He divorced Louise. 4 years ago, they have a daughter Bella and a son Tolly.
Each character is well drawn, and Andrew is seemingly caught in the middle. Whilst the women try and score points against each other in various (and devious) ways. One minute you are feeling sorry for one of them and the next they are quite ruthless. Loved those girls!
This book has more twists than Chubby Checker and builds to a great climax with an anniversary party to which everybody is invited. No more spoilers from me, but we know who ends up dead from various police interviews dotted throughout the book. What an excellent way of drawing the reader in?
Loved it all (apart from those grammatical errors revolving around the letters 'fl' it seems).
Thanks to Net Galley and Avon Books for the chance to read and review.
Thanks to netgalley, Avon books UK and Tess Stimson for the advance copy of this book in exchange for my review.
I LOVED this one.
Ex wife, Louise and current wife Caz are found standing over the body of husband Andrew. There is animosity between the two women to say the least. As each women's history is unfolded you realize both have things in their past that could make them the one to want to murder Andrew. Which one is guilty? Read it and find out. You won't be disappointed.
4-5 stars, while I found this to be a quick, good read, I can’t give a full 5 stars, because something was lacking for me! Overall, I think it provided the thrills and chills I savor, and had some good trusts and turns, as well as shocks, but I noticed it wasn’t completely unputdownable for me. I would definitely recommend to my fellow genre lover and think most will absolutely enjoy! Will definitely read more by this author.
A massive thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to review an early copy of this book.
I’ve been a fan of Tess Stimson for a long time now and this does not disappoint.
Told mainly between the perspectives of Caroline who is currently married to Andrew, and Louise, his ex-wife, this is a fast paced, twisty thriller that had me totally gripped from beginning to end
Louise blames Caroline for breaking up her marriage to Andrew, who left her one week after the birth of their baby. Caroline believes that the marriage was already over in everything but name by the time she started seeing Andrew.
Andrew and Louise has two children together, Bella and Tolly, Caroline and Andrew together have Kit,who isa very similar age to Tolly.
Louise’s parents have always stayed close to Andrew, and the story unfolds as a countdown to their wedding anniversary party, after starting with the horrific death of a main character.
I loved this book, the twists just kept coming, every time I thought I had the plot guessed, there was another turn, it kept me gripped from beginning to end.
Thoroughly recommended.
4+
What a dramatic start to this enjoyable read! The location: Burgh Island, Devon where Louise Page’s parents Celia and Brian Roberts are due to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. The scenario: the gory and bloody scene with Andrew Page dead and his ex-wife Louise and current wife Caz covered in blood. They blame each other. Who is the liar? The story is told principally by Louise and Caz with a countdown to the party, interspersed with police interviews which works very effectively.
This is a well written and enthralling thriller as for a long time the two wives versions contradict each other and your sympathy switches from one to another as does who you believe. This is very tantalising and keeps you interested to the end. Both women have intriguing backgrounds which potentially points the finger at both of them which adds to the mix. A series of unpleasant events occur which rapidly descends into something that resembles mortal combat as both women fight to win back or keep Andrew. He really isn’t worth it ladies, which as the book unfolds becomes apparent. There are few likeable characters apart from the children but that adds to the entertainment value! The plot is good and the potential killer net becomes wider and wider as several have a motive to kill Andrew beyond the obvious rivals. There are so many secrets, lies and such palpable jealousy it’s like watching an impending train wreck. My only negative is that a few sections don’t always seem completely relevant but at least it gives you chance for a breather!
Overall, a really good novel which is well written and plotted, with drama aplenty to keep you transfixed and reading on to the end. The setting on Burgh Island is excellent too!
With thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the ARC.
I’d like to thank Avon Books UK and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘One In Three’ by Tess Stimson in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Andrew and Caz are attending an anniversary party organised by his ex-wife’s parents, Celia and Brian Roberts. The next morning Andrew is found at the Beach House lying in a pool of blood with a knife by his side. The two women in his life, ex-wife Louise and current wife Caz, are found standing over his dead body and each are accusing the other of his murder. They say it’s always the wife and although they find it hard to be civil to each other they both love Andrew, so which one of them hates him enough to want him dead?
‘One In Three’ is a complex story of two families joined together by the one man. It has a gripping plot that commences seven weeks before the party to the present time and is woven around the police questioning those present at the party as they try to solve the mystery of who murdered Andrew. There are interesting characters, drama, nail-biting suspense, and twists and turns that keeps you guessing till the very end. This is the first I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed it so much I’ll be looking out for her other novels.
I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine
This is a new author for me
Absolutely loved this
A quick, unpredictable read, I fairy devoured this in 1 sitting. Couldn't put this down
Highly recommend
One in Three by Tess Stimson centers around Louise, Andrew, and Caz. Louise and Andrew are divorced and share two children. Caz is Andrew’s new wife and they have a son together. It’s a typical modern family that turns ugly at Louise’s mother’s party. She decides to invite Andrew and Caz, knowing full well that the former and current wives do not get along. This ends badly with a murder that leaves everyone questioning who exactly is responsible. Family politics takes on an entirely different meaning in this domestic thriller written from multiple character’s perspectives. At first, it’s hard to see what caused the violent hatred between Louise and Caz besides the obvious, but when Louise starts intruding on Andrew and Caz’s relationship, it becomes clearer and clearer. The suspense comes from the family drama that happens when children are involved after a divorce. I found the pace to be a bit slow and the characterization lacking. That being said, it did deliver in the mystery department and was worth the read. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
A big thank you to Netgallery and Tess Stimson for providing a free E-Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review! This book was so good. I could not put this book down and ended up finishing it in one day.
This book centers around the two women who fell in love and married the same man. The book switches between the povs of the current wife , Caroline (Caz) and the ex-wife Louise. The beginning of the story starts out with the death of Andrew and the two wives being questioned by the police. Then the story is laid out with the events that led up to his death. Each chapter is "the truth" of the events as that character sees it. The characters were all well developed and complex. I had to take some time, at the beginning, to figure out how each character was connected and involved in the story line, but it was not long that I had a vested interest in the final outcome for each person. The pacing of this book was well done. The author did a great job layering the action and misdirection to cause me to keep guessing who might the killer be. I could not believe how far some of these characters were willing to go in order to find and defend a sense of "rightness" for their actions. I was totally shocked and amazed when the killer was finally revealed. I agreed with the author's ending of the story and found it very believable. I would highly recommend this book to those who love a great mystery/thriller that will keep you up late trying to figure out the identity of the killer as well as their motive! I can't wait to read more books by this author!
Fascinating and quick read full of twists and turns! There was not a boring page as I devoured it almost at once. It tells the non-uncommon story of blended families and you quickly figure out who is the real problem. However, as it twists and turns along, you are never quite sure who the victim is nor who is the perpetrator. Fantastic!
It took me a little time to get into this book as I found I couldn't figure out the relationships of all the characters, although all became clear within a chapter or 2.
A minor point too ... the letter combination of 'fi' and 'fl' didn't print on the ARC that I sent to my Kindle. Once I got this I managed to overlook it but the were lots of occurrences of those letter combinations .. "I'm on the oor in the ofice, but I'm ne" etc. On reflection I am surprised at how many English words contain those letter patterns,
Nonetheless it didn't spoil a first-class story.Cleverly told in flash-back form building to a rather exciting climax - I had decided several times whodunnit and I was quite satisfied with the denouement, until .....(no spoiler!)
My first Tess Stimson but I will be looking at her other work now.
Highly recommended and my thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for the ARC.
' Both of them loved him, one of them killed him. Since the divorce, Louise has had to watch her husband start a new life with a new family, and still doesn't feel ready to let go. Louise starts to dig into Caz's past and they both feud with each other but along the way discover things about the man they both married. '
This book was brill! Very nearly a 5 star but I did find it quite a slow read at first! But once I got into it wow! It definitely took a dark turn and had me like 😮. The writing was brilliant, and flowing. Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down! This book does have sensitive topics in, but the twists and what happens is amazing!!
I love the relationship between the family, and how it does share people's views on the situation. I loved Louise's character, especially her as a mother and the journey she's on.
I definitely cannot wait to read more by Tess! 😍
One in Three is fast paced, well-written, and suspenseful. The story is told from multiple characters, which certainly puts into stark, terrifying perspective how various people can find a different "truth" in the same events. Definitely recommended for fans of suspense!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. The opinions in this review are honest and my own.
I would like to thank Avon books UK, Tess Stimson and Netgalley for the advance copy of One in Three an for giving me this opportunity to give an honest review.
The story is about two women a wife and a ex-wife both fighting over Andy their husband but we find out at the beginning that Andy has been killed but by whom as both women have motive. Each chapter goes between the wife and the ex-wife where are you are not quite sure who is telling the truth!
I have not read any books by this author before but will definitely be reading more. I enjoyed all the twists and turns in the story as you think you know and then it all changes so you’re not quite sure. You will definitely get sucked into this story which is dark and tense.
Well, that was entertaining. Tess Stimson...what a clever writer you are!
There was so much to love about One In Three--dynamic, dauntless characters; intensely complex relationships; and a twisty, multilayered plot. Told from dual narratives, those of Louise and Caz, the story takes readers back several weeks prior to the infamous anniversary party, where Andrew, the (ex) husband, lost his life. Sections are labeled Six Weeks Before The Party or Three Weeks Before The Party, etc., as the story progresses to present day.
One technique I really loved was how Louise's narrative made Caz look like an unstable liar, while Caz's did the same to Louise.
Who to believe?
Both women were sympathetic at times, and completely repugnant at others.
I did suspect whodunit fairly early on, and was ultimately proven correct, yet it did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for the story. And credit where credit is due...there were a couple twists thrown in I simply didn't see coming.
Unfortunately, animal abuse was featured during the story. For that reason, I deducted a star from my rating. (Come on, authors...you can do better. Your stories would be just as good without the animal mutilation. Please stop!)
Bottom line: This novel was a win and far exceeded my expectations. Pick up your copy July 9, 2020.
**My sincere appreciation to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for my review copy.
This book follows the perspectives of Louise and Caz; ex-wife and current wife to Andy respectively. The women have had bad blood between them ever since Andy had the affair four years ago, but did he ever think that their differences would result in his death?
This is an amazing tale of whodunnit! Told in alternating perspective, the author did an incredible job of slowing revealing the story of both main characters. The character development flowed well and even surprised me during the way. I couldn't put down the book and finished it a couple of hours. I hope Tess Stimson continues writing because this was my first book by her, but hopefully not my last. I would highly recommend.
They say that "love makes you crazy", right? I believe this quote accurately describes every person's motive and also gives them a great excuse for their actions in the book.
Andrew Page is man who was perhaps loved to death by both his wife and his ex-wife.
Louise Page was married to Andrew for over 10 years, and then she makes one 'mistake', he leaves her - one week after the birth of their second child, and to be with his mistress, Caz. Almost immediately after that, he marries Caz and they have a baby together.
Caz knows that Louise still loves Andrew, as does everyone else. But Andrew is with Caz now, and Louise has to respect that.
This book starts off with Andrew's death, and Caz and Louise are found covered in his blood when the police finds them.
And while everyone can testify that Louise and Caz are quite civil to one another, they are far from civil behind closed doors.
One in Three is full of perfect twists, and the most diabolical characters.
*I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Domestic thrillers are my favorite!!!! Each chapter told between Louise the ex wife and Caz the current wife. Andrew the husband and Dad is murdered....... who did it??
I would feel sorry for Louise and hate Caz during Louise’s chapters and feel sorry for Caz and think Louise was crazy during Caz’s chapters! The slow build up gives you motive for both these women to have motive to kill Andrew. And when you have it figured out.....YOUR WRONG!!
This is my first book by this author and I definitely will be going back for more!!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy!!!!
I was totally immersed in this book. It gripped me from the start. Some awesome plot twists . This book had you guessing who was the real perpetrator. What a mixed up family. The story is told by different people . What a twisted love triangle. I changed my mind so many times trying to work out who did it.
I love Tess Stimson, she's amazing. Her writing is fantastic and I always feel sucked into her work. This book was no different, creepy, thrilling and a great read. I liked it a lot and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun thriller.
A good “ who done it” read. One in three starts out with husband , ex husband , and father Andrew murdered. All the familial characters are developed going backwards in time until the day of the murder. It is up to the reader to decipher through the twists and turns of murdered Andrew’s family and friends lives to come up with the murderer. The author keeps the reader an engaged detective, as he/she attempts to solve the mystery.
LOVED this. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. You find out in the beginning that Andrew dies, but who killed him is truly a mystery up until the very end. You think you know who killed him and then another piece of evidence points in another direction. BRILLIANT.
The different perspectives was a great way to tell this story. Everyone has their secrets and their issues. The feud between Caz and Louise was so much drama but it made it so addicting.
I would highly recommend this book and I will search for more books by this author. What an enjoyable read.
A brilliant tense and dark domestic noir story. I loved it. Brilliant writing as always. Thisnquthor never disappoints
Louise was married to Andrew – until he left her, a week after their son’s birth, to live with Caz, the woman he’d been secretly having an affair with.
Andrew has made a new life with Caz and their son Kit; however, it’s clear Louise hasn’t really moved on. Perhaps, nor has he. All that is sure is that Caz and Louise hate each other, and with Andrew refusing to take a stand, it’s all-out war.
This was a risky read, as I had a horrible feeling it was going to venture in to the realms of really pathetic cliché. Thankfully, the author steered well clear, and wrote something that was at times quite dark and gritty.
The three main characters are easy to relate to, and impressively, I found myself having sympathy for all three of them at different times – which is no easy task given the way they treat each other!
This story was full of twists and turns, some of which I saw coming, some of which I thought I saw coming, and was then proved wrong. Absolutely fantastic writing, and had me hooked from the start.
Well!!! This was certainly an original tale of two women's battle over the love(?) of the same man and how their battle spills over in the end....orvrather the beginning. As the story starts with the death of the husband, each woman tells her story of how circumstances brought them to this point. As the chapters alternate between each woman and move through history to tell their side of the story, you will find it hard to decide who kills him and why. A truly original twist on the old "woman done wrong goes pyscho on his ass" that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Ouise had been married to Andrew for over ten years when he left her for Caz. But Louise isn't ready to let Caz enjoy the life she once had. Or let go of the man she still lover.
We find out early that Andrew dies but we don't k ow who killed him until the very end. This is a very twisted love triangle. There's plenty of twists in this whodunnit that will have you constantly changing your mind to who the culprit was. The plotline is complex. The chapters are told by Louise and Caz. The tension builds slowly in this well written, page turning and gripping read. The pace is good. This is an intriguing story.
I would like to thank NetGalley, AvonnBooks UK and the author Tess Stimson for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.
